  1. Do not worry about not leaving any of Dee Dee’s ashes at the Olive farm because she was there with you! Those we love are forever a part of us, always near us and only a heartbeat away. Sit on your balcony, close your eyes and know she is close. Feel her love in the warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze touching your face. The best way we can honour our precious loved ones that have passed is to live life every day to the fullest. And you are doing that for Dee Dee on this cruise. She is with you and so very proud of you. Thank you for sharing ALL of this journey with us.
  2. Was the sparkling wine a JS perk or Diamond benefit? Or part of a drink package?
  3. Looking forward to your review! Question - what snacks were provided in the Diamond Lounge on embarkation? Enough for lunch or just a few munchies?
  4. That’s why I said “similar” suites. For non quantum or oasis ships, it would be more like JS with benefits. The price point would have to be much less as the “benefits” are minimal. Still all conjecture and speculation at this point but certainly appreciate all the responses.
  5. Not going to happen? Time will tell but Royal has seen how incredibly popular the Sky JS are on Icon. Easy revenue with minimal expenditure to introduce a few similar suites on each ship across the fleet.
  6. This popped up yesterday as part of the thread on formal nights: The D Concierge on EN just told us a couple of weeks ago that they've been told that JS will soon have full suite status. If that comes true, to me, it means that JS will start costing even more. All we can do is wait and see. Edited yesterday at 09:04 AM by BND Any others received this info on other ships?
  7. Royal up can assign you any JS. The ones on the aft, especially deck 6 are less than ideal as the super structure of the ship really interferes with your view. You look straight down to a deck, not the ocean. IMHO you have better ocean views from your current balcony. You could also be assigned an accessible JS which has a roll in shower instead of a bath tub. You might want to check out some YouTube videos to see if this is something you would be happy with before you submit a bid. Good luck and have a wonderful cruise. We board Mariner in Sept in JS 1104 - can’t wait!
  8. Just contact special needs department. They will be able to provide a raised toilet seat - makes life so much easier! https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/Celebrity-Guest-Special-Needs-Form.pdf
  9. Thank you! After years of cruising with RCI, we are looking forward to our first Celebrity cruise on Apex next March. Our Diamond status will allow us to enjoy the Elite HH. Are there any bars on Apex that you find “quieter” for HH?
  10. Once your search results appear, you can refine the filters. By clicking on Apex AND martini AND bar, you get 195 results instead of 96K. Good luck! Didn't find what you were looking for? Try searching for: The phrase "Apex martini bar" Apex AND martini AND bar Newest results first Apex martini bar in content titles only
  11. With free drinks only being offered from 5-7, does this not make for extremely chaotic service at the bars? A recent thread stated there were 600+ Elites on their cruise. That’s a lot of HH drinks!
  12. Thank you! Is JR all you can eat or one sandwich and choice of sides? Thinking it would be a less crowded alternative to WJ on embarkation day.
  13. I injured my knee just before my Odyssey cruise last December. I had no problem bringing a heating pad onboard. Simply email special_needs@rccl.com. Here is the response I received. Regarding your request to bring a heating pad, if its due to a medical condition you can bring it on board, take into consideration that the heating pad must be inspected and marked with UL, CSA, CE which is one of standard-certification organizations, this will prove that electrical equipment is tested and safe to use, also, the heating pad must have an automatic turn off system (timer).Take into consideration that the device is subject to being checked and cleared by our ship security staff prior to boarding and you will have to bring it with your carry-on luggage in its original packaging. I purchased a new heating pad and put it in my carry on luggage. I did take it out of the bulky box but did include the enclosed product information sheet and I highlighted the safety info and timer function. I also printed a copy of the email from special needs and attached the sales receipt. I did not require a doctors note. Check in was a breeze. Security just waved me through and did not ask to see any documentation. Have a wonderful cruise!
  14. Anyone currently on Mariner. - did they remove the SkyPad structure while in Dry dock? I see from the app that the area is now being used for Jenga, bean bag toss and stretching classes. Was there any explanation/Updates as to why dry dock was extended cancelling the April 1 sailing? Have you noticed any areas that have been freshened up? And totally unrelated - what is the current price for Johnny Rockets onboard. Just planning food alternatives for the MDR. Thanks so much!
