  1. R (effective April 19, 2019; but can back-fill data, if available) Ship: Millenium Length of Cruise: 7 night Cruise Sail Date: 22 July 2022 Date email offer received: used Moveup Captain’s Club Tier [“PREVIEW” = first Celebrity Cruise]: Classic Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA: Direct Current Cabin: OV Bid? Yes/No: Yes If YES - Bidding Details: Cabin Category: Sunset Veranda Bid Offer: $325 (minimum $300) Notification Date: 25 June Accepted / Rejected: Pending General Comments- also bid on Veranda (min $100?), Concierge (min $200?), and Family (min $200?). Minimum + a small amount on everything except Family (bid $325). All in poor bids (including the Sunset Veranda) except Family which was just into the best bid category. All expired on the 25th except the Sunset. Will be very disappointed if we don't win it since there are many many regular verandas available. Sorry that they don't leave that option available. No idea how long it may take them to decide.
  2. Rarely entirely down here in Denver but often sloooooow. Really really slow.
  3. It is but not always happily. Perhaps in big international stores where they expect to get a lot of cash, but anyplace else it is really a pain for the merchant. There is usually a charge for exchanging money, and it can be very time consuming. Stop at an ATM machine and get a small amount of Canadian cash- or a lot if you expect to be spending a lot. It will really be appreciated. It is a foreign country despite it feeling a lot like home.
  4. Is there another code for upgraded non-alcohol upgrades? We upgraded my friend but she also has PALL on her express pass.
  5. The trip up from Vancouver is lovely and far more interesting than the open ocean cruising from Seattle. The scenery is amazing. Also much less rough. So I would strongly vote for the Vancouver trip. In fact have- 5th trip next month-only 1 out of Seattle.
  6. Ah- I do see PALL. Thanks. Also see CALL, whatever that is. Of course- my travel companion also has PALL on her pass which is interesting- she actually has the upgraded non-alcohol package. Will check out the other places including order history but as long as it is someplace I'm fine. The email receipts are so simple that anyone wanting to cheat could so easily mock one up. Not something I wanted to rely on.
  7. I don't see anyplace where you COULD upload your test info- at least, not on the Arrid aveCAN used to fly in. Unless they have added it since last I was on the website. I did call last week and spoke with someone who obviously had no idea what they were talking about. They insisted that Canada did NOT require a test before boarding a cruise ship in Canada or one that will go to Canada. And kept denying that what I was asking about- the quote above- even existed. I have given up trying to understand what to do- I will have the ArriveCAN to enter Canada and all the paperwork that I can gather up and keep my fingers crossed. Tested and vaccinated and boosted. Happily we are in the earliest boarding group (for Alaska although Hawaii sounds lovely!) and staying at the Pan Pacific at the port so whatever we might still need to do it won't be too awful.
  8. Months ago I added the premium alcohol and non-alcohol drink packages to our July cruise. I have the receipts but do no see these noted anyplace on our reservations. Am I looking in the wrong place? Or do I just show the receipts at the dock? On a call to Celebrity some time ago they did see the upgrade but nothing on what I can see.
  9. Sounds a lot like the small boat we took off a Carnival ship several years back- there was a lot of ice and we really didn't get all that close to the glacier. Closer than the ship of course but still a long way out. If memory serves, there is a point where you can go right or left to one of the two glaciers. We didn't get beyond that point. The cost of the two trips (the one from the ship and the long day from Juneau) is about the same- but the time spent is very different. The 7 hours is a very long day- hoping that the trip to and from the glacier area is worth while. Still trying hard to book the shorter ship based trip to Hubbard Glacier- totally booked which is all my fault.
  10. How close did you get to the glacier? We are on this excursion next month and excited about it as it gets very good reviews.
  11. Perhaps you should check online and see if they are actually expecting you! Maybe the good fairy paid off your cruise? Computers can't ALWAYS work against us- sometimes they must be our friends.
  12. I would rather discover that I was positive before I infected a shipload of people. Even if I wasn't symptomatic, I would prefer to protect others who might not be as lucky.
  13. Just received a very nice email about my upcoming cruise- things to do, opportunities for excursions, etc. Except- they proclaimed that it was less than 30 days before I sailed. HUH? After double checking that they in fact had me booked on the cruise that I thought I was on- it is 35 day until I sail. Little things mean a lot.
  14. It may be old but was taken from the government website yesterday. There may be conflicting information on different government websites.
  15. From Canadian Government Website: " Passenger obligations Pre-boarding a cruise ship Passengers must take a COVID-19 molecular test within 72-hours before boarding a cruise ship or take an antigen test within one day of the scheduled departure. Before their cruise departs, a traveller will need to enter their trip information into the ArriveCAN website. Passengers seeking a medical contraindication or religious belief exemption will need to contact their cruise line to see if these are permitted. These exemptions are very limited."
  16. This thread had me concerned but we are lucky- only two ships in port when we are there and one is <1,000 people, other one 2,100. So a reasonably easy day, I hope! Reading this I remember our last time in Vancouver- it was a ZOO. And we have the earliest boarding time so if all goes well we should be onboard quickly.
  17. I think that the 21 day notice is a computer generated notice which actually means- move-up bids are not yet available for your cruise. Mine said that until 71 days out it took me to the bidding site. Have read multiple posts on CC which have said about the same thing. And I don't remember getting an invitation to bid.
  18. We lucked out- bought tickets in early Feb on Air Canada. Direct flight from Denver to Vancouver business class cost half what the economy ticket now costs on the same flight. Our business class return on United from Anchorage is the same as what the economy tickets cost. Now if I had only been so clever about flying back east later this summer 😕
  19. Lucky you- testing not to be required to return to the US as of tomorrow.
  20. From the ArriveCAN cruise website: " Proof of a professionally administered or observed negative antigen test taken no more than 2 days before you’re scheduled to board your ship the 2-day window does not depend on the time of day the test was taken or the time that you board for example, if your ship is scheduled to leave on Friday, you could provide proof of a negative result from an antigen test taken any time on Wednesday, Thursday, or on Friday it must be administered or observed by a pharmacy, laboratory, healthcare entity or telehealth online service the test must be authorized for sale or distribution in Canada or in the jurisdiction in which it was obtained"
  21. I have wondered that. I am going to call the ArriveCAN help desk tomorrow and get some clarification. And for what it’s worth- I can’t say it all makes sense but they seem very clear about it.
  22. Fine. However you wish to read it- I know what I will do. Have you read the posts about what happened in Victoria when the ship had not checked the ArriveCAN prior to boarding passengers? Have you read the posts about chaos at the port when many passengers had not completed the form? We will board in Vancouver easily with all forms completed.
  23. By water does not include cruise ships. Find the information on cruising. it has been quoted often. I’m really not interested in arguing. And the ArriveCAN was updated- I can just quote what they say.
  24. This is from the ArriveCan website (updated 5/26/2022): "Before boarding your cruise ship: all travellers must submit their embarkation test information into ArriveCAN within 72 hours of boarding a cruise,i ncluding Canadians and those who just used ArriveCAN to enter Canada" The embarkation test cannot be entered into the ArriveCAN you use to enter Canada. It MUST be entered into the ArriveCAN used to cruise. Hope that helps.
