  1. We started cruising back in 1988 on Royal Caribbean and the food was excellent in the MDR. We cruised again in 1990 and Royal started to introduce the specialty dining with one restaurant at 20.00. We weren’t impressed to pay extra $$ to eat in a specialty restaurant when we already paid for our cruise including food. As I stated there food was excellent. I felt back then as I do now the more we paid extra for specialty food, this will be the norm and food won’t be included in your fare. This is my personal opinion.
  2. I agree that 42.00 is very pricey for any restaurant on the sea. All the food on a cruise ship comes from the same place The Kitchen!!!
  3. My son booked a cove balcony on Magic because of the bigger cabin and privacy for his wife when breast feeding their 7 month old. Now we are on Venezia and still on deck 2 for a cove balcony. I didn’t think Costa had cove balconies so are the cabins being reconfigured to Carnival standard?
  4. Thanks for the great suggestion. We are leaving on July 13 with our 7 month old grandson and this keeps the privacy for the parents.
  5. I would say because the ship hasn’t sail from Carnival ports yet. The ship is being refitted for Carnival standards. Once she sails maybe her ratings will increase.
  6. On a RCCL cruise back in 1990 they introduced a “special dining” for $20.00 per person for the actual same food you received in the MDR. On this 7 day cruise didn’t see many people paying extra for this service. Fast forward 30 years and more people pay for this “special dining” the more other services for dining will be reduced.
  7. I originally booked four cabins directly with Carnival the end of October for a sail date of July 13, 2023. 3 inside cabins on deck 7 and one cove balcony on deck 2. I received my updated cabins on November 23 for Venezia. My 3 inside cabins are still on deck 7 and the balcony is on deck 2. Maybe it depends on your sail date.
  8. I booked 4 cabins for my family which will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. 3 cabins are all together on deck 7 and 1 cabin on deck 2 with a cove balcony. We are all listed as TBA. This will be only our 2nd cruise with Carnival but now it might be our last. Their email didn’t give us the option to cancel with a full deposit refund. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was waiting for November 21 to see what cabin assignment we get but nothing assigned yet.
  9. I just booked 4 cabins for our family on the Carnival Magic for July 13-17 2023. I would think if the Carnival Magic was being replaced by another ship I hope the manager I spoke with today would tell me. Is Costa owned by Carnival? Maureen
