  1. There is a set of videos on YouTube that includes the yacht club food on Preziosa posted by guitar Singapore travel that shows all the glorious food on the ship. It may have been the cause of my upcoming Seaside yacht club booking... [emoji3]

  2. So trying to understand the logic here. I will be sailing with a group of 16 friends and family. We do this every year. Should I expect a break on moving is all into the haven?

We each paid for our cabins separately. If we pool our money together and pay for our cabins from one account would that make us "special" enough to get a break on haven pricing or guaranteed upgrade below what others may bid?

If I am following what you are saying the answer is "yes" somebody paying for a block of cabins should get preferential pricing.

See the top of that slippery slope there?

If you booked 10 cabins why aren't you working with he groups department rather than a pcc to begin with?

  3. SO sorry for my incorrect information - I hate when people post when they don't know' date=' and I just did it!! I didn't realize any of the ships were providing life jackets for the pool - that's great. And I'll refrain from commenting on that which I'm not sure about![/quote']

No worries, it seems to be relatively new. Trust me had I not actually seen them one day onboard my advice would have been the same as yours.

I still think if a child needs floatation help puddle jumpers or life jackets should be brought from home since you definitely can't count on them being available at beaches and pools on shore.

  4. On ships that provide life jackets for the pool there are 2 different types of life jackets on board.

The life jackets in the cabins are for emergency use only.

The life jackets at the pool towel hut are for use in the pool and they have multiple sizes from small child to adult.

Here is the information from carnival but I am. It sure the actual ship list is up to date

  5. Thanks all, for the advice and kind words.

I love the credit card insurance suggestion, I'll definitely check into that. I've used insuremytrip before and found it overwhelming, even when not taking pregnancy into consideration but I'll give it a second look as well.

I know some people mentioned saving the stress and not booking cruises until things are certain. But honestly, cruising and even planning to cruise is one of the most relaxing things I could possibly do so I won't be giving it up unless I really can't find a solution. It sounds like I have some good research to go on, so thanks again for all of your suggestions.

Insuremytrip has come a long way. they have online chat agents that are very helpful at answering questions and helping to find policies. Good luck with everything!

  6. Well, actually I think I am pretty special; and, no I'm not a travel agent. I'm retired and since I live in WNY, I spend some of my winter on a ship, in the cheapest room possible, because that's cheaper than spending money renting a place in Florida..

That is awesome, good for you! If I still lived in WNY I could see that being my retirement plan too.

  7. Your best bet is to buy insurance on your trip as soon as you book....so that "pre-existing" conditions are covered. Should you become pregnant, you should be able to cancel, and the only loss will be the cost of the insurance..they will cover the costs that you've already paid for your vacation. Make SURE the policy will cover pre-existing....not all will! You have to read the fine print!

Getting pregnant after you purchase the insurance is not a pre-existing condition...

  8. Any suggestions on a group of 4, 1 of whom like to eat in the MDR and 1 who only wants to eat in the buffet?! I think we agreed to compromise, but she only wants the MDR 1 or 2 times, and I would prefer it to be the other way around!

Any ideas as to how to keep everyone happy? We have the ATD, by the way.

Eat together 2 nights in MDR and 2 nights in lido and split up for the rest. You have ATD do pretty easy to play things by ear.

  10. we are heading to Europe for the first time in May and have really been enjoying Rick Steves' (along with some others) youtube videos of the places we will be visiting. I am a very visual person so the videos have been very helpful for me.

  11. I have stayed at both hotels and like them both. The Hampton Inn is between Mary Brickell Village and he Publix shopping center and the Homewood Suites is on the other side of the Publix. We had no issues walking to/from the Publix at night and have walked over to MBV as well. You can see the Publix from the Homewood it is not far at all and if you cross the street in front of the hotel you can walk all the way down on the M path greenway. Both hotels are new and nice and have great customer service.
