  1. We had French onion soup available every night on the Enchanted this spring and earlier this month
  2. If someone has never been to Paris and is unlikely to have another opportunity, it’s worth it. But, otherwise, yeah. It’s also possible to only have enough interest in a city to be satisfied with a three hour tour that lets you see the highlights. Whether it’s worth a three hour trip each way is another question. I’d be very reluctant to try to make my way to Paris on my own at a time when no tour operator is running shore excursions there. It’s a tight time frame on this itinerary I’d keep watching to see if anyone starts offering tours and look for one with a return to ship guarantee.
  3. It makes more sense for teens to have their own login than to share yours when they use the app.
  4. We definitely had one in our balcony cabin last time we sailed from Southampton. We’re on the other side, we asked the steward if he could remove it so it would be out of our way.
  5. You are correct, any four devices can be logged in at one time.
  6. My sons enjoyed formal nights when they were teenagers. We had a great time and made a lot of very happy memories. It also simplified packing since we could rent their tuxedos and have them waiting on board in their cabin. Today, at least for American men, it's unusual to be able to dress formally since rentals are no longer available and very few men own tuxedos.
  7. Yes, but the original poster specifically mentioned that they are looking forward to dressing formally so it does matter to them.
  8. Do you have a region or departure port in mind? That might help limit your options. My guess is the Caribbean would be your best option for nightlife and a shorter itinerary will attract fewer retirees. Another consideration might be looking for something with lots of sea days. As an example, the people on a 12 night in Southeast Asia tended to turn in pretty early as it was a very port intensive trip with almost everyone leaving the ship very early for full day sightseeing tours in very hot weather.
  9. Not seeing Ephesus would be a terrible shame. It is spectacular, especially the terrace houses! I can recommend this very affordable 4 hour tour https://www.ephesusshuttle.com/tours/mini-group-tour-1-option-with-terrace-houses?tur_id=22
  10. There are two formal nights on 10 day itineraries. If you look at the deck plan you’ll see that the public spaces are concentrated on decks 5, 6, and 7. The main pool and buffet are a bit further from deck 9, on deck 16. The fitness center and Retreat pool for adults only are on 17.
  11. I think that age demographics are more related to itinerary than a particular ship. Shorter Caribbean cruises for example attract younger people more than 14 day itineraries since since retirees have more freedom to take longer trips. Are you looking for a cruise that appeals to children and teens or are you all adults?
  12. Formal nights are never on the first or last night and are most often on sea days. You can see which nights are scheduled as formal nights in the ship’s schedule under “Journey” in the app. Every evening will show either “casual” or “formal” portraits. I’ve seen it populate as much as a couple of months before a cruise.
  13. I see, I thought you were saying that the app wasn’t able to accommodate reservations for two tables for 6 not that the MDR’s were fully booked. You can definitely just walk up the first night and then ask if a reservation is possible for the remaining nights.
  14. Yes, I think you are correct. They may be being contacted about Princess Promotions, not Princess Prizes.
  15. I wouldn’t pay the $20 per day to participate without a package, but we did win a free cruise when we had the Premier Package. Here are the details on how it works. Basically you have a chance to win a prize every time you open you cabin door while the casino is open, https://www.princess.com/en-us/cruise-deals-promotions/plus-premier-cruise-packages/princess-prizes-terms-and-conditions
  16. I thought you said you wanted two tables for 6? They may not have tables for 12. You should be able to make one reservation and have someone else in your party make the second reservation. Once onboard you can request tables next to each other.
  17. We were onboard with you. Ocean Now wasn’t working well at all. I ordered coffee twice while on deck. Both times it was marked as delivered about 35 minutes after I ordered although I didn’t receive it either time. On Tuesday while we were in Belize, I received a grilled cheese sandwich in about 35 minutes while on deck. Friday it took about 45 minutes to arrive and was stone cold and so hard that it wasn’t possible to eat it.
  18. We had a similar experience on the Summit in late 2021. It really was fantastic.
  19. Thanks for sharing! I’ve always had a great response using crew chat too.
  20. The crew seems happy with the system of compensation. It seems though that some passengers are not.
  21. If you want to let Princess leadership know you are dissatisfied, contact them and let them know. There are a number of actions you can take. There is the post cruise survey, writing letters, choosing to sail with a line that doesn’t have the same pricing structure, messages on social media. Basically sending a message to those who set policies and pricing. Removing crew appreciation charges onboard is not an effective way of saying don’t like the system. It might mean you don’t think you received good service, think the crew already makes plenty of money, or many other things.
  22. Well said. Punishing the crew because you don’t like the business model of the cruise line is not a productive or appropriate way to express displeasure.
  23. Would you be more comfortable if crew appreciation were to be included in an increased cruise fare and beverage prices increased to include the 18% gratuity? Although the outcome is the same, many people from countries unused to this system might prefer it. It would certainly be simpler. There is no logical argument for saying those who provide services to children shouldn’t be compensated as they would be if they provided that same service to an adult.
  24. There is more trash, more towels, more supplies, no doubt more “stuff” to work around in the cabin. There are also six people eating at every meal. If you chose not to pay crew appreciation though, no one can stop you. Arguing that providing services to children is different than to adults just doesn’t make sense though.
