  1. Agree, never understood the desire to take food off a ship..... There is food everywhere at every port......
  2. First time on Grandeur was last winter, great time and nice ship. Doing another 10 nights on her in January.
  3. No one is on the ship and they're free there. Also plenty of free ones on coco cay if you get there on time. RCCL must get a good laugh when people pay for a chair.
  4. Agree, we'd have no interest in a CP balcony.
  5. Wifi on Grandeur last winter was pretty bad. Had to roam the ship looking for decent reception, usually near the centrum or toward the back near the diamond lounge. That said, we loved the ship overall and will be there for 10 nights next winter. You can step on an elevator without waiting 10 minutes or packing in with 10 people. Windjammer isn't packed and chaotic. Deck chairs are available. We got on Symphony after Grandeur: Windjammer packed beyond belief, elevators a nightmare all day and all night, people laying on the floor on upper decks because loungers full at 7AM. We'll never do Oasis class and larger again.
  6. That sums it up nicely. Did it once and won't ever again.
  7. Agree, nothing special, once was enough.
  8. Yeah it was pretty funny actually. I finally said "there is our hotel, we can see it!" 🙂
  9. Agree FLL, airport and cruise port very close together. Except the time our Uber driver was clueless and drove in circles for half an hour 🙂
  10. If you've been anywhere near a grocery or gas station or restaurant the past couple years, it's obvious that MANY things are up more than the inflation rates one sees reported in the media.
  11. Dunns River is basically one big falls you climb up. Blue hole is more of a hike uphill, then work your way down a smaller river playing in the water and jumping into pools as you go. That's a general idea of each, you might want to look for some youtube videos to get a better idea of each. Both are unique and nice in their own way.
  12. Another real world report - just got my renewal, it took about 10 weeks, not expedited.
  13. 800 bucks is a lot just to avoid the walk unless there are physical issues with walking. Some people don't mind the walk at all. OP - there's no reason for concern regarding obstructions or privacy, aft cabins are great.
  14. The port area and island in general is a sh#ithole. Nice beaches etc once you're at them. Pretty much sums up Roatan.
  15. Take your time and enjoy the area. Ride a tram or walk, depends on your abilities. It's a nice area and walking is good if you can. Be prepared for aggressive sales people in the market, just stay out if you aren't up to it.
  16. To all the posts who said maybe an armed gang of Haitians could/might take over a cruise ship, THANK YOU FOR THE LAUGH! 🙂
  17. Sure, the straw market vendors and other employees in Labadee, are chomping at the bit to "go fight elsewhere"....... Good grief.
  18. Unless you're really interested in staying forward, not much point in changing cabin assignment. No matter what you have to move and the process is the same. Of course no harm in asking to stay where you are but the odds are slim.
  19. I don't know where to start. 1, Do you seriously think US customs is concerned about someone buying a watch for a friend and calling it "re-sale"? Thanks for the laugh. We've been on 40+ Caribbean cruises, taking multiple swiss watches along (Omega, Breitling, etc) each trip and buying new ones also, NOT ONCE has customs ever looked at a single watch. 2. "Many" watches in the Caribbean being knock offs: Maybe in straw markets or whatever, not in reputable jewelry stores. Most stores are authorized dealers for what they sell. OP - do some research on jewelry stores where you're going in the Bahama's. But generally speaking St. Thomas, St. Martin and others are the best for both selection and price.
