Just got a text from PECO our power company asking for all homeowners to conserve energy, if health permits, until 10 am tomorrow. Sounds like power grid is under stress due to frigid temps. I have timers set for all our outdoor lights/displays to go off just after midnight. Have to make sure Santa finds us. Hopefully no power losses.

I have a lot of baking and wrapping in our home today. Having to go to an office to work Monday thru Friday really put me behind this year. Working from home the last couple of years definitely had it perks. I was then able to bake and wrap during weekdays. Gift bags are coming in handy this year!

The Jewel itinerary on May 30th is really nice then add on celebrity equinox to make it a nice 21 nights of sailing with a couple of extra days sounds perfect!

Serenade the sister of Jewel is one of our favorite ships. They are identical deck plans. We enjoy hump balconies as well as the standard OVB (balconies are extended - not fully covered - see deck plan for cabins 7154/7664 thru 7176/7664). Hump OVB cabins 8586 and 9592 are nice. JS Aft 9256 is really nice and usually sells out quick

Yes, we were port side our last cruise earlier this month and did not have any issue with Jamies lights and zero noise. You will be just fine.

You'll be just fine on deck 7. If you look at deck 5 starboard deck plan the smoking station that is enclosed like a bus stop is located across from vintages. Cabins in the the area of 6674 6676 6678 get the smokey smell. If you are anywhere near the area of 7646 you'll be fine.

I definitely agree. Deck 6 is usually our favorite too. I personally prefer the cabins near the aft elevator, bump out. I like using the stairs to get to deck 5 for cafe 270, 270 theater, vintages bar and the esplanade/promenade. We did enjoy deck 7 too but our go to is deck 6. Like I said Jim if you can get one of the square cabins on deck 7 for a price much less than JS and don't have to have CK I would go for it.

The square cabins on deck 7 we either standard OVB or OVB with large balcony. For our last sailing they were much cheaper than a JS. No CK access. There are some nice JS on Anthem that have 1.5 bathrooms but no walkin closet. I forget if they are j4 or j3.

On Anthem we almost always book a cabin near the aft elevators. We have stayed in some very nice unobstructed or barely obstructed balconies on Deck 6. We have stayed in both 6246 and 6644 and enjoyed the slightly larger balconies. If looking to get a JS on deck 6 - they would be next to 6644 and also have no obstructions and no noise from the elevators as there Our favorite is the square cabins on deck 7 - balcony is the size of a JS and I love having the extra window. You would have a chair instead of a sofa but that is just fine with us as we hardly ever use the sofa anyway. For me to have the extra space in the cabin and the larger balcony is much better than having a sofa we barely use. Deck 6 also has these square OVB cabins but they are slightly obstructed by top of the small lifeboats. They do not block your view looking out at sea but you cannot look straight down into the water in 6254/6654 and 6258/6658.

Sorry to hear you have covid. I took Claritin D for my congestion when I had covid in October. Doctor's don't really prescribe much of anything Seemed to help. Get lots of rest and drink lots of water😃 and hopefully you will feel better soon. I hope your Mom is doing well at the rehab facility. Sad that you won't be able to be with her for the holiday weekend.

My new favorite bar on Anthem is Vintages. The bartender trio, Indy, Joey and Aladdin are very entertaining and they make awesome cocktails.

I feel bad for people on Anthem this week. They are probably going to have some nasty weather at sea to get back up the coast to NJ.

I am mentally drained today. I went to local auto dealer to purchase three (3) 2022 Dodge Ram ProMasters for work. Why do car dealers drag out the whole game of negotiating, preparing paperwork, etc. etc. I was getting cranky towards the end of the visit. I phoned my boss after I left the dealership and he was very happy with the final amount we paid for the vehicles. He felt sorry for me having to sit there all afternoon and said tomorrow he is buying me lunch. I asked him to throw in a cocktail😁
