Observations of recent Enchanted Princess cruise

It was incredibly windy by the pool. So windy that chairs that weren’t in use were being put away by deck attendants one day -

That’s a great question. I bet if you Google long enough you’ll find that someone has an answer! 😉 -
You are not alone. There is no doubt that the majority of passengers would like to see an end to the use of the casino as a smoking area.

Observations of recent Enchanted Princess cruise

That’s interesting. I’m usually cold but it felt pretty good in Santorini. I think you mentioned you eat early? I wonder if they cool the MDR way down before they open for dinner. We went around 7:30 most nights -

They have no choice really considering that more than half of American men don’t even own a suit much less a tuxedo. Unless they go back to offering tuxedo rental onboard, a large percentage of their male passengers are unable to comply with the formal night dress code of tuxedo or dark suit. -
Observations of recent Enchanted Princess cruise

I was also on the Enchanted at that time and thought it was one of our best cruises with Princess. The staff was terrific. Beyond the smoke problem in the casino, it was exceptional. The Retreat Pool was crazy windy! I couldn’t spend enough time there to notice the music. One miscellaneous thing I noticed was that there were a fair number of people dancing in the piazza in the early evening before dinner. More than I usually see. The jazz band in Take Five also seemed really popular. -
Brother in law refuses to use medallion app
Torfamm replied to debster11's topic in Princess Cruises
He will be able to do everything, it will just all take more time. Check-in will require that he wait in a longer line and he won’t be able to carry out many activities onboard without waiting in lines or on the phone. Those who use the app can make, cancel or change dinner reservations, purchase photos, book shore excursions, ask questions of guest services etc using their phone wherever and whenever they like while on the ship. He will simply have to go do those things in person or go use the phone in his cabin. If that’s his preference, it will work -

Oops - *drives away more money

Deep fried basil is what the garnish looked like to me. I didn’t taste it though

I honestly don’t get it. The casino smells like a circa1980 bowling alley and the piazza isn’t much better. . They have to know that drones away more money than it attracts since they are making the area smaller.
-
I’ve heard from several casino staff that the bar is being removed from the casino to create more space. They are also supposed to make the smoking area smaller.

Here is a photo from tonight. My very limited sample of tasters included reports of “good”, “delicious”, and “not as good as yours”. No one disliked it though and the portion was very reasonable. I thought it was fine. I’m not a huge fan of lasagna though

Enchanted. I think I’ve posted the the 10 day rotation now

Not sure what you’ve been ordering but I’d say $12 per glass is the bare minimum for wine on Princess. There are many people who wouldn’t find anything enjoyable to them at the $15 included in the Plus package.

Ports of call on a Mediterranean cruise

You might want to check the Ports of Call boards for the ports you are visiting -

I’m surprised that no one had mentioned cost. I recently posted in another thread about my memories of my first cruise in 1982. A seven day Caribbean Cruise on Carnival in very small cabin with a tiny porthole and not a single electrical outlet was over $1,200 per person, nearly $4,000 in today’s dollars. A similar cruise in a much more comfortable ocean view cabin today is still easily available for that same $1,250 per person.

Unfortunately they don’t seem to be available in the dining room though. I had also hoped that at least the deserts would be available with meals.

I chose my first Princess cruise for its unique itinerary. The things I found that I think are positives in addition to that were the International cafe with its selection of savory food rather than just pastries, self-service laundry which makes a huge difference on long trips, incredible closet space and remarkably friendly staff.
