No cruises I’m taking are going with empty cabins. Last November mine were over capacity. It’s the same old same old stories brought up over and over to explain Hal’s behaviour that don’t hold water.
Sure there is. All high star mariners, people that spend their last 10 paycheques in the casino and people that spend all their money in the jewelry store are the only ones that get them ;). I don't believe this but according to some of the posts I've read this is the way you get them. No one else.
How does giving huge discounts for cabins help them stay "healthy" when they could have sold that cabin? There is no way someone that got a $10,000 cruise for nothing is going to spend well over $10K. There is no way to rationalize that although I know some will try.
To me, it seems like it’s in hal best interest to provide this. As it is some people refuse to stay in their cabin when sick. If there is less incentive to do that I expect that there will be even more Covid transmission. Before someone starts up I’m a rule follower so I don’t need incentive to do that right thing.
Yes, that exactly it. It’s very simple if you care to think about it for 2 seconds instead of making it about something that it isn’t. It’s not the casino fares that I’m talking about. It’s the freebies out of the blue.
Probably not but it’s super annoying to me. I’ve wanted to do that Amazon cruise for years and years but no way will I ever pay $10 k to hal after seeing that. It’s not just that one person either. I’ve read somewhere else on this board that someone got the same “deeply discounted” cruise.
You never know. I’ve had good luck the last several years. It is a little nicer on the pinnacle ships but I get what you are saying. It’s almost always boiling hot in there as well. I really do like a specialty restaurant and I really don’t like the pinnacle anymore so it’s cutting down my choices. I will have club orange on my next cruise and I find it stacks up pretty nicely to the specialty.
Nope. There was a long thread the other day. It may still be active. It was all about people that didn’t spend a red cent in the casino getting free cruises. I’m not talking about the start up. The $10,000 cruise is an Amazon cruise leaving next February. If I get an offer like that I’ll be retiring just to take them up on that. Guess my employer won’t have to worry about that.
Here is a link to the thread I’m talking about
What? Someone is getting a $10000 cruise for just port tax. Please explain to me how hal is making money on that. I can hardly wait but I’m guessing I’ll be hearing crickets.
🤮. I still hate it when people shake my hand even when they don’t look the least bit sick. I’ve had people grab my phone when I’m showing them something. Had people grab my mouse at work. Just don’t ! I never do that to others.
Are they though? I know people love to rationalize Hal’s behaviour. If you are drinking triples and marking them down that seems like a pretty shady person. The concierge is in their most of the time. Don’t you think they would see that?
It’s been like that on every cruise I’ve been on. It was especially bad on the koningsdam thanksgiving cruise last November. I heard people saying they were sick and coughing up a lung yet they were all around the ship. Same in the cabanas. I simply don’t know what’s wrong with people. This is why I refuse to eat with anyone or go to shows. I also wear a mask most of the time indoors. Luckily I have not had Covid.
You are smart knowing the lido is a zoo. Avoid it as much as possible. Every cruise I took in 2021 and 2022 on the koningsdam the mdr was closed on embarkation. I did look. I’m pretty sure that’s all in the past now for every ship.
Well someone has to pay for all the free cruises they give away like candy 🤪.
It’s cheap as heck not to have free drinks as part of the Neptune perks at least part of the day.
