  1. I really enjoy reading thru these threads... Driving gf crazy as our YC cruise is still 10 months away and I can't stop talking about it... happy to hear people enjoy dressing up for formal nights as plan to bring the tux

Tell your gf to count herself as lucky, I’m driving my wife mad about Bellissima YC only 490 days to go. Anndddd she is driving me mad about wanting an MSC world cruise in 2023 [emoji33]

  2. Hello all. On the Divina end of September the list changed and included far more premium spirits. One I remember was Absolute Elyx vodka as our friends were drinking it.

I’m pretty sure there were single malts available for free. Not Glenlivet I would have remembered that as a guardian [emoji3].

If you see anything in other bars you like just let them know and ask nicely.

The alcoholic cocktail drinks, Italian wine and coffee were 100% better than NCL. I lost some of my photos so don’t have the menu. 510581bd9f37b31de41410c0c1bde683.jpg

The prosecco at the black card party was the best I’ve ever had - never got to find out the make as they said it was a secret. We were having a joke at the time [emoji3]

You will have an amazing time I’m sure.

  3. I also know what you all mean!

Was just hoping RC would adjust but they didn’t need to as yes I’m the British idiot that has just paid the 9% inflated price. I called to ask if I could pay in dollars as my bank would only charge me 3% but was told NO.

However I’m also the idiot that has booked a cruise from Marseille on April 6 2019 which is only 6 days after Brexit. Wish me luck with that one!

  4. Glad you had a nice time. Can’t wait for the review as we trust you Tim, it may sway us to magnifica instead of meraviglia for a cheeky week after Christmas in the cyber sale next week.

  5. Sounds just like the approach that the chefs onboard take, too! :D :D :D

    Haha Bea how could you?

But I’m having a chuckle about the ‘marrowbone’ and ‘flourless cake’ Jane called flavourless cake haha

  6. 2 things that stood out for us that summed it up.

Before each port day I was reminded to take sun screen, hat, towels & ice cold water (placed on our table next to our beach bag whilst we enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant)

We had 3 chocolate ships in our refrigerator (for our foster children at home) and another magically appeared for our daughter (16)

    Amazing experience

  7. You can’t beat the MSC kids rates we’ve cancelled our RCI cruise as they were the same price as adults!

They will love the kids club and pool area I’m sure. Will post lots of photos when we go April 6th.

  8. Great review CM.

I think those who write the negative reviews should have to prove they were there with a picture of their cruise card.

Totally get the Cunard & P&O comment.

Had a chat on Divina to a guy who was moaning and growning. Didn’t say please or thank you to the server, positioned himself to ensure he and his wife had 4 spaces for the 2 of them, shook their heads at every person who didn’t have a tuxedo on or looked ‘non British’ and were talking or laughing. Asked him how many cruises he had been on..... “7 Cunard and 4 P&O but the dates we had to come over here (USA) they are not here.”

Why would you book a cruise to be miserable?

Guess we know where 2 Brexit votes came from!

  9. Looks like a new bucket list entry has replaced the crossed off Caribbean cruise!

Conversation in our house last night......

    Mark “look at this email”

    Phone taken for 10 minuets

Jane “you know you took me to the Caribbean for my 50th, well it’s fate what was that famous book... around the world in 60 days well this is what I want when I’m 60”

Mark “it’s around the world in 80 days”

Jane “no that’s too long to wait”

  10. We did not like the food or atmosphere at Eataly, but the steak at Galaxy was the best I have ever had, and the chocolate melting cake was wonderful too. Also, Galaxy is very elegant and romantic, highly recommend! We are not fish eaters either.

    I won’t mention the L word [emoji12]

  11. This was the one in the Yacht Club and looked and taster just like last years lobster on Splendida in the MDR I paid extra for. f89418885cff6b3cf0564c2a12d7eec5.jpg

Being British we had afternoon tea so could only manage 1 however 1 guy had 3. Well we left at that point so maybe more.

  12. We used our black card free speciality meal for the Galaxy restaurant.

One of the appetisers was lobster pasta. A whole tail was chopped in with the fresh pasta. This was the best ever dish my wife and I had ever had in our lives. Honestly it was amazing [emoji6]
