  1. But, the misprint could be elsewhere. I must admit that I noticed American voices much more frequently than the reported number would have one believe. It is also worth noting that, if your calculation is correct, not only was the US contingent not the largest single nationality represented, but was, in the overall context, a significant minority. As I said, since my very first cruise with Azamara, I have identified these (minor) issues on every feedback opportunity both on board and beyond, with no discernible improvement. My (possibly futile) campaign continues...
  2. Well, be that as it may, on our last cruise there were lots of complaints, but I think there was at least one machine out of action.
  3. One bag every 7 days, therefore, AFAIK, just one bag for a 12-night cruise. But, loyalty levels augment this. As a 'newbie', no extra bags.
  4. All very well, but if there are problems with the machines and demand is high, you cannot assume that you can saunter down there with your washing and that a macine will be available. Furthermore, it is not at all unusual to find that there is a machine idle, but still full of clothes! Apparently some people can get very upset if you empty their finished laundry out of the machine. Staff and crew, right up to the Captain, are fully aware of the disputes that arise in the laundry. I'd suggest that if you want to enjoy a relaxing holiday, and if your cruise is one of only 12 days, wash stuff in your room, and pack sufficient to cope for your holiday without the need to use the laundry room. But, having said all of this, we always take a suite, and our loyalty level means that we never need to use the laundry!
  5. I have repeatedly identified these issues through the channels you have identified. But there are none so deaf as those who do not want to hear! I have sufficient intelligence to realise that these failings are by no means Azamara's top priorities. But, when the US contingent represents less than 1% of the guests, why waste paper, time and effort publishing a crossword that is pretty nigh useless to everyone on board. Loyalty points were resolved onboard whilst on our cruise a month ago.

  7. Better to feed something as specific as crossword construct back direct rather than here And, how, where? Havng struggled for no less than 6 months to get somethings as important as my loyalty status/points corrected, I am at a loss as to where to start.
  8. It's origin doesn't prevent me cringing when I hear it! In posting a response in this forum I am hoping that someone from Azamara might recognise that not all guests are fom the US, and make adjustments.
  9. Personally, this made me cringe! Each to his/her own. I realise that Azamara is a US-based cruise line, but I hope that the new CEO will recognise that on many itineraries US citizens are a minority. In fact, US guests may be only a tiny proportion. For example, on a recent cruise, with 645 guests onboard from 24 Nations, only 4 (yes, that is 4) guests were US citizens. In particular the crosswords provided are US-centric. Quizzes often have much content which relates to US culture.
  10. UV protection is not a 'treatment'. UV protection in clothing is a fundamental, physical property derived from the nature of the fabric and the weave. UV protection cannot be removed by washing!
  11. But the 'harsh chemicals' for the few times you might use them on a cruise are hardly likely to have a significant deleterious effect on your clothes. Now, if you had identified your problem as being one arising from allergies, my responses might have differed.
  12. Ouch! But, it has been explained in post #2471 why Azamara discourages the use of other detergents. If the detergent is so important to you or your clothes, why not wash everything by hand? Or, alternatively, bring clothes that do not need special treatment. Also, AFAIK, UV-resistant clothing can be laundered without 'special' detergents. I checked the wash labels on all mine, and there is no reference to use of a 'special detergent'.
  13. Adding to the to-do list... When one books excursions on board for a future cruise, the 10% discount cannot be applied direct. The Excursions staff issue a letter which one has to present to staff on the later cruise so that they can initiate the refund! 🤦
  14. I can confirm that all relevant current promotions and onboard benefits are 'combined' with the free nights. Whilst on board a month or so ago we qualified for six free nights and booked a 7-night cruise (for August 2024) on the first day of our cruise. All the benefits: six free nights, $800 OBC, half the usual deposit. No early booking benefits, but they would have been applied if the cruise had qualified for them.

    Cannot change moment on Quest, but we're on Journey now, and we have been given tote bags.
  17. Maybe the noise in this suite on Pursuit differs from that on Journey.
  18. This is the first occasion that noise has been sufficient for me to register a comment, irrespective of flexibility, wind or wave.
  19. I am extremely sensitive to noise. And, of course, the evaluation of acceptability of noise is subjective.
  20. Agreed, the location is good. We've had both 8056 and 8066 in the past and not been bothered by the low rumble.
  21. I think so too, hence my reference to exhaust. The noise is not excessively intrusive, but is clearly audible in the shower room. I would prefer a suite either two or three further forward or aft of 8060, so as to moderate the constant drone.

There is exhaust or some kind of mechanical plant causing vibration and continuous low rumbling noise across the corridor from this suite. The aircon was turned up to create additional masking white noise.