  15. If you can travel on Apex March 30 2024 instead of May, there is a SV available for less than a DPV. Great chance to try out a sunset verandah for a good price.
  16. Chops quality is not like it used to be. I would definitely not eat there again. 150 Central Park is a better option.
  17. Unfortunately I have a shellfish allergy but am hopeful that won’t diminish my Eden experience. I did look at the menu - I won’t go hungry and their presentation looks amazing!
  18. Thank you for all the info. I reserved dinner at Eden and will make the other reservations on boarding. Just 367 days to go - lots of time to watch more YouTube videos and dream about Celebrity’s delicious food! One more quick newbie question - does Celebrity ever have cruise planner sales on dining packages? More than the current 7% off ($210 CAD)?
  19. Thanks for the info! Is it usually possible to get onboard reservations for 2 for the other restaurants or do they fill up fast as well. I don’t want to miss Le petit Chef either!
  20. After finally achieving Diamond status on Royal, it’s time to cruise with the adults and enjoy hot food! We have booked Apex for March 2024. I have purchased a 3 night dining package so we can sample the specialty dining and still try each of the 4 MDRs. Fine cuts, Le Petit Chef and Eden will be our restaurants of choice. Question. I do not want to miss out on Eden or get a really late reservation. As package reservations cannot be made online, should I simply purchase a reservation for Eden online then cancel it onboard? Should I do this for all 3 restaurants? I don’t really want that much OBC! What is the ideal time for a reservation for Eden so we can dine before any shows start? Thanks so much!
  21. We visited Labadee for the first time this past December. As 2 women travelling together, we were somewhat nervous but didn’t want to miss the opportunity to experience a port we had never been to. It turned out to be the best stop on a great cruise! Beautiful scenery, lovely beaches , friendly people. Just avoid the Artisans Village - the vendors can be very aggressive. Make sure you try the coaster! A huge shout out to JJ (a manager there) who gave us a free private tour and a comprehensive history of Dragons breath and the surrounding area.
  22. Not sure about Anthem but we had the Key on Odyssey Dec 2022. It included North Star, IFly, bumper cars and the usual flow rider and rock climbing. You can book your sessions at the welcome Chops lunch. There was a table set up as you went in to the MDR- best to book before you eat as there was a long line up after. Don’t miss the bumper cars - not many Key holders take advantage of this activity so you just stay in your car as long as you want. It was so much fun - makes you feel like a kid again lol .
  23. Just an FYI. We won a RoyalUp to an accessible JS 9246 Dec 2022. (Royal releases unsold accessible cabins within 30 days of sailing.) There is a separate wheel in shower with fold down seat as well as a bathtub with safety rails. It is important to note however that while these cabins afford ample room and a generous balcony, there is extremely limited storage space. We are Diamond and have never been in a room with so little storage. The bathroom has zero. Yep. Not even a shelf for a cup. I was aware of this ahead of time so packed an over the door organizer - it was a life saver as I hate clutter! As far as cabin storage, there are 2 narrow closets, one on each side of the bed and three small drawers under the lamp table. And that is it. Check out the online videos before you book.
  24. I checked the daily calendar on the app for this cruise last week. Gave me a good idea of when to make speciality dining reservations. Here’s a partial schedule for the main shows. Apparently only the Book needs reservations and you can do that now on the app. Hope this helps - of course anything can change! Day 1 Rookie 9 pm Day 2 showgirls 8 pm. The Book 9 pm Day 3. Rookie 9 pm. Two70 Experience 9 pm Day 4 Mo5aic 8 or 10 pm The Book 9 Day 5. The Book 9. Rookie 10:15 pm Day 6. Headliner Michael Holly 10 pm Day 7. Effectors 8 pm Day 8. Effectors 8 pm I just checked the current 6 day calendar and don’t see Rookie or Mo5aic so guess we just have to wait til we board! Cruising is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get! It’s all part of the amazing adventure. Four more sleeps! Can’t wait!
  25. Thank you for the review. We sail Dec 3 on the same 8 day itinerary - so excited! Couple quick questions. How was the service in the MDR and did you notice long line ups for MTD? Are the pool attendants monitoring “reserved” deck chairs sitting unused for hours? With 3 sea days, it would be lovely to spend a couple hours around the pool. What were your top 3 sea day activities? Thanks so much!
