  1. Satin ticket wallets, Lincoln Center, candied ginger from the Yum Yum Man.
  2. Bus not running on Sept 6th either... sigh....HAL hasn't responded re shuttles being offered.... Guess it's train or taxi. Somewhere in this misery is a missed opportunity to make gazillions!!!!
  3. Yikes!!! Between my makeup and shoes, that will be another 100 pounds….lol
  4. Gee this is a toughie. I'll be doing the same in Amsterdam. The cruise port area of Vancouver doesn't have many little stores for food/snacks. You might grab a cab and ask him to take you to nearest convenience or grocery store. Cost.....LOL.... it is Canada... so........ $30 Can for the 500ml cases of 18, or $35. Can for 12 one litre bottles. You can get cheaper water. Or if staying at a Vancouver hotel, ask the concierge or desk staff where to obtain . If you can't find any cases of water, grab a hotel bag, and start purchasing the single paks up to your allowance from a convenience store. They have so many types and brands of water, the world is your oyster.... even CBD infused 🙂 Usually there is a port store for the crew??? I believe you tape a cabin tag on the case, and turn the case in at the same time as your luggage
  5. Best way to do ALL of the above is with Paddy Campbell !!!! He's the best! https://belfastblackcabtours.co.uk
  6. I agree, we had a wonderful time there, and often spoke of renting an airbnb next time vs the hotel. Land based tours are great, but a car rental gives you so much freedom.
  7. Getting there from South Queensferry pier? Did you take Lothian 98 to St Andrew's and then the Hop on/off bus to Ocean Pier? Your opinion of experiance? Did you take tea or lunch?Shopping?
  8. Exactly I don't understand the added overnighter in South Queensferry, they offered two excursions, mostly bus rides around the country. A free shuttle bus running back and forth into downtown Edinburgh would have been acceptable. Very poor planning on HAL part. (planned 2nights in Reykjavik, now 2 nights in South Queensferry, and the potential for 2nights in Akureyri) I wonder if it has anything to do with not enough excursion providers or providers pulling out last minute?? Oh well... will go with the flow...literally..
  9. I also have a port stop here, and concerned that HAL will add another night in Akureyri without offering any extra tour options. They have already cancelled our stop in Invergordon, and added another night in South queensferry without any other tour options. I love Akureyri, but would love to hit the ground running with the other thousands seeking the same options. I agree with "needing a car here to get around". There are lots of tour companies, but they fill fast.
  10. To my knowledge if you are on antibiotics, you are no longer contagious after 48 hrs of treatment.
  11. Old eyes.... sigh... you are correct!!! Easy peasy now.
  12. I would check how many ships are in port before deciding.
  13. Unless you book a private transfer/excursion, you will need to get an expensive taxi, or take the bus. I don't think you'll be wanting to pull luggage to the nearest Blue Lagoon bus stop from Skarfabakki, so maybe take a taxi to bus stop or bus terminal and go from there. I believe Blue Lagoon bus goes directly to KEF from the lagoon, so that should be easy to arrange, but you will have all your gear with you. You are correct there are 2 harbours, the old one near the Harpa, and the new one that most large cruise ships use. (in opposite direction from the Harpa) Maybe you meant taking a transfer/taxi to KEF, store luggage there, then make your way to Blue Lagoon, free of cumbersome bags. Nothing's cheap in Iceland, just beautiful, including their people.
  14. hahahahaahahahahaha😂 There's always more than one way to skin a cat.😂
  15. Well Capt Kate on the Beyond has her cat Bug Naked with her 24/7. Is it a case of rules for some and not for others??? I honestly would imagine the Celebrity Pax would have a melt down if Bug was removed. He's a "celebrity". I don't have an issue with therapy dogs, they can fill the ship for all I care, but the scammers..... grrrrr. But I'm still NOT bringing the bossy Aussie.
  16. Does HAL allot a number of cabins for each segment? If so when do they release those cabins for shorter durations, or is it an always revolving cabin status. ie cabins for 3 wk itinerary aren't specific and can be booked for 1 week or 2 week segments?
  17. Never had to worry about transporting diabetic needs that require cooling. How do you do it?? I bought those freezer tubes to insert into it's little carrier, but will these stay cool for 3hrs pre-flight + 8 hr flight then getting to hotel ? I don't want to go down the portable freezer unit equipment. Wouldn't normally carry extra med, but now being encouraged to do so for pen failure etc. It's the extra med that needs to be kept cool until opening. Do these little freezer tubes freeze the vial or just keep the vial cool?? Thoughts???
  18. Gee... well, I called our insurance carrier Green Shield and asked them if they topped up insurance for trips beyond 30 days, & if not who did they recommend. They gave me their number . What was the top up carrier's name & number? Can't remember it was a few years back.
  19. Here's a visual... Captain Kate's Great Dane Harvey, sitting in her chair at the helm. Hat on, brandy snifter in paw, steering the side thrusters.... bet Bug would have his nose out of joint!
