This is true. You also need a passport for Caribbean itineraries that visit Guadalupe or Martinique. The booking confirmation also spells out that if only one adult is traveling with one or more minors, everyone in the party must have a passport.

Yes, it was possible to see a few from the ship. There was one in the harbor in Nuuk and some in the water very near the open air museum in Nanortalik as well as some easy to see from the ship there. It was a fun experience to wave goodbye to Greenland sitting in a hot tub and looking at icebergs. I'd never seen any before so it made a huge impression.

Canada will be fine, but depending on what you want to do, Greenland can be cold, especially on a moving boat. We did the Wildlife Safari by Boat in Nuuk and it was very cold and windy if you wanted to be outside in the bow of the boat. It was a spectacular, more for the scenery than the wildlife. We saw many icebergs, but even with fleeces on under Northface 3 in 1 Triclimate jackets, we had to go in by the time the boat headed back to the port.. We did an iceberg safari by Zodiak in Qaqortoq. It would also have been very, very, cold except that we were issued survival suits for that tour. They helped a lot, especially as it was raining that day. It was still absolutely stunning. It's true, the assumption is always that passports are left on the ship. In the rare instances where a passport is required, the cruise line and/or the tour operator make it very, very, clear that you must carry it. Usually with multiple reminders reading something like this statement on the tour description, the tour order form, the confirmation email, and also printed at the bottom of a tour ticket for the Alcazar in Seville. PLEASE NOTE: In order to participate, EACH GUEST must submit the required passport information at the time of booking, and MUST have a valid passport in their possession on the day of the tour. Guests who do not submit this information and/or do not have a valid passport on the day of the tour will not be allowed to attend the excursion.

To each his own regarding what risks are likely. In my opinion, the risk of being detained by authorities is much lower than the risk of pickpockets. I never carry my passport off the ship unless it's required. My passport is the one thing I wouldn't want to lose or have stolen as it would make getting home a challenge and end my trip. I keep it in the safe in my cabin and carry my passport card as identification unless a passport is truly needed. The other risk some worry about is tour delays, but if you do somehow miss returning to the ship on time, the standard procedure onboard is to check your safe and leave your passport with the port agent before sailing.

The vast majority would say C752 is a great cabin! I personally wouldn't pick C752 but I might be the outlier. I'd rather have the larger balcony closer to mid-ship on either the port or starboard side than an aft cabin. We did the Singapore to Hong Kong itinerary as a B2B starting and ending in Singapore earlier this year. The passenger mix was pretty typical of all Celebrity sailings, mostly Americans, British, and Australians. It was a fantastic cruise and I’d definitely recommend it. For us, it was well worth the long wait. We’d originally booked just a 14 night for 2021 but it was cancelled so we shifted to 2022. We added the second leg when we shifted again to 2023 after the 2022 trip was cancelled. Of course, 2023 was also cancelled. We’d really started to feel like it would never happen.

You will have to leave the ship on the turnaround day and go through immigration.. I’m not sure if they will use facial recognition in Port Canaveral, which makes the process much faster. I know that they can only use facial recognition in San Pedro for closed loop cruises. For a transpacific or Panama Canal Cruise, they don’t use it. I’m not certain if that’s true in Port Canaveral.

I like the Sapphire more than the newer Princess ships, especially for Alaska since Royal class ships are too large for the inside passage. I’m not sure what NCL does.

It’s definitely on the list. I’ve done a shorter cruise out of Tahiti but I’d love a longer itinerary! I excel at relaxing on sea days 😂

I wouldn’t worry too much about how it shows in the app, but I have had a B2B in the past that somehow wasn’t noticed by Princess. I only found out by chance when they phoned about an upgrade bid being accepted the afternoon before we boarded. I asked if the same cabin would be available for both legs and the agent saw that it wasn’t noted that we had a B2B. You can ask your TA confirm now that your reservations show as B2B in the system or wait and confirm onboard just to be certain. Odds are that it is all fine though.

As I recall, that credit can only be used onboard, not before sailing.

One way to avoid worries about internet or cell service is to save documents on your phone. It’s easy to create an album of “travel documents”in photos.
