  1. Have not read through this entire thread, but realize it is referring to Magnifica, wanted to add a few comments as we just got off Magnifica this morning - we had a great cruise - the ship felt extremely comfortable to us, the service was exceptional, the food was fine, the shows offered a variety, entertainment was decent - we have no complaints.
  2. OP was referencing the disparity of reviews on MSC. And it is so true. So often it is the “haters” who are the most vocal. We are currently on Magnifica (have been on 12+ MSC cruises, one being Yacht Club) and having a wonderful time. Prior to sailing read some nasty reviews. Not from us. Everyone has gone above and beyond.
  3. It definitely was not that. For Appetizers I had lettuce wrapped vegetable roles (sorry don’t know official name) and a vegetable tempura and husband had crunchy wrapped spring roles and shrimp/vegetable tempura.
  4. #6 You can put any card in room slot, we currently have a misc card in ours. #7 Men can definitely wear shorts in DR any time.
  5. Well our itinerary is going to Cozumel, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and Nassau. You would need to search the Grandiosa from December 2025 forward for its itineraries.
  6. Grandiosa is coming to Port Canaveral end of 2025. Booked our Interior Yacht Cabin before all are taken. Seems like a long time away altho 2026 seems even longer. We cruised Seashore Yacht Club in April for first time, hence booked Seascape for November this year out of Miami and as I said Grandiosa for December 2025 out of Port Canaveral. Ports - we drive so definitely prefer Port Canaveral if an option.
  7. Specialty restaurant this week seems very quiet. Atmosphere nice. Still prefer Mera and SS ships.
  8. You had asked about comparing sushi on other ships. Interestingly enough we often eat at the Sushi Restaurant at least once on Mera and other MSC ships (and Carnival ships) when onboard. Those times however I can choose the sushi I like and husband enjoys the soups and salads and noodles. To be honest we did not study menu other than what was offered for the Diamond dinner.
  9. You can use it every day. The first day we had an appointment and asked for an orientation. Following days we always made appointments and you check in at desk and walk in and do your thing.
  10. So funny, read your post and came up to deck 14 and there you are!
  11. Personally we don’t find the Lighthouse Show too fascinating. But viewing the Island from your Balcony would be lovely. On the other hand what @The Dad said is also very true.
  12. Are you stopping at Ocean Cay? The reason I ask - 99% of the time it is the starboard side that faces the Cay.
  13. Oriental Plaza Dining - the reason we ate there is because we are diamond level and receive a free specialty restaurant meal. We much prefer Butcher’s Cut on other MSC vessels. It was just okay for us, not sure if we would even do it again should we sail on Magnifica again. The two appetizers were good. Entrees - I chose salmon which was good but only came with a few vegetable sprigs and husband had steak choice which also just came with a few veggies and although the steak was good it was a smaller portion than I would ever serve to anyone. At the same time as you get your entree you also get chef’s choice of sushi which was a very decent amount and a variety but we are not sushi people so whether the sushi was good or bad I cannot say. We have the beverage package but choices were limited so if you are drinking something specific that you prefer it is best to take it in with you. All this to say everyone has their own preferences in food, for us this was a little underwhelming. Husband’s comment as I write this is “it was okay but we wouldn’t do it again.”
  14. Nightly Shows in Royal Theatre are fine, last about 30 minutes, two male singers excellent, somewhat more variety than shows we have seen elsewhere. Of course everyone has their own preferences.
  15. We are experiencing the Oriental Plaza Restaurant this evening. Will eventually report back. Typically we enjoy Butcher’s Cut on MSC ships and this is first ship we have been on not to have one. Husband loves/favors steak so we will see how it goes.
  16. After 12+ MSC cruises we are on Magnifica out of Miami, embarked Friday the 12th for seven nights. We are enjoying ship and cruise and all that goes with that. If anyone has questions I will do my best to answer.
  17. Hmm, wow, good to know, thank you.
  18. On board Magnifica and just talked to a lady who had a 12 pack of Coke cans that she put a “luggage” tag on and it arrived in her cabin along with her suitcase yesterday.
  19. Good to hear about shows, so often we have found them repetitive. MSC’s newer ships are gorgeous but we also sailed on Armonia two times before she went back to Europe during the shutdown and really had fun cruises. We were so looking forward to her coming to Tampa, of course never happened.
  20. Ty, great to hear, we embark tomorrow, have enjoyed all of the ships MSC has had in America, Magnifica will be new to us, realized it isn’t here for very much longer so doing a summer cruise.
  21. I understand now, wasn’t sure what “Usica” was.
  22. Neither does Magnifica, sailing out on her tomorrow from Port of Miami.
  23. Well I just saw that @Até already suggested this.
  24. I have found the options start at Interior / OC / etc. and then if you keep scrolling to right the Yacht Club should eventually show.
