  1. Thank you Annie. It was from WW2 and washed up with the tide.
  2. I'm so sorry to hear your story MJ. Pauline's late parents had 4 children Pauline being the 3rd. Their first child died aged 2 months and it affected them badly. We go to the cemetery every Month to tend to Pauline's baby brothers grave then her grandparents grave. From your posts on here I think you are an incredibly nice person. Graham.
  3. Good afternoon. We had a lovely church service this morning but when we got to the beach afterwards it was foggy so we ate our Starbucks snacks and drinks then went home. Yesterday our route to the beach was cordoned off by Police and coastguard so I made a detour. We heard a loud bang and just heard it was an unexploded bomb found on the quiet beach near Noses Point about 1 mile from our usual spot which was detonated by the British Army bomb squad. Our city Sunderland used to be the largest shipbuilding town in the world in the 1940s.
  4. It would have been a German bomb from WW2. Sunderland nearby used to be the largest shipbuilding town in the world and a major target.
  5. Good afternoon. Yesterday afternoon we had to make a detour to our local beach because the main route was cordoned off by the Police and coastguard. We heard a loud bang and I just found out it was an unexploded bomb found on a quiet part of the beach about 1 mile from where we usually sit. It was detonated underwater by the bombsquad.
  6. Yesterday afternoon the road near one of our local beaches was cordoned off by Police and coastguard so we took a detour to get to our usual place about a mile north. We heard a loud bang and I have just heard on the local news it was an unexploded bomb which was detonated underwater by our army bombsquad.

  11. Good afternoon. Happy Mother's day to those who celebrate it today. We had a lovely church service this morning. It is very foggy at the beach and 57°F but bright sunshine and 66°F at home 5 miles away. Today's food sounds nice.
