2 dollar bills were very popular in the USA back when horse racing was so much more popular than it is now as most bets and the payouts were based on 2 dollar amounts. If you spent an afternoon at the races, it’s more than likely you came home with more than a few 2 dollar bills. I never heard that they were unlucky.

Agree, on land and at sea.

We usually on the last night give our waiters 20 each and also the cabin steward. To tell the truth if the automatic gratuities keep rising much higher, we might cut out the extra cash.

Greetings from beautiful Punta Gorda Another cool day with more rain on the way, so far this winter Florida hasn’t been the Sunshine State The quote makes sense but could be debatable even though my home town of Chicago is the town that Billy Sunday couldn’t put down (from the song “Chicago”) I like garlic mashed potatoes once in awhile Have a great day and stay well- 87 replies

Such Negativity-Anything Positive to Say?
MISTER 67 replied to Jamietravelstheworld's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We’ve been on 10 cruises since the post-pandemic startup, 5 with Celebrity. Cruising for whatever reasons has changed and is not the same product pre-pandemic, not just with Celebrity but with just about all the other lines. That being said we have still had very good cruises with only 1 that was disappointing and that was with Holland America. I would not hesitate booking with Celebrity if I were you, in fact we are sailing on the Equinox next month on a 9 day cruise to Grand Cayman and the ABC islands. -

We don’t care for most of the Production shows, DW calls them angry singing and dancing but that goes for most of the cruise lines, we walked out of 2 Production shows on the Sky Princess in December. No complaints we the other entertainment.- 85 replies

Greetings from beautiful Punta Gorda. Another unusually cool day and week coming up here in the Sunshine State. Not sure about the quote. I would try the vegetable lasagna. Greed has the NFL with a 17 game schedule which gives us playoff games in January with temperatures around zero and blizzards, not fair to the fans or players, had to vent on this, football is a game meant to be played in the fall months. Have a great day and stay well.- 81 replies

Greetings from beautiful Punta Gorda. So far this has been the lousiest winter in our 30 years in Florida, haven’t worn shorts on the golf course in 3 weeks, of course things could be worse as my hometown of Chicago is buried in snow with temps below zero for the next 3 days. Good quote and I like black bean soup. One of my favorite cocktails is a CC with Ginger Ale Highball. Have a great day and stay well.- 80 replies

We alternate between Celebrity, Princess and Holland America. Right now we have scratched HAL off the list as we had 2 cruises that were not the HAL that we have sailed 25 times with. We’re not happy with all the extra charges on Celebrity but they still have a good product and we will for the time being alternate between X and Princess.

@StLouisCruisers Enjoyed your photos, Nha Trang has certainly changed a lot since 1967. I would love to go back but it’s just too far away and as I mentioned numerous times we will don’t care for air travel.- 117 replies

This is unacceptable, how does stuff like this happen on a mainstream cruise line. That being said we have been on 5 Celebrity cruises since the startup in late 2021, we sailed on the Equinox 3 times, the Reflection and the Infinity one time each and all 5 cruises the ships were very clean and despite their age, in very good shape. The only thing that we saw that needed attention were the condition of the verandas.
-
Yep, those were great days, some meals included caviar and champagne. The cruise lines were there to give you a memorable time and not fleece you at every chance they could get.
-
We are old time cruisers and refuse to eat in specialty restaurants or order the up- charge meals in the MDR.

Another thing is who will buy these behemoths when it’s time to sell them, most lines that buy mainstream cruise line ships are smaller European lines. -

Some vacation with 7,000 others, most of them kids. -
We’ve been on 72 cruises with 5 on MSC and never experienced a cabin steward leaving an envelope on the last day.
