I may have to try the califlower again. I tried it once and didn't enjoy it but that was years ago. I didn't enjoy Rudi's the first time I tried it and it took me a few years to go back. I do go to club orange for almost all my breakfasts. For dinner I think it's really good and do go less to specialty. I wish it was open at lunch. I really don't like the lido.

Yup, I did that two about 10 days ago. Crickets.

I’d forgotten about the Dover sole in sel de mer. After years of hearing people rave about it I’d put it at the same level as the mahi mahi, very average. If the op is a steak fan I would definitely go to the pinnacle. That’s the place for it.

I thought all of us were giving opinions 😛😂. I’ve seen a number of things raved about on this board before. When I follow those suggestions I’ve been disappointed.

They already have. A cosmo used to be at the $11 mark now it’s $12. For a Canadian that’s over $16. It’s not that expensive in the city I live in and the cruise line booze is cheap for them to buy.

I’ve had it a few times and it’s overcooked every time even though I ask them not to. It didn’t have much flavour either. The club orange halibut was so good but it was tiny, maybe one of two ounces. That said I think I’m a pretty fine cook and the halibut I’ve cooked at home won’t win any awards.

At least those seem to be more worthwhile things to do. It’s not my idea of fun but it’s more in than colouring 🙄.

It’s expensive enough already and it average at best. Usually the only time I go there it’s to use a freebie. They are always running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I don’t notice that in any other specialty. That doesn’t deserve a price increase.

It must have been bad. I think I ate there 4 times on the koningsdam and it was all excellent. I ate at the pinnacle once and that was 2 times to much.

I agree the lamb is good in the pinnacle I don’t think it does well with fish. The halibut is not good at all. It was excellent in club orange. The last time I had salmon in the pinnacle it was of very poor quality. I had scallops in the pinnacle and those were fine. The fish has been excellent in Rudi’s with the exception of the Mahi mahi which was average at best.

Yup I think you've got it. It's hals arbitrary decision of what it considers a better location.

I like that too. Usually I meet peeps in the cabana or just organically like you say. It's just better when it's not forced.

I think they even tried to get me to share in the pinnacle one night but I looked at him like he had 2 heads and a tail. I’m pretty sure that what he said anyway. I didn’t ask what he said again and he didn’t say it again. I did notice people at the next table were eating together and asking questions of each other like they just met, and they probably did. I didn’t notice anything like that again after that night.

That’s how they try to get you to bite with the old wait excuse.

Yes you can. You would just pay for one if you get the fifty dollar deal. Sometimes it seems like a lot more if you buy it packaged with the fare.

Easy. Go to Rudi’s. The pinnacle is easily the worst specialty.

That tart in Canaletto is the best dessert on the ship I feel. It’s so good. Frankly I have no idea why people love the cafeteria so much for breakfast. The mdr is so civilized. It’s only open 8 to 9:30 sea days and 7:30 to 9 on port days. Those are the usual hours. I believe the breakfast buffet closes at 10:30 am so I can’t imagine why people were waiting.

That’s a first. On my last cruise I ordered twice at the pizza place through the app. First time it took 20 min. Second time it’s said something strange like new, instead of in progress. After about 10 min I walked over and the guy said the app wasn’t working. No indication of that. I ordered and it in person and it was ready in 10 min. All the app seems to do is slow things down. You’d think it would be the opposite.

Several people have said that doesn't work. Most of the time it does for me but not every time.

It would be good for sure. I'm assuming because it's too labor intensive but that purely a guess.

No, it doesn't seem to be an option on hal unless you want to do it for everyone across the board not just one person.

The extra charge for the pinnacle isn't new. It's been talked about at length. It's been at least 6 months. The school room with desks are for those that enjoy the coloring "classes" that they seem to really like to push.

Its nice to have the smaller dining room. There may or may not be a line for club orange. I've had both situations. I believe that 4191 is a VB so that wouldn't be an option. Sometimes in the MDR they really like you to sit with others. I've never felt that pressure in club orange. There is only one extra entree in club orange. I find the food is much hotter in club orange.
