Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. A little late now Jim but for others who may find it useful… Download the OPAL App to your phone, register your OPAL card (don’t need to link a payment card if not necessary). This not only keeps a track of your card usage and remaining credit but provides excellent travel information, both metro and bus, even alerts at your ‘stop’. On a land trip, pre covid’ I found it really useful. Following your posts is bringing back many memories of that trip, fortunately with better weather (except day 1 !!). I’m editing to add that Citymapper is also worth looking at (about 400 cities)…
  2. As is clearly mentioned in the document (above) from @Eddie99 there is no longer a need to pay an age upgrade and there is no reference to an upper age limit. How does a thread about “travel insurance on a UK cruise” get diverted to discussion about “duty free sales” in UK ports !!
  3. What a pretty strange comment….. neither was the poster …..
  4. 1pmobile does. Runs on EE network, 1p per everything (obviously) but requires £10 top up every 4 months.
  5. ‘Course, if everyone (or even the majority) book “fast track” then nothing is gained !
  6. That’s a serious concern I, as a solo also have. Even in hotels I’ve had situations where other guests have requested my table is cleared when I’m getting the next course…
  7. Is there a downside ? What ‘features’ do you lose by disabling GPS (on land) ?
  8. Do scooters have batteries that low Wh ?
  9. Scooter can…. Battery can’t. That’s why lithium batteries must be carried in carry on, tablets etc.
  10. Pretty sure you cannot take as checked luggage.
  11. This is nonsense! You can’t (safely) put a 6 month old baby in a pullman bed, so a cot is essential. What would happen if, on getting onboard, no cots were available ? I’d insist or cancel.
  12. I’d be more concerned if they HAD responded to an email from some random person asking where they stored my parked car !
  13. Just as an aside @molecrochip, how late does the ‘noise’ from the theatre go on until ?
