  1. Talk to your cabin attendant. I also make a point of visiting the new cabin area when that cabin attendant is working and introducing myself. Most of my B2B have required packing everything but hanging clothes. Once in a while you may hear a story of having to move everything yourself. On one cruise the cabin attendants moved my stuff while another consecutive cruiser reported that he had to move all his own stuff so it's not entirely a ship thing, but can come down to the cabin attendants. One time the cabin I was moving into was empty during the first cruise so I made arrangements to move my own stuff early on turn around day. I'm an early riser so I was unpacked in my new cabin before breakfast.

  4. In reality if you appear to be a couple for the purposes of the backstage tour or the top tier event then it's unlikely (but possible) she will be stopped. For other CAS perks that may not be the case. Back when they offered bridge tours security had a named list of participants they would check. Showing up with an extra guest who was not on this list wouldn't work. As noted above she is not supposed to receive such benefits but for some events it might work out.
  5. Jan. 12 is a good example how the discounts are not combinable and do not work based on a fixed amount from a "standard" fare. For Jan 12 on Wonder when selecting a 4D balcony (not GTY). Platinum member: ********************************************************************** Compared to a D+ member for the same 4D balcony category: ********************************************************************** Versus a Pinnacle member for the same 4D balcony category: As you can see for the Diamond Plus and Pinnacle the CAS balcony discount yields a fare that works out cheaper while for the Platinum member the Instant Saving Flash Sale produces the lowest fare. If you were to have a TA force the application of a platinum CAS balcony rate it would be higher than the rate obtained using the Instant Savings Flash Sale promotion. The Instant Savings Flash Sale promo is not combinable with the CAS balcony discount so the CAS balcony discount only works out for higher levels of the CAS on this ship and sail date. In this case the system is finding the lowest possible fare for a platinum member and offering that rate.
  6. I think the allocation of daily service fees changes depending where you eat. When you don't visit the MDR they don't get a cut. Somewhere around 40% of the time I get phone calls asking why I am not eating in the MDR. It's long been this way. When I worked remotely from ships I was in my cabin more so perhaps I was in my cabin when the phone rang more often. They don't tend to leave a message so if you are not in your cabin when they call, you would have no idea they called.
  7. While we all want the CAS balcony discount to be a matter of finding the best rate and then taking a fixed discount from that best rate, that isn't how it works. The CAS balcony discount doesn't always yield the lowest fare if there is a better promo running at that time. The concept of "combinable" comes into play and sometimes the CAS balcony discount doesn't yield the lower fare. Since the CAS balcony discount is larger as you climb higher up the CAS ladder, the discount is more often a factor and meaningful for the highest CAS levels. That's not to say it never works out for the lower CAS levels, just not as frequently it seems.
  8. Yes, but not every booking. It depends. Generally speaking I am in balconies a lot more now compared to when I was at lower levels.
  9. For whatever reason it appears Symphony is last to be updated among the Labadee impacted ships. My understanding (unconfirmed) for 3/23 she is going to Falmouth.
  10. Too far out I suspect. Notice for an April 6th cruise on another ship just went out yesterday.
  11. Stuff happens. It is what it is.
  12. I feel like this is one of those YMMV areas. By policy Pinnacle do not get free SL happy hour drinks. Every drink should be carded, by policy, unless the Pinnacle is in a full suite. This can get messy for a Pinnacle in a full suite since if you show up in the SL with a gold Pinnacle Seapass card the SL waitstaff are trained to card every drink. I had the concierge print a suite color SeaPass card to replace my Pinnacle SeaPass card so the waitstaff would not consume my CAS vouchers. At the same time I've recently been in a Concierge Lounge on an smaller, older ship where the CL bartender didn't card every drink. I was not in a full suite. A fellow Pinnacle I met on board and I referred to as the Pinnacle Drink Package. Every evening the "regulars" found there way to the CL during happy hour and typically ended up with two vouchers consumed for many more than two drinks. On this sailing the lounge was not packed every night and some of the "regulars" were suite guests, gold or platinum in the CAS and we all got along, talking about all sorts of stuff. Good people, good times night after night in the Concierge Lounge. When there is a bar in the SL I feel like there is more opportunity for some drinks not to be counted, especially with cash tips offered. When the SL has waitstaff who leave to fetch drinks I have tended to see greater compliance with policy and every drink is a voucher.
  13. The CAS Voom discount has always been grouped with the on-board benefits. You have to be on board a ship to apply them. Just like the D+/P dining BOGO and drink package discounts are also on board discounts that can't be applied pre-cruise.
  14. CAS responded to an email inquiring about Silver and Gold dining on Spectrum. Apparently the footnote regarding no dining access on Spectrum refers to guests under 18 years old. "I'm glad to inform you that you still have access and are still entitled to our Gold Lounge or Silver Lounge as it's stated that Crown Lounge access is not impacted by that announcement and remains exclusive to Diamond, Diamond Plus, and Pinnacle Club members unless communicated otherwise. Please note that the members who do not have access to its dining facilities are those guests under 18 years of age."
  15. Once you reach the Alaskan Inside Passage it's very scenic. I recommend getting up early and enjoying the sunrise.
  16. Each itinerary is unique and the available alternate ports for every day of the year is unique, so there is little point in tracking what might occur on Monday versus Tuesday versus Wednesday of any given week. There are always multiple cruise lines competing for multiple cruise ports. It's like predict the outcome of a game of musical chairs, but then another cruise line has an event unrelated that changes the game. What Royal offers for your cruise is irrelevant for any other cruise.
  17. To clarify, one person. Not to be confused with multiple guest in same cabin. Each Pinnacle member in a cabin is now allowed ONE non-Pinnacle guest from their cabin to join them.
  18. Welcomimg him to the dog house šŸ¾ woof.
  19. Mostly dog, or so Iā€™m told.
  20. It's nothing really, think of the money they save by having old IT infrastructure. We all know what that means... much lower cruise fares! Could you imagine what cruises would cost if they invested in IT?
  21. If one was broken, that kind of makes the other better by default. Wicked vibration on deck 14 tonight. Deck 5 much smoother. Avoid both lounges unless you enjoy sitting on a washing machine during the spin cycle.
  22. And? Equipment breaks. Parts stores are few and far between at sea. Sometimes they have to order parts. It happens.
  23. Spoiler alert. Iā€™ve been in most of the suite lounges. On Royal Caribbean it isnā€™t a massive perk. I think some here have been brainwashed by Royal into thinking itā€™s a lot more than it is. PS - the coffee machine in the Liberty Crown Lounge is better than the one in the Suite Lounge. Just donā€™t tell any suite guests thatā€¦
