I did the Walgreen's rapid antigen test on June 15th prior to the June 17th Pearl sailing. I had my results in less than two hours, and it was free. They did it via a drive-thru window; it was quick and easy!

I have cruised solo in the Haven a few times, and have enjoyed it a great deal. The private sundeck alone for me is worth the price of admission. Many early mornings I was up there alone with my thoughts, my coffee, and the sea. Incredible. If you can afford it, I say do it! As others have said, you can be as social as you want just by leaving the Haven area.

Does anybody really believe that everybody aboard these ships has been vaccinated? I guarantee there are some purchased vaccination cards being flashed about as if they were real. What do they do about those with "medical exemptions"? Are they allowed to cruise? Also, kids under 12 have no vaccine requirement at this time.

Thank you for this link! Interesting site for sure. I am currently in the throes of Covid; my wonderful husband brought it home to me from his workplace. It just kills me that for over 2 years I have gone nowhere but the cancer center, and I still couldn't avoid it. I'm feeling really lousy this morning and have been up since 2 because I couldn't stop coughing. This is a miserable virus, and anyone who says it's like a cold must have horrible colds! I don't think I have ever felt so lousy. Trying to look on the bright side - maybe now I can cruise soon!

I think I am going to have to go this route; cruise Covid numbers seem to be trending in the wrong direction. Not to get too personal, but my diagnosis is not good and this may be the last chance I get to cruise while I'm still feeling up to it. Hard decision to make.

I am on oral chemo as well; my oncologist is against the idea of a cruise but knows it's ultimately my decision how much risk I am willing to take. She is suggesting an antibody infusion for me; not sure I want to go this route as it only has emergency FDA approval. Right now I am leaning towards canceling, but will wait a few more weeks and watch what's going on in the Northeast. I'm really more afraid of the Boston cruiseport than I am of the ship!

Thank you for all this information. I work in healthcare, and our hospital system is seeing a huge uptick in Covid hospitalizations. The vast majority are not immunized, or were immunized when the vaccines became available but haven't had any boosters. We are seeing that most vaccinated and boosted individuals are still getting Covid, but symptoms are mild and the patients don't require hospitalization. I keep telling myself that even if I got Covid I should have great coverage, but that's small consolation if I were to have to put my chemo regimen on hold while I fight with Covid. A lot to think about! I will definitely look for some social media sites that specifically look at the cruise ships coming in and out of the Northeast. I kind of have my heart set on cruising, as I haven't found any land vacation opportunities that I wouldn't have to fly to get to! We have rented a beach house on the coast of Maine for a week in July, but that means I'm going to have to do all the cooking! 🙂 Thanks, again. This makes me really sad. I am an active cancer patient, and scheduled to sail on the Pearl on June 17th. My oncologist doesn't want me to go, but she said we would wait a few more weeks to see what Covid does before she gives her final recommendation. I am double vaxxed and double boosted, but I know my immune system is crap so I am going to have to defer to what my doctor says. I desperately need a cruise; I have been house-bound since the beginning of the pandemic! Does anyone know if there is any place to get this information other than boards like this? I need to keep my eye on Pearl covid cases, but not quite sure how to do that!
