Somebody sounded like they were making things up or they don’t know what seafood is.

The rustic lasagna was on the mdr menu not Canaletto. Canaletto did have lasagna but not the rustic one.

That’s the old menu. I thought it was odd that the eurodam had the new menu. Take a look at the menu I posted in post 2 (link). It a lot different.

I agree, the atmosphere is definitely lacking. I’ve found the food over the years has gotten light years better. No one hated Canaletto more than I did. From the old menu the osso bucco was so good along with the veggie risotto and seafood soup. The new menu doesn’t look great, especially for $29 iirc. Hal is out pricing it’s specialty restaurants. I had zero problems getting a reservation onboard for any time I liked on my last cruise. It’s certainly wasn’t like that before in my experience.

According to the Rotterdam menu there is a daily specials but it doesn’t appear it’s written in stone like they used to be.

This is a menu right from the Rotterdam so that’s as good as it gets. The gnocchi wasn’t good when I had it. I don’t think it should be doughy. It’s been a while since I had the lamb but it used to be good.

I think it’s only the Rotterdam. Oh those supply chain issues 😛. Maybe they need to share information with other cruise lines within the ccl family that aren’t having these issues such as carnival and Princess

Same. I sent a lot of positive comments about the crew because many of them were so good. Never heard a peep.

It sure seems like that. Raised the price too on top of it.

I agree. I love that seafood soup. It’s delicious. I really love the veggie risotto too.

I didn’t make a fuss whatever that means 🙄. I didn’t get up on a couch and scream no. I simple no is all you need to say. Why make drama out of something when no drama occurred?

You don’t even need to go that far. Just google it. No app required.

That’s exactly what I do. I don’t really understand the angst. It doesn’t kill me to put my food on my plate on my lap. What do people do if they go to something like an outdoor barbecue without tables? I’m speaking on land not on a ship.

I’ve never “had” to sign those slips. I wish people would stop saying this. If enough people refuse maybe they’ll stop. Not once was I ever forced to sign a slip. I simply say no and no one has ever challenged me on that. I’m not buying the excuse that people are saying they didn’t have the drink. I bet that happens on all ships. If a few are saying that make them sign the slips then.

It’s completely stupid to me. It started for me on my second week on the koningsdam in November, thanksgiving week. The only time I’ve ever tipped more was on my last cruise when aha sparkling water in the blueberry pomegranate was in short supply. The bartender phoned/asked around and found 6 and kept them cold for me ❤️. I asked around at several bars and came up empty so it’s not as easy as it sounds. That’s the only time I’ve given an additional tip since the 18 percent came in to existence.

Not you really but when it’s posted about using shorex “obc” it’s obvious you can’t use that. It doesn’t even show up on your statement so that would be interesting to use.

Yes it is of course possible on hal. Many, many of us have posted the same. I’m not sure how it continues to be doubted.

On my last 2 cruises they’ve started that nonsense up again. I believe you can add an extra tip. In most cases I feel 18 percent is enough. I give cash in the very odd instance when it’s not. I refuse to sign the slip.

Ok thanks. It didn’t sound like you were doing a lot of shorex but maybe I misread. I think I’d rather go hungry than deal with the cafeteria in the morning. I do get room service in the morning when doing a early shorex. It works quite well if you fill out the card. I get ready while I waiting for it to show.

Why not go to the mdr for breakfast? I don’t know why people love the cafeteria so much. It’s a zoo. The mdr is so civilized.

For some reason I want to say this has been discussed and it would be a cancel and rebook incurring penalties. That said , it might have been on another cruise line or may not have happened at all and I’m thinking of something else. Best is to contact hal if that situation ever comes up.

I did this a few years back and the day was way too long for what I got out of it. The Grand Canyon is much more impressive than this was. If you love trains that might be a bigger draw.
