  1. I think this is a tough topic. I live in the USA and I’m suffering from some serious tip fatigue. I’ve always been a good tipper. Since the pandemic a ton of places are wanting tips for non waiting service. I thought that was why we get pick up? It used to be a cheaper option than eating in a restaurant. On top of the inflation that has already been passed to me as a consumer many services that didn’t use to expect a tip now want 15 - 30 %. That is like a 30% to 45% increase to me the consumer. It is out of control. Like I said I am exhausted by it all and a little fed up.
  2. You’ll have at least 6 hours to drive 30 minutes. Nothing to worry about. Get the earliest boarding possible on your second leg. You can also stop some place for breakfast if you would like. Enjoy
  3. I will not go on Carnival again because of the stupid drink limit. Hard pass
  4. I’m in your same boat. Diamond and free casino drinks. I always buy the package anyways. I don’t care if I break even. I just consider it part of the cruise cost. It is nice just to have it paid for and then I can get what I want where I want.
  5. You will find the MDR experience similar to the lines you have cruised on. For an enhanced experience I would suggest the UDP. It is a nice improvement over the MDR if you don’t mind spending the funds.
  6. I wouldn’t assume this is all the result of intentional cutbacks. I think some of it is a result of staff shortages and new inexperienced crew members. My fingers are crossed that as time passes they are able to increase staffing and some of these issues go away.
  7. That sucks big time. If you are in Reno just start driving.
  8. I’d be shocked if the cruise contract doesn’t prevent this type of claim.
  9. Getting the result one wants does not make someone’s actions right. I wouldn’t call a few weeks indefinite. By their own admission they don’t even need the passport for the cruise vacation they are taking. I’d like to think that my congress representatives office exist to work on more important issues than getting you folks on your cruises.
  10. Congress person? Are you serious?
  11. We did these in Bonaire and loved it. I think we went the wrong direction but nobody seemed to care. Be careful of your weight distribution. Our son was driving with a few standing in the back and the cart did a wheelie. We had a great time and got to see so much of Bonaire.
  12. I’m guessing everything will cost more for awhile on that ship.
  13. It isn’t really about the 2x a day. It is frustrating to continue to see the degradation of service. Prices are up. Gratuities are up. I’m paying more for less service and quality. I enjoy the overall cruise experience. I can see how people with more than two in a room can be impacted by only once a day service. I wouldn’t want to deal with pulling the beds out or putting them away.
  14. I don’t book a cruise to do my “at home” routine.
  15. It is nice to experience once in my opinion. It is a unique dinner experience but the food offerings are odd.
  16. Where are the designated smoking areas on Oasis?
  17. I remember thinking the Bermuda fee was related to Covid testing. Now that you ask this I do wonder. I’ve seen a few articles lately of other places implementing a tourist tax when entering the country.
  18. How are you going to get the correct key cards once on board?
  19. I like to think of it more as mourning the old ways than complaining. Folks need to process the change and vent their frustration. Most people don’t handle change well. What you call complaining is a normal response when presented with something different than one is used to.
