  1. The question was what Princess means by saying you can “change your mind”
  2. I think that means reservations can be made or canceled for individual evenings. I can’t imagine how they would manage traditional dining for people who don’t want to eat at the same time and table every night
  3. And to add to the frustration, I will actually be on a cruise and blocked from managing future cruises when re-booking cancelled reservations becomes possible. UGH!
  4. I think the negative to 7:00 reservations has been that the people who arrive at 5 or 5:30 may not eat quickly enough to have tables ready again at 7 so people end up waiting a bit. We’ve had much better luck with 7:20
  5. Cancelling all existing reservations is incredibly frustrating.
  6. You’re right, I don’t see any great risk from downloading the Stockperks app for the 5 minutes it takes to upload a screenshot of a statement.
  7. They get the exact same information from me whether I submit using the app or by email. I don’t see big difference.
  8. I assumed it was a given that not everyone would comply with the requested attire since many men don’t even own a tuxedo or dark suit. My apologies.
  9. The poster asked if there will be forms nights and that answer is a simple yes. As for how many will comply with the requested dress code, it’s impossible to predict. In my experience, there are more people in formal wear on cruises in Europe and Asia than in Australia or North America.
  10. I don’t remember seeing anyone try to enter the MDR in shorts before the restart, it certainly may have happened though. Now it happens on almost every sailing. I see people in shorts turned away occasionally, but more often, they are allowed to enter. No one can predict whether the no shorts or ball caps policy will be enforced on any ship on any given night. It depends on the dining room manager.

  12. The dress code does not change for the last night. No one can tell you whether the dining room manager on your ship will enforce the “no shorts” policy on that or any other evening. If eating in the MDR is important to you, it would be wise to make sure you have pants to wear.
  13. They are all open the same hours and the only difference is location. You can make reservations and request a shared table but there is no traditional dining. You will be seated with different people every night unless you meet people onboard and make reservations together
  14. I’m glad you got it sorted out! Have a wonderful cruise
  15. Crew appreciation is only included in the cruise fare for cruises in Australia and New Zealand and even then, only if the cruise is booked there. If a cruise in Australia is booked in the US, crew appreciation is not included.
  16. No one said people with custom medallions would be denied. I simply stated that having the correct color can avoid the need for a scan on entry to certain locations.
  17. It only matters if someone is checking medallions for entry to a lounge or something. Having the correct color can make the process smoother.
  18. Have you tried changing to a time that suits you?
  19. Have you checked to make sure his Captains Circle number is correct on the booking? If it is, it’s just a glitch and there’s no need to worry. He can ask them to put a sticker on it onboard but the color won’t make a difference in any situation.
  20. The new locks are much larger. At this time Princess has two ships small enough to use the original locks. Besides the fact that they are fascinating from an historical perspective, I’d also consider that it may not always be true that mass market cruise lines will have ships that are small enough for the original locks. I’d try to see them while you can.
  21. As long as it can be can cancelled, I wouldn’t worry about booking a third party excursion. The only thing we had booked was clamshells on the beach in Roatan which is really straightforward. I wonder if they may still be waiting for confirmations from other vendors on the more typical ship excursions
  22. Have you checked your travel summary in the cruise personalizer on the website? Mine shows the excursions moved to the new date.
  23. I have to say I was surprised at how much light comes into inside cabins through the door. I’d always pictured them as cavelike. Not that it bothered me, I just expected it to be pitch black.
  24. I couldn’t agree more. $60 is a huge bargain, especially for those who want internet access. I’m ahead after 2 glasses of wine even with half price wifi.
  25. Perhaps it is partly about who can afford the packages? I guessing that at well over $100 a day it could limit how many packages are purchased. At an extra $19 a day for unlimited drinks, I suppose I can see attracting a lot of big drinkers, bachelor/bachelorette parties and spring breakers. I do think the limit is about the very low price and avoiding sharing of packages though, not controlling behavior.
