  1. In early 2023, Plus was offered At Par for Canadians (so $60 Canadian, rather than $80 Canadian). I have not seen this offered in 2024 yet.
  2. They are heated, but not much, and the pools are frequently drained and refilled with unheated water. So with those factors in mind, be prepared for inconsistent water temperatures. Sometimes it's comfortable and awesome, and sometimes men become women.
  3. Japan is #1 on our bucket list. We've booked Japan twice, and cancelled twice (second time in 2020). 2025 marks 20 years of our relationship and we both really wanted to make our dream come true. I was thrilled when I saw these new itineraries for Fall 2025! We booked the 13-day trip in November immediately and could not be more excited!
  4. California Coastal cruise in September. I wonder if there's a plan to increase rates soon?
  5. I'm Canadian and my Princess app has Crown Grill priced at $63 per person. It doesn't specify the currency, but I've only ever seen USD on Princess apps.
  6. If Princess won't do this, you could order la carte on the Princess app and split your dishes that way. Pay for the items you order and enjoy your meal in a lounge!
  7. If they brought back the at par promo, I'd immediately book 4-5 cruises to cover all vacation plans for the next two years. LOL Instead I've been pricing options since November without making a single booking. The prices are insane compared to what I paid a year ago! 50-100% more for the same thing?! Yeesh.
  8. I noticed others commenting with the same problem on Princess' Facebook page. They responded that their web team are aware of the issue and working on it. Hopefully not much longer.
  9. I've been dealing with this too for days. Tried different browsers, clearing caches, private browsing, etc. Also Canadian. You'd think Princess would be quicker to resolve this after maybe noticing Canadians stopped booking? LOL
  10. If these were my options, I'd go with Sapphire. She's a great ship with a lot of great viewing areas for scenic cruising. The later date also means kids are back in school, so the ship will be less crowded.
  11. This is the funny thing--I searched by Plus (not Premier) and prices jumped by over $100CDN per day. This doesn't happen consistently, just sometimes. Princess is having some significant issues in their coding.
  12. Princess' website seems to be having all sorts of problems, atleast for this Canadian. I can't get any further than choosing a cabin before getting an error message (all day, no matter the device, clearing my cache or using a private browser), and if I change my search to include Plus the price goes up from anywhere between $80 per day (normal) to $110 per day (totally wrong). I guess I'll keep waiting for an acceptable price because YIKES the price per day is 50% higher than it was a year ago!!
  13. I don't disagree. It comes down to what we value--what we get vs what we're paying. For years we spent an average of $200 CDN per day for a cruise (all in). Last year we priced cruise options with Princess with Plus, and it came to $400 CDN per day, which felt comfortable and had a fantastic trip. Right now, comparable cruises are over to $600 CDN per day, a 50% increase. It just isn't justifiable for us at the moment.
  14. I'm really hopeful a Canadian at Par deal comes available again. I just can't justify the current fares.
  15. Anyone else find that Princess' prime rib tastes like ham? Oddly sweet? Not to my taste at all and a waste of a good cut of meat seasoning it like that.
  16. For non-Canadians, The Keg is considered by a lot of people as a higher-end restaurant, so to call it "decent" provides a lot of context to this review. For another context, The Keg is one of my favourite restaurants and I consider myself very picky when it comes to steaks. I was on the Sapphire in April/May this year and thought the food was mostly really good. There were misses in the buffet (to be expected) and we found that the MDR quality was exceptionally better when we arrived at 5pm. Anytime we had dinner later, the quality declined significantly. The key is to time your meals to when they're at their most fresh.
  17. The Princess app would not accept my husband's credit card, no matter how many phone calls we made to have it fixed. It always came up as invalid, even though it was the card used to pay for the cruise fare. Ultimately we had to enter my credit card, and we had it switched to his card when we got on board. .... then we booked another cruise and surprise, surprise, the app won't take his card again. LOL
  18. As a Canadian at Platinum level, if there is at At Par deal, Plus is absolutely worth it for us. At that rate it's about 3 alcoholic drinks to break even. Without the par deal and considering **Platinum gets 50% off wifi, it becomes more iffy (approx five alcoholic drinks per day). We also enjoy our speciality coffees but don't 'need' them by any means. The question is super subjective on our drinking habits. **But seriously Princess, when are you gonna discount Plus to account for Platinum/Elite's 50% off wifi? We get less value out of Plus which seems like a silly oversight. Offer even $5 off per day on Plus for Platinum/Elite and the question to "Plus or not" becomes less of an issue!
  19. I recently booked a Mexico cruise at a Canadian at Par promo, and the cost of Plus was also on par, but not advertised as such! I only realized when I crunched numbers. It was a pleasant surprise as we weren't planning to get Plus, but at that value it was impossible to say no!
  20. LOL They weren't even that old! We're mid to late thirties and the death-stares probably came from people mid to late fifties. We laughed it off. 🙂
  21. On Sapphire April 29-May 10, a crew member was checking medallions for entry to the platinum/elite lounge each evening. Despite this, when my husband and I sat down (we're platinum), we got some DIRTY stares from older passengers. It felt like a few people thought we shouldn't be there. Thanks random strangers for being weird? LOL
  22. I never saw this on Sapphire in April/May.
  23. There were days when the pools were warmer than the hot tubs! I think we had ONE day where the hot tubs felt hot, and it was heavenly. We foolishly believed they would be the same the next day but nope, the temp dropped significantly.
  24. We had Plus for our 11-day cruise to Alaska. We absolutely for our money's worth as we both enjoy speciality coffees, beer and cocktails. It was especially nice to order things we've never tried before, because it wasn't a big deal if we didn't like them! However we did feel a "need" to drink lots to get our money's worth. But even without that mindset, we still got great value from the package. We initially agreed not to get Plus on our next cruise except... the Canadian on Par deal also applied to Plus! So for $60 Canadian, how could we not get Plus again?! LOL
  25. Well we had one night recently where my husband forgot he was wearing sweatpants when we arrived at the MDR and were seated without issue. LOL (He was so embarrassed when he realized it, but we got a chuckle out of it anyways haha)
