  1. I'm confused. Where in my example using the Alivea option rather than the default Plaid option, did it ask for any brokerage house information, other than for you to upload a copy of your brokerage statement referencing your CCL stock ownership?
  2. You used the "Alinea" option rather than the default Plaid option? If so, you shouldn't have seen any reference to any stock broker.
  3. My unofficial guess from over here in the peanut gallery is CCL is looking to reduce manpower costs associated with the initial processing requirements of 1000s of shareholder benefit requests on a daily basis by partnering with StockPerks. When we originally bought our CCL stock a few years back at $48 a share, I'm sure the associated workload to handle SHB requests was much less. Now that CCL shares are around $12 per share and are much more affordable, I'm pretty sure this reduction in cost has caused a huge increase in folks buying shares and subsequently applying for SHBs. And I'm sure the same is happening over at NCLH and RCG. Of course, this is just a guess.
  4. Nope, I have absolutely no skin in this game. Actually, it’s the other way around. What value would it bring to NCLH to have an App do some of the upfront work when initially handling 1000s of SHB requests weekly, if not daily, that some of their employees are doing every day. But that’s their call. I was just curious if NCL under guidance from NCLH had started to implement this option since I saw NCL listed (with apparent typos) on the app, similar to what Carnival Corporation has initiated for 4 of their cruise lines to be expanded to a much wider scope of their lines in the near future from what someone is suggesting.
  5. Actually, a variety of Princess CVPs have been mentioning this StockPerks App to some of their clients who are also Carnival Corp share holders, some of whom are also CC members that have been posting about their experiences on the Princess forum. So I’m guessing StockPerks is legit, as quite a few folks are getting their SOBC posted to their bookings. If they were a scam, I wouldn’t think Princess would be posting OBC to guests accounts. But you never know … But that’s cool. From the responses I’ve received so far on this forum, it doesn’t appear any NCL CVPs have been promoting this App (yet) to the shareholding clients.
  6. Good points. You got me there. But then so does our Travel Agency we book our cruises with. Like I said, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
  7. We totally agree. The only information I gave them to create the StockPerks account was my first and last name and email address.
  8. Just a suggestion from my experience in Quito back in 2015 when we went on our Galapagos Xpedition cruise. When in Quito to include your stay at the hotel, do not drink the tap water, to include brushing your teeth with it or taking a shower with your mouth open. Montezuma’s revenge is very much alive and well in the tap water down there. I actually experienced Mr Montezuma’s revenge for the first day or two on the cruise when I ate some grapes that had probably been rinsed with tap water at the breakfast buffet at the Marriott hotel. Just a suggestion. 😁
  9. Nope. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, one of the many reasons we enjoy cruising with Princess is because we very rarely ever get heartburn when on a Princess cruise where most of the time we’re eating in the Reserve (formerly Club Class) dining room. OTOH we would get heartburn practically every evening after eating in Luminae when we were booked in a Celebrity sky suite on multiple occasions. And now that we’re in our early 70s, that’s an important issue for us. We also usually never gain any weight after being on a 2-4 week Princess cruise. I know, who would have thought that was even possible!! 😂
  10. FWIW we gave very minimal information, which for the most part was optional to create the account. And we agree, the current process of emailing the SHB form is very simple and easy. The issue is going to be whether or not a cruise line opts to change it’s SHB submission procedures to reduce the overhead requirements associated with managing the current process. I guess time will tell. I just thought it was interesting NCL along with Royal Caribbean were listed in the Company section in the app.
  11. @thermal, here’s an example from our upcoming Antarctica booking’s Travel Summary where we’re flying in a day early and staying at the hotel next to the Santiago airport. However, we will be taking the Princess transfer from the airport to the ship the next day. You’ll notice both options are provided. One for if we were arriving the day of the cruise and one if we were going to arrive prior to embarkation day. However, you’ll obviously need to check out the details provided in your Travel Summary for details about your airport transfers. BTW we did not book our flight through Princess, just the transfers.
