Was this in the days where they could instantly test you for covid to rule that in or out?

The Pearl noro outbreak was April 2019 on the T/A and though there was something with lettuce in the news in America. I wonder what we really had.

How do you know what the medical crew would say?

Regardless if the medical crew had told the passengers to stay in the cabins then they would have been making the correct decision even if it was with wrong diagnosis

But the medical team on board a cruise ship are capable of diagnosing illnesses the same as a GP is.

I imagine there are covid testing kits on board the ships for example for the cruise medical team to use?

I have food posioning number 2 was coming out green gp said immodium on the phone walk in centre said antibotics after getting a sample tested. It was chicken. Would medical centre test sample they never tested sample when i had "noro" on the NCL Pearl which i dispute I had by the way.

I'm a little confused, but if I'm reading it right... Unless you're booking 2 people in a cabin, you wouldn't have to pay for 2 plane tickets - even if you're in a regular cabin as a solo. You'd just be buying the ticket for yourself. (That being said, you'll often find better airfare deals on your own rather than going through the cruiseline.)

I wouldn't wait too long to book that solo cabin if you're going to. I'm in one on the Anthem in February. There were 3 or 4 left when I booked and less than a month after I did they were gone.

Already booked one for the T/A in April there are only about 3 left now I think maybe 4

Ok but idk which TA you are on, which ship. There arent that many of these cabins to start with. My objection when I was assigned one on radiance was I had just broken my wrist badly and was sleeping with it propped up on pillows and sleeping surrounded by pillows both side. I couldnt have slept in a twin bed. Some ships it's one twin bed.

Anthem of the seas next April NJ-Soton. According to the website only seems to be a handful left. I am happy I got one because I wasn't looking forward to maybe having to pay 2 flight costs for both beds in the cabin. I wasn't sure if I would get the second bed cruise only.

I was looking on the Cruise Planner for the Nov. 12th sailing on the Anthem and I didn't see "We Will Rock You" listed to sign up for, just Spectra's Cabaret.  Does anyone know if they are still doing "We Will Rock You" on the Anthem?

You don't need to sign up. You only need to book the spectres cabaret. All the other shows where just walk ins. It was that way on the T/A back in April.

Regarding NCL, yes they are finally jumping on having something outward facing, but most of theirs are still little more than indoor padded coffins.

You need a special keycard to access the solo cabin area on NCL larger ships. They have their own bar/lounge area within for solo's to mix. I think that makes up for the coffin like appearance of the rooms.

Let's keep this thread about ships and vacations. Remove your tinfoil hat or find an alternative chat forum.

Musica is heading for Cyprus now and will be in Haifa in two days. There is no reported fighting in the North and Royal Caribbean docked successful in Haifa on Sunday.

Remember what happened back in the 1985 with the achille lauro. Ok that was in the med and these ships are going into their back yard. Because Haifa hasn't been affected doesn't mean it wont' be.

Which ships have them? Trying to plan a family vacation in Fall of 2025. Wanted to know what ship to start with a Caribbean Cruise I know the cruises are far from being posted but just wanted for my own reference. Thanks !

I think the larger ones Anthem, Wonder etc have them I  have just booked on for Anthem T/A in April. They have a few but not many not as many as NCL.

I agree. Just let them roam the ship infecting others. A much better idea. Have we not learnt anything over the last three years?

"Food posioning" is NOT contagious from person to person it is from probably wrongly cooked food to customer.

No I didn’t report it. I really didn’t fancy being interrogated by the on board medical people. I probably should have done

You would have been locked in the cabin for at least 2 days if you had? So probably best that you didn't.

Any ship going to either Bayonne, Manhattan or Brooklyn has to go under the bridge.  So there is no problem docking anywhere because of it.  Royal has their reasons why they dock where they dock.

The Icon, Wonder, and Star and probably Harmony won't fit under the bridge they are too big for any of those 3 ports?

to get to the brooklyn cruise terminal, the ship still has to sail under the bridge

cape liberty is royal main terminal that's where the ships will always go. its rare to see a royal ship at brooklyn or manhattan terminal

I know that and my point is there is no way to operate any ship larger than Anthem with tenders from beyond the bridge. It is too far to the Brooklyn Terminal. So without NYC isn't most of the east coast out of the running apart from Miami and FL.

This the problem they are going to have moving forward 1 large ship might have to be in europe full time?

I wonder where it will sail from Summer 2025? Perhaps a summer in the Med, then come over to USA but what will be homeport?

Would have to be Miami/Fort Lauderdale it couldn't be NYC would never fit under the Verrazzano Narrows bridge and it couldn't operate tender boarding or disembarking it is too far to the Brooklyn Cruise terminal.

Then most likely it was  expensive enough cabin the TA gave up 100 of his commission.

Or as ourusualbeach said there were group rates. He is a TA as you can often tell from his posts. Arguing with a knowledgeable TA doesnt make you right lol.

No the agency was doing an event a hotel the cruise lines had tables with reps but those reps couldn't book the customer directly you had to go and speak to the bookings team. I was offered price by the line and told to go see the agent. Agent price was higher and I said look just match what the line said or i go direct to them and they did it.
