  1. Can you easily walk into downtown Chioggia from where the ship docks or do you have to take a shuttle?
  2. The Almond Croissants are the BEST! I wrote that in on the breakfast room service card almost every morning of our Viking cruise to Iceland last year. So good. Just got off the Wonder of the Seas and their Almond Croissants weren't half as good as Viking's. Now I want one and won't be on a Viking ship until May. 😞
  3. Bringing this back up in the queue, hoping someone might have done this tour recently. If so, how were the two hotels (Albergo Terminus in Lake Como and Hotel Accademia in Verona)? And were the meals at the hotels?
  4. Not sure what your itinerary is so it may not be the same. We saw the Aqua show the first night of the cruise (8pm?) and the Ice show the third night (7pm?). The second night (at sea) was formal and the fifth night (at sea enroute to Coco Cay) was Dress to Impress/Lobster. Also they had a 70's night party (but no white night) in case you want to pack some cool 70's duds 😎
  5. Just got off the Wonder. DEFINITELY see the Aqua show and the Ice show - they are both excellent! For the Aqua show, be prepared to be dripped on if you're seated in the lower middle and the splash zones are wet! Tap Factory was good (like a combination of Blue Man group and Tap Dancing), but if contortionists give you the creeps, you may want to skip Tap Factory. Effectors 2 was fun and the special effects are terrific.
  6. Just got off the Wonder and, while our servers did inquire as to whether we liked our food, it wasn't too often. BUT, the survey thing was annoying! During the Waiter parade, I'm guessing the Head Waiter, who was down on the 3rd Floor and we couldn't see or hear very well, did encourage 10s on the survey. And our server spent several minutes on it the second-to-last night and almost 5 minutes the last night. It was so annoying the last night as she interrupted our conversation and just kept on and on - I tried to swing our conversation to something else, but she was a bulldog! And I honestly scored the dining room a 7 on the survey. The service was a 7, not a 10. 🤷‍♀️
  7. Bringing this back up in the queue because I, too, want to know if I have to haul around the freestyle cup or if I can just get a soda at the bar. And specialty coffees in the Windjammer and Cafe Promenade only? What about MDR?
  8. We're a party of 8 in 4 cabins. When we get onboard, can just 1 person book all 8 of us in the App for the shows or does each cabin have to book individually? And if 1 can book all, what info would they need? Full names and all 4 cabin numbers or booking numbers or ? Thanks!
  9. Not that we ever noticed. While under way, the infinity pool is drawn down several inches, and there is a catch basin below/around it so if the weather is bad it won't overflow (and if the weather is bad, chances are we won't be out on the balcony anyway). Our cabin attendant would bring in the cushions and stash them in the corner of the living area if the weather was bad and then put them back out as soon as it got nice again. This worked out great, because we never had to deal with soggy cushions!
  10. I've only ever been in an ES on the 5th deck, stern. Absolutely loved it. The balcony was quite large, but I couldn't really tell if it was larger or smaller than the cabins above or below us. We had a couple of chairs and a small table, a lounge on the side and, our favorite, a double chaise lounge facing aft. We liked that suite so much, we booked the same suite for our next cruise!
  11. Jim, I'm booked on a Midnight Sun cruise with Greenwich as our disembark port. The itinerary I got from Viking shows us tendering at Greenwich. How the heck does Viking handle turning the ship (all the luggage, people, supplies, etc) via tender?
  12. We have booked the Pre-Cruise: Ultimate Italy - Lake Como and Verona extension for the Venice to Athens, Empires of the Med cruise. Viking will pick us up in Milan Airport and take us to our hotel in Lake Como. I've never done a pre-cruise with Viking and was wondering: A) Are these pre-cruise excursions very popular/crowded (specifically the Pre: Ultimate Italy - Lake Como and Verona) ? Are we talking 10 people or 40? B) Do you have to sit around and wait in the airport for all of the people who are taking the excursion to arrive? I really don't want to sit in the Milan airport for hours, waiting for 30 people to trickle in before we can head to Lake Como! C) Is wine or cocktails included in the meals that Viking arranges or would we have to pay for a glass of wine with the Included Dinners? D) Are the Included Dinner times based on when Italians usually eat, meaning we won't be going to eat until after 8pm earliest?
