Amazing views of this strange mystical land as we approach Akureyri

Our parting gift from Reykjavik [emoji3]

Love Iceland! Glad to hear the seas were kind to you! Enjoying your reports, thanks!
Thank you.
I must say hiring a 7 seater, half a tank of diesel, lunch and entrance to the Laugarvatn Fontana spa was less than £300 for all 6 of us.
The quote of the day when we ventured off the main road was......
"It's like Scottie has teleported us down to a strange planet!"
Never forget yesterday that's for sure.
About to sail away from Reykjavik and the wind has blown over the chairs in the great outdoors.....time to test the patches I think!
Can't wait to see Akureyri tomorrow going on the NCL history and nature excursion.

Geyser and gullfoss waterfall truly spectacular.

Hello from a cool and cloudy Reykjavik!
This is bucket list territory [emoji3]
All clear given to go ashore well ahead of time and the stampede is underway.
Have booked a 7 seater and shuttle to the car rental is 09:30 so just getting some breakfast.
Seas have been very kind to us which was a big fear.
I think we have seen a whale! Via the bow cam on the TV. Was certainly moving like a whale.

Thanks Keith. Jade when full is remarkably well set out. We have not queued for anything. Bar service lightning fast. Only time you see a crowd is the buffet in breakfast. Still seats available outside or in La Cucina so no problem. Martin the restaurant manager leading his team with immense organisation skills.

Scalloway the old capitol and castle.

Good morning from the Shetland islands. Very pretty port and very smooth seas overnight.
Off with Roy from Shetland small group tours. First stop Tesco 🤦*♂️

General service throughout the ship is the best we have come across both at sea and on land. The crew if you engage are so friendly.

I must say at this point Guest Services have provided us last night with the most helpful service during an issue we had. My heart felt thanks to them. When something happens they are there for you. Thank you.

Pressed send due to a jump on the tender [emoji3]
Was going to say my guess would be 30% UK. 30% North American. 30% Asians and 10% all others.

Good morning to you and reading along ... getting the "juniors" tucked into bed early & asleep is great, especially after a long day - free up the adults, except for one "room monitor" staying with them ... just in case. The rest, if they wish & still has plenty of energy to kick around, can explore & do other things onboard.
Sounded that ship's satellite WiFi internet is working fine(do you have the unlimited option, what plans are offered & prices). Is the free iConciege App working & also what is the charge for the optional text & calling fees?
Ship must be sailing full - any head counts given at the M&G about total pax count onboard & # of children sailing, sometimes - the senior officer like to give them out, along with the composition or nationalities of the crew.
Hi mking
We don't have the internet package but those who do have said it works well. We did not want to pay almost £300 as we have a uk contract that is free to use in Norway and Iceland.
Did not give out numbers or nationalities

Last night we ate at Teppanyaki. Food was very good and also the lychee cocktail.
Very smooth seas overnight and arrived slightly early into Alesund. Buffet very busy this morning but la cucina restaurant was opened for extra seating and also outside. Very good customer care.
Watched the scenery into port which is spectacular. It is very difficult to describe the port and Alesund unless you see it for yourself. It doesn't actually look real it is that pretty.
Now on the NCL land of the trolls tour. Fairly painless process to get on the coach.
Wonderful sunshine this morning so lucky to see for miles.

So yesterday was our first sea day crossing the North Sea. It was a little choppy but a lot calmer than was forecast. A little too windy for the pool so relaxed on the loungers. Attended the meet and greet and heard from all the senior staff.
Met as many members as we could before the kids club pick up time of 11:45.
Had a drink with some of them and felt really welcomed to the group it was lovely.
Had lunch at O'Sheehans which was very good apart from the almost cold fries.
Quite quick service considering there was a queue for a table it so full.
Chicken wings and fish were very nice.
Children chose to go to the kids club in the afternoon and really loved it.
They then chose to attend the Hollywood party and the buffet instead of dining with us at Le Bistro.
Well thanks to this site we had the recommendation of pre booking speciality dining thanks Keith. Le Bistro was showing red virtually all night.
The food was fantastic.
Fillet steak, duck and a specials prawn dish.
The wait for the chocolate fondue helped build the excitement and was well worth it. The waiter had just been promoted from the main dining room and you could see why. His customer service was spot on and also got the ladies some ice cream which was above and beyond as the supervisor had said only one desert.
Check for 3 was $138 so one more meal and we've already covered the 13 meals plan......very happy [emoji4]
Attended the Beatles invasion show. They were spectacularly awesome and very authentic almost as good as the bootleg Beatles very enjoyable. Paul McCartney was performing a few unrehearsed dance moves when the ship was rocking. How they played guitar is beyond me! Will definitely attend both their shows later in the week. Well done NCL.

Had pre purchased funicular tickets and from Jade to the top in less than 30 minutes.
Spectacular views from the top of Jade and Bergen.
Good sized play park at the top where the little ones are playing with other children from the kids club.
Off for a walk around top now.
