  2. The previous Senior Community Support Specialist mentions above that they helped others. The current Senior Community Support Specialist is @CC Help Michell. Since they have now been tagged, hopefully they will be able to help.

Please remember the following portion from the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: Browse Before You Post Browse a topic first to see if your question has already been asked or answered by someone else. Also, many of the major cruise lines forums have a FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) topic that has been created by our members. Give that a try first. Browsing is your #1 best resource! Please post your messages in an appropriate topic so that you'll receive the best possible response. It is very time consuming to move misplaced messages that are in the wrong topics. To find your fellow Cruise Critic members sailing with you on your cruise, you need to post on the specific Cruise Critic Roll Call thread for your cruise line, ship and sail date. Once you decide which cruise to book, be sure to find your Roll Call thread. Please read What is a Roll Call? Everything you Need to Know and How To: Create A New Roll Call. For more information about our famous Roll Calls, please read the Roll Calls and Our Policy Regarding Facebook and Roll Calls sections in the Guidelines. We also have the following Cruise Critic article from last year you might enjoy: 8 Reasons to Join a Cruise Critic Roll Call The specific Roll Call thread for your cruise is the ONLY place on the Cruise Critic message boards where you and your fellow Roll Call thread members are allowed to post personal ads about sharing private tours, excursions or transportation with each other to save money. There is a "captive audience" there since you are all sailing together! Your fellow Roll Call thread members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread. Especially those that may have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before. Also, they may have already posted share requests that may interest you. Roll Calls are for people to get to know one another before their cruise. Therefore, there will be all kinds of discussion! Once you locate the Roll Call thread for your specific line, ship and sail date if one is already created, first read through the whole thread to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you. Then use the dark blue Reply to this topic button to post an introductory post about yourself on the Roll Call thread. When done with your message, click the dark blue Submit Reply button. If you want to address a particular post already in the thread, click the Reply to this topic button and then be sure to click the Quote feature on that particular post as I did yours so all will be aware of what your post concerns. You type your message UNDER the light blue quote box then click the dark blue Submit Reply button. If the member has used the Follow feature on the thread, they will get a notification that you have quoted their post. Then sit back and wait for your fellow Cruise Critic members sailing with you to join in with posts. They will appreciate you starting the Roll Call! And don't worry about any responsibilities in starting a Roll Call thread. Roll Calls belong to everyone on the Roll Call thread. There is no designated leader or owner. It does not matter who started the thread. If you ever need technical help in regard to using the Cruise Critic message board software, go to the Need Help Using the Forums? Check Here! forum. 6. Hello @Keywestsailordude Thank you for your new thread on the Cruise Blogs & Websites forum. However, it is off-topic there since that forum is for our members to post links to their personal travelogue-type of cruise-related blogs or websites. It is the forum where members find technical assistance in using the message board software. Note the numerous "How to..." pinned (aka sticky) threads at the top of the forum's first page. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that may be of interest to you. Regarding your topic, we have the following pinned threads regarding cabins that were started by members. They are located on some of the cruise line forums and have been there for a very long time. And yes, some contain spreadsheets or links to spreadsheets that are maintained by members. Carnival Cruise Lines: CCL Cabin Info Compilation - No Cabin Questions posted here please! 15. Hello @splinkaone IIRC for tablets, phones & iPads, they need to be held in landscape orientation to see the Search feature. If using a laptop or desktop, the Search oval is located in the upper right below your user name. Be sure you have used the correct location in the drop-down menu for your search. Here is a clip of my choices: And sometimes you need to enter multiple words surrounded by quotation marks - like, "Miami hotels" - you will get different results than if you entered just the two words. This is because quotation marks are used for phrase searching. That way your results will just be posts containing the phrase "Miami hotels" and not ALL the posts containing the word Miami as well as ALL the posts containing the word hotels. Also, I know you know what you are looking for... but sometimes I try to think in the way someone else would have posted the information. Then use word phrases with quotation marks as mentioned above. And when you see the list of results, the first thing I do is to change the SORT BY from Relevancy to Date so the newer results will be at the top of the list. Here is another clip. Hope this will be helpful! Host Kat
  16. @TravelingMr.Bill Your info is safe. However I have removed it for you. Next time, please use the Report feature. Click here: How To: Report a Post A User Reported Content list of reports will be generated for review to all volunteer Hosts and paid Administrators. The reports will automatically show the important information they MUST have such as the forum name, thread title or post in addition to your message of what you want edited. Only Hosts or Administrators are able to edit existing threads at any time. Members have only about 15 minutes after a thread appears on the board to edit. Please note, only personal information can be removed. Please click here: Can I Have My Post(s) Edited/Deleted? The volunteer Hosts or paid Administrators will review your Report post report when they can. I say "when they can" because all e-mails and Report post reports to Cruise Critic are answered in order of receipt. With almost two million members and some sending e-mails and reports 24/7 from all over the world, please be patient for any action. Also, please remember the Hosts are non-paid volunteers and work the boards when their real life permits. Most Administrators work regular weekday business hours. Note this is what others see when clicking the info in the red My Viking Journey that was in your post:
  17. Asking on the boards does no good as it will not be seen by LauraS, Senior Manager, Community. Please note the following from the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: "... If you have any questions or comments regarding our posting guidelines or any content found on our message boards please be sure and let me know. I'll be happy to discuss them with you. LauraS Senior Manager, Community community@cruisecritic.com ..." Please send your email with your questions/comments/feedback to LauraS, Senior Manager, Community at community@cruisecritic.com. Also, please send the email from your current Cruise Critic email address of record and be sure to mention your Cruise Critic user name. This is so your membership can be verified, and reply sent to your Cruise Critic email address of record. Hope this information will be helpful. Host Kat
  18. Regarding the Cruise Critic message board Message feature, it is available for use by Administrators & Hosts ONLY. We can use it with each other and to members. If one of us contacts a member via the feature, the member cannot reply back. The Message feature is disabled for members and has been I think since Cruise Critic was part of AOL over twenty-five years ago. I do know for sure it was that way when I joined Cruise Critic in 2005. However in the olden days when the Cruise Critic message board used vBulletin software, if you and another member had your own registered identities for certain instant messaging networks and placed the info in your Cruise Critic profiles, you would then be able to contact each other via those networks. Waaaay back then you could click on User CP or Quick Links then Edit Profile and then scroll down to the Optional Information - All information will be viewable by other forum members section. There you would see the following: Instant Messaging You may enter your registered identity for the instant messaging networks if you would like other visitors to be able to contact you using that medium. ICQ Number AIM Screen Name MSN Messenger Handle Yahoo! Messenger Handle Skype Name Once you entered your registered identity info of one of those networks and clicked the Save Changes button back then, your instant messaging network logo would then appear in all your Cruise Critic posts with your join date & post count. You and other Cruise Critic members with the same instant messaging network would be able to click the logos appearing on Cruise Critic posts to contact each other via the network. However, those days are loooong gone now that Invision Community software has been used by the Cruise Critic message board since October 2018. Hope this information (and a little history lesson from down Memory Lane 😀) will be helpful! Host Kat

  23. Hello @Stupet and welcome to Cruise Critic and the message boards! I see you have a UK IP Address. (Don't worry, only Hosts & Administrators can see the information. It is not available to members.) Therefore, I'm guessing your dad booked a P&O Cruises ( UK ) cruise. And yes, the contract your dad agreed to when booking the cruise states it is up to the passenger to verify what documents are needed and then obtain them. That is standard for most cruise lines, not just P&O. To help you out your new thread has been moved to the World Cruising forum where it will be on topic. It is the place for world and extended length cruisers to share advice and experiences. Browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest.
