  1. Thanks for the responses. I was able to re-price it for £35 this afternoon so that is a great result. My guess is that the price may fall further so will keep an eye on things but I'm now much happier with the price of the cruise (don't usually book so early and thought it was overpriced when I booked but travelling with family who were desperate lock in the itinerary).
  2. How did this work? They gave you the new lower price and charged you an admin fee? And did you not have to forfit your deposit?
  3. Hi all, I’m looking for a bit of advice on how to proceed with a price-drop. Rate on our cruise has dropped by around 20% and we are still around 1.5 months away from final payment deadline. As we are UK based we cannot get the cruise re-priced (they don’t do that here) so only option is to cancel and rebook (not particularly interested in upgrading). All straightforward and prepared to lose £200 deposit to save £1000+. Main complication is we have already paid more than the deposit in order to take advantage of Amex cashback offers so NCL have around 50% of the fare in their pockets. Question – If we cancel how is this “overpayment” handled? Do they refund it to the original form of payment while keeping the deposit? Or can they generally cancel and rebook in the same call and transfer any overpayment to the new booking? I’d rather not refund to the card, as payment was split over 2 Amex cards, one of which I don’t have any more. Also Amex tend to claw back the cashback if a transaction is refunded. I know the easiest pay to answer this is to call NCL but I don’t want to end up doing something I’d regret by for example taking FCC than finding out it takes weeks to issue then can’t be used on the same cruise! Best to know what to ask for upfront 😊 Thanks.
  4. This is technically correct but I have had the shareholder OBC approved for cruises with Princess booked at special rates (airline employee). Not tried with P&O as I've only booked public rates with them as they tend not to give us the same aggressive discounts as Princess.
  5. The price for the skylift is NOK575 booked direct (summer pricing). For the shuttle from Olden + Skylift it is NOK850 via the olden cruise dot com website. In GBP that is £46 v £67, so £21 for the bus which is expensive but standard in Norway if cruise passengers are involved. This is still better than the P&O price. We are travelling in June and I think I'll just leave it until the day and take my chances in case there is low cloud and nothing to see. A lot of money for nothing if the weather doesn't cooperate! The £35 price for the skylift mentioned by the OP is the winter pricing which expires 30th April (in case anyone is travelling after that time).
  6. Following with interest as we join the Regal on 25/06. It sounds like they have already started filming on the Regal for "The Real Love Boat" so I'll be particularly interested to hear about any potential disruption and venue closures!
  7. I booked an excursion last week for an upcoming sailing and it gave me the option to use my shareholder OBC to pay for my seat but had to use credit card for my wife (presumably as OBC is non-transferrable). Go right through the process to the point of entering your credit card and see if it takes your OBC off as it did for me. I must admit I was not expecting to have the option!
  8. There is a very active Regal Princess group on Facebook that has lots of reports and photos. People seem to be having a great time in general but of course the usual minor complaints raise their head, e.g. someone daring to go to the MDR without a tux 😮
  9. Just checked and the Regal is berthed at Terminal B today. Enjoy!
  10. I can't answer the question from any experience but I'm sailing on the Regal at the end of June and was tracking it on Vessel Finder a few weeks ago when it was last in Piraeus and noticed it was berthed by Terminal C. I don't know if they were checking in at Terminal B and bussing to the ship or checking in at Terminal C. My understanding is that Princess usually use Terminal B. Either way, if arriving by taxi the driver will figure it out eventually! Or check cruisemapper or vessel finder before you leave in the morning to see where the ship has berthed.
  11. The only time I ever removed the gratuity was on a Golden Princess Australia cruise in 2019. It really got my back up that we had gratuities added to our account because we are from the UK, whereas the other 90% of people onboard, being Australian, didn't pay. And before anyone says I paid less for my cruise, I compared prices on the booking day between UK and AU site and AU site was actually a tad cheaper grrr!
