Thank you for the info. I appreciate it.

I have military id and a widows pension. My TA thinks I will get the benefit. Thanks. .

I was wondering about the veterans program on Cunard. I am not a veteran myself, but am a Gold Star Wife. My husband perished due to the line of duty in the Army. Should I apply for the OBC with Cunard for my upcoming trip? Thanks in advance.

That may be very true, but try telling him that! All he knows is how he feels about the tux. I have plenty of time to work on him, though.

I have read many reviews, but there is no substitute for an actual reply from a real person. You are right - I am guilty! I have lived in New York city all of my life.
The reason my husband does not like the tux idea is because he is kind of short and a little portly. He does not want to look like a king penguin!

We're not going to try lessons - we are going to try dancing with all of our left feet! Please don't laugh at us LOL

Unfortunately, there are quite a few left feet in this house! We will certainly try, however.

I have always wanted to take a cruise on one of the Queens. My late husband was Scottish, and we made many trips to the UK over the years, loving all things British. He passed away before we could get on a cruise.
I have since remarried, and my new husband is also a great traveler. We have been all over, but never on a Queen. Why? We couldn't agree. I wanted a TA, and he was totally opposed. He did not want to spend 6 days on a ship, as he says " not seeing anything". We have done several cruises, Alaska on NCL, Panama canal on HAL, and most recently Norway's Fjords on the Koningsdam. Finally, we have found a compromise.
We have booked the QV for a Baltic on 7/16/2019. We are in QG 5190, a wraparound on the stern. There are 3 sea days, so I will be happy. We also have many ports to visit, so he will be happy.
So, tell me what to expect on Cunard. We don't need water slides and rock walls, and enjoy just being on the ship and all of the great ports. We both wore uniforms to work, so we really like to dress up. No problem there, although the tux is kind of scary for him. We may do a black suit with fancy accessories. We love different kinds of food, and learning about things. Thanks in advance for any advice. Can't wait!

Which Baltic did you book? We are on the 7/16 out of Hamburg on the QV.

Why would you not consider disputing the charge? They left 3 minutes after the allotted time. I think any good tour company should give at least a 5 minute window for unforeseen circumstances. I could see if the OP was 30 minutes late, but not 3. I would immediately dispute the charge because 3 minutes seems a little ridiculous to me.

I always loved books. Then I got a Kindle. Haven't read a real book in years, and probably never will.

I have driven in Boston, and been driven in Rome. I would say Boston is extremely tame compared to Rome. And that is saying something.

I sailed in the same cabin on deck 8 this past June. Unbelievable balcony. It was so big, we could have had 30 people for a party! The corner cabin is really nice as well, with windows over the bed and on the back wall. Great view. We sailed to Norway on the K and had a great time. Hope you enjoy!

That is disgusting. I wouldn't expect that on the Staten Island Ferry, let alone a "luxury" cruise ship.

We had it with free wine on the 6/25 out of Amsterdam. They will offer it to you while you are waiting to board in the Neptune area. Very nice dinner and they poured as much wine as you wished!

I am not talking about drunks. I am talking about something interesting to do while on the ship. It is pretty insulting to infer someone is talking only about drinking when looking for excitement. Perhaps good shows, music that isn't too loud, a place where you can actually get a seat to watch the band. On this trip, they had a harpist in the main showroom one evening. There were about 10 people in there.

I am a LOT older than you and have no children. Just got off Koningsdam, and will never cruise HAL again. Way too boring. I want at least a little excitement and things to do that do not involve buying anything.

Sorry, I don't have the menus, but was on the 6/25 sailing. The food in the MDR was very good. Hot, inventive and served quickly. We also tried the Culinary Arts Center, Cannaletto, Pinacle and Tamarind. All good.

I cruised on the Koningsdam 6/25. Brought 6 bottles of wine and 1 bottle of champagne. Went through security, and nobody said a word. Walked onto the ship with all of it. We paid corkage for 4 of the bottles at the venue they were consumed. We were never charged corkage for the other 3 bottles, even though we consumed them at a restaurant. One of the wine stewards told us it is up to him whether to charge or not. He did not charge us. Just asked for a small sample in his cup.

Thank you so much! I am debarking in Amsterdam, so I guess it won't work there! LOL

I have Mobile Passport on my phone, but haven't used it yet. Can you tell me how it works? Thanks.
-
That additional inventory may have already been turned over to the third party for booking. Usually, it can only be booked through them under an agreement with HAL.

One more question for our resident experts. After the Koningsdam Fjords cruise on 6/25, we are spending a week in Amsterdam. Is it the same type of weather, or could it be a little warmer? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Thanks!

Thank you so much for the info. Unfortunately, I am in the US and that card is only for UK. Doesn't really matter, though. I will fill out the papers. If I get it or not makes no difference. I am still going! And very excited to say that.