  12. FWIW both my DW and I downloaded the app to our iPads. Maybe someone following this thread has successfully downloaded the app to their iPhone.
  13. If I might ask, what type of device and operating system are you using? There was a gentleman that was using an iPhone 6 with an outdated iOS operating system that was having issues with the app.
  14. My interpretation is this is sort of an evolving beta version test being offered to see if it’s possibly a more advantageous approach from NCL’s perspective for folks to submit their a shareholder benefits requests. It will be interesting to see if/how this application will evolve over the months to come. Right now it appears it’s being implemented via word of mouth by CVPs.
  15. We just got finished applying for Princess shareholder benefits using the online StockPerks app and noticed that Norwegian Cruise Lines was list on the app's applicable Companies list. Has anyone tried using this App yet to get SOBC posted to one or more of your existing NCL bookings? For a little more information with regards to using this app, here's a Princess Forum link that initially got us researching its details, and then subsequently applying online for the PCL shareholder benefits OBC for two cruises that sail prior to July 31, 2024 (based on PCL SHB rules).
  16. I can't wait to follow your adventures around the Galapagos! We'll be on the Flora on a similar Northern Loop track in early December. I know from prior experience, you're going to have a great time on the Xpedition!!
  17. This is for those interested, especially if HAL is included as an applicable Carnival cruise line, in the next week or two, on the StockPerks app. I just loaded at post #119 on page 5 the various screens we encountered while successfully applying for PCL Shareholder benefits. It's really quite easy once you've figured out which links to click and which ones to avoid.
  18. For those interested, here's the various screens we're seeing on the StockPerks App, once we were registered and initially attempting to manually upload our Brokerage Statement. First, I selected the Carnival Corp. & plc option. Then the Princess Cruises option Then the "Validate your portfolio to check eligibility" option Notice the Plaid option is set as the default. This is where I changed the option to Alina, which allowed us to manually upload a photo (or file copy) of your brokerage statement. I initially clicked Next with the default Plaid option set, which takes you to a screen with some Brokerages listed. I then clicked ours, which took me to our Broker's login screen. That's when we said "heck no" to this, until we found out about the Alinea option. We then clicked on the "Add File" option, which allowed us to upload the document. We subsequently received approval of the document we uploaded about 3 hours later. We are now in the process of submitting SOBC requests for 2 bookings that sail within the current authorized timeframe. Here's a fun fact. NCL was also listed on our brokerage form, which was also recorded in our account, and we can now also request SOBC for NCL cruises. Just as a side note. On the initial Companies screen where I selected the Carnival option, I later went to the bottom of that screen and I look what I found, RC and NCL links. The interesting thing is that there has been no mention on any of the applicable CC Forums that Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines are also being listed here. 🤔
  19. Interesting. In any event, I'm just glad we found out about the StockPerks "Alivea" option after clicking on the Princess option, which allowed us to manually upload a picture of our brokerage statement.
  20. Since this will be the OP's first time cruising with Princess, I just thought I'd point out that annoying fact just in case they made the assumption there would be at least two places to sit in a regular balcony cabin. A pleasure we have come to take for granted on every other cruise line we've sailed with.
  21. I take it you used the Alivea option, which allows you to manually upload your brokerage statement, rather than the default Plaid option which requires you to log onto your brokerage account?
  22. OK, we just completed the initial process to upload our current brokerage statement. Now we wait for up to 2 days for the manual "approval process" to take place before we can actually request SOBC to be reapplied to 2 of the 3 cruises we have booked that sail prior to July 31, 2024.
  23. Doing the math, $100 pp/day, plus $60 pp/day for the Princess Plus package, sounds like a pretty good deal to me, especially if it's an itinerary that interests you. But here's my question for you. How much more is a Premium Deluxe aft-facing cabin that include a sofa? I believe the regular balcony only includes one desk chair to sit in.
