  1. For those who travel solo I have the fare for a double window stateroom as single staterooms are sold oiut ,at least for the segment I want, San Diego to Papeete 🙂 Miami to San Diego $11,675 San Diego to Papeete $13,825
  2. Well this s….s. as an LA area person who was looking forward to just getting a ride to the port about 45 min away! Guess I would or will take the Train to San Diego on departure day
  3. My sister bought her Lucid last year pretty much in the manner you described as I recall
  4. omg C and C is/are back! Yay!
  5. Seems like a way to discourage families with young /children? Also their total passenger count is based on single occupancy up front, some singles elsewhere, and double occupancy for most staterooms/suites .#rd person or 4th in room would change their announced capacity on each ship
  6. It is also my grandaughter's 4th birthday today!.And my grandson will be 14 on March 15 🙂
  7. Well today bookings are open to CS members who didn't place an open booking deposit.I look forward to seeing what people are going to book from here on out 🙂
  8. I am one of those solo travelers who only books the lowest price category stateroom and do not drink and only rarely used the slot machines in the casino, so am exactly the type of passenger y'all are referring to. FWIW there should not be any shame with not having the means $ of many cruisers on this board . P.S. the new Crystal is still more affordable for me as a solo traveler than Regent , Seabourn or Silverseas, even with their so called deals-which aren't deals to me.I dont even bother looking at their catalogues/websites anymore
  9. So sorry to hear that Roy.Hope you feel better soon!
  10. Im.just hoping they come out with shorter segments on the world cruise as I am holding off using my second deposit until I see what happens w that If they don't open up smaller segments by the end of the 90 day booking requirements I will book something else so it doesn't get wasted
  11. My TA told me today those of us who have never been on a full world cruise have to wait until the bookings open for everyone and time is given for previous WC'ers to book the WC 2024.She estimates late March into April before the rest of us could book segments, so I have no idea what your TA is referring to ??
  12. A wave I captured on the infamous 0205 on Symphony in 2010.We sailed through 2 cyclones as I recall, between Fiji, and Sydney Australia.Another passenger and myself went running around deck 5 taking pictures AND or videos.I never got seasick and don't frankly remember the last time I did 🙂
  13. Crystal Symphony in Loreto,MX Dec 2010 🙂
  14. My favorite entertainer on Crystal(well along with Mark Farris), Vincenzo Martinelli from Australia. This was around my 50th birthday in 2010,on Symphony.I hope the new Crystal can get him to play on Ser and Sym again! 🙂
  15. I am thinking about booking segment 1 of the WC 24, and saw those days on {Papeete too would likely get off the ship on the last day if possible, and go back to Bora Bora as I have never been there and agree a few hours is not enough! Also I have never stayed in those over the ocean bungalows that look so beautiful in the travel mags/pictures online:)wuld like to spend a couple of days there at least before heading home 🙂
  16. I too only received $125 obc , instead of $250 as was told before, but maybe because I booked a singles staterom ie least expensive stateroom ?
  17. I wonder how many people in the first place have enough money or time for that matter, to take a full world cruise ,at those prices? I suspect not enough to fill the ship.
  18. Yay I am glad I booked last night! just got my stateroom assigned, and gb my tA, she remembered I prefer port side, and was able to get the stateroom closest to midships on Serenity deck 7 .She does a great job and I didnt even have to tell her my preferences She remembered from my last Crystal cruise from like 2015!
  19. I see multiple errors/inconsistencies unfortunately on the webpage of the cruise I booked, which is the 14 day Vancouver to LAX, Aug 2024.I will likely take a train to Vancouver as I really dont want to fly if I dont have to,which of course I will if I book the 1st segment of the wc 24 if it does indeed begin in LAX.Driving to the port is really nice when one can do so 🙂
  20. My ta wasn't sure the world cruise might not be until 2025?
  21. As one who cannot afford a PH or PS, I hope you are wrong. Not all of us on this board have unlimited funds for travel etc
  22. Update to my last post: I have found my large suitcase so I don’t have p buy a new one Yay! And It still has my Crystal Cruises luggage tag connected to it .Unlike Keith,s luggage however, mine isn’t locked yet 🙂
  23. Love this! I think I lost my large suitcase when I moved last May.Leaving me mainly with a large LeSportsac weekender bag, and a smaller suitcase which won’t work by itself
  24. As a solo traveler I wish to be around other people as much as possible so I have no need for a verandah. Not to mention the big fare difference in most cases.I would rather be blue to cruise more frequently then be in a PH or PS as like I said for a solo traveler like myself I don’t find vlue in the PH or PS cabins. Now if the cruise is going to the Norwegian fjords, Alaska , or other really scenic destinations I would consider a verandah for sure. But I do a lot of Pacific crossings mostly to Japan but have been to Australia on Symphony ie the infamous 0205 with RafinMd et Al, so I am fine with windows only most of the time. But fortunately there are a variety of staterooms for guests to choose from and meet one’s needs/ preferences ::)
