  1. When I first met my first boyfriend we would have lunch there everyday. It's really funny - I remember a whole in the wall place right across the street on the corner that had a fantastice out door patio for brunch. It truly was one of my favorites for just a Papaya, Juice Eggs and Coffee. Now I'm really showing my age but I think it was $5.99. LOL
  2. Africa sounds wonderful. Going to have to start researching.
  3. Definitely Mike. I feel like your a long lost brother after all of these years. Our trip today may be fascinating after I recover but Ugh.... I'm exhausted. Iain wanted to go to Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Park. Until I was half way there I didn't realize it was in Kona where we will be in 2 days. We ended up doing a big loop around the big Island. It was fun but exhausting 6 hours of exploring. I think 4 of it driving with stops along the way
  4. No problem with Squab. It's just a bird. I've had Pigeon in the Netherlands and Sparrow in France. Even though I use to live on Quail Run I loved quail. I just don't let they species bother me. I remember as a kid when my dog caught a squirrel and my Grandfather taught me how to skin it for dinner.
  5. Time for some requested food porn. Last night was the first Chic night. Noticed very few jackets and only one woman in a beautiful dress Appetizer was a huge Roasted Squab. for a main I had the Herb crusted Lamb Loin. Very tender and Tasty
  6. They were comfy but if I recall they showed their age really quickly basking in the sun every day.
  7. I'll give it a pass... I really don't like hot spicy... I like a little heat but all too often I get food which too much spice. No my daughter is the total opposite.
  8. OK... all this talk about drinks made me adventurous. Instead of my regular Alcohol Free - Fre I had Lucy make me a VIRGIN Pina Colada Unfortunately no Pineapple 🍍 garnish.
  9. Andy said it wasn't that spicy... She is from Arizona so loves really hot...
  10. Perfect way to travel. Save the Caribbean for when you are old and want to stay closer to home. I'll be honest .... Africa is on my Bucket List --- I know it sounds lame but I want to go on a Safari. Ugh... you can imagine me getting Iain out of bed for a trek across the Serengeti at sunrise. OK.... maybe i leave him in bed to be eaten by a Lion.
  11. The only negative is that glass partition between the bedroom and living room. While it allows light in vs the M-Class total darkness... It allows light to pour in ---disturbing those that sleep late. Iain's going to buy some eye shades today.
  12. That Photo even got me a message from my Favorite Mother --- OK my father had 6 of them and Penny was my age. She is the only one I stay in touch with. Photos do bring back memories. He father had been stationed at Fort Drussey and she remembers the exact spot i was standing.
  13. I usually don't use it much but siting out there now as we approach Hilo. Perfect 72F and while it is currently in the morning sun it is very comfortable.
  14. Quick one for John, regarding stubbing your toe on the door stop in the bathroom. I was a bit puzzled as I had never stubbed my toe on it.... Ah Haaaa moment. You need Iain..... He always shower first and when finished folds his towed on top of the bath mat. Covering the door stop. I had to look for it to find it....LOL
  15. I asked last night and it was a Spicy Mango Margarita - You are correct it was Tajin on the rim, Mango Juice, Taquilla, Cointreau and Jalapeno.
  16. I looked at it and think it has some nice rooms. Would consider if the right itinerary and price. I think that is currently our view of most premium lines. We have one follower that was boarding her today.
  17. A quick Time Lapse video of our departure from Honolulu
  18. Like all cruises I think that there is a mix. Many Europeans have a tenancy to dress with more flare than Americans but then again those from New York dress a bit more trendy than those from other sections of the country. Europe is a large continent so you may find mass differences between UK, Med and Scandinavian cruises. - the sheer number of Americans on any cruise will dress the same regardless of location.
  19. We will be doing the same on our own in November 2025. Little too early to start planning bu may ping you when I get closer for details.
  20. Thanks Joan. I just saw the message. They did a fantastic job and was very pleased with the whole 3 day journey.
  21. I booked it direct with a tour company - they arranged Car, Driver,Guide, Flights, Hotel and transfers. They customized it to my requirements. I began by taking Celebrity's description and customized it as we wanted to stay the first night in Petra instead of Deli. I also booked 5* hotels. Our only regret is we couldn't spend more time at the Hotel... it was incredible. I'm not sure I'm allowed to post tour operator recommendations here. E-mail me and I will pass it on. Their prices came in at about 1/3 of that of Celebrity. We were even on the plane with 1/2 of Celebrity's tour- broken up on two flights.
  22. I don't think the menu is particularly all inclusive. I know that Decoy is back and in the Premium Package. I also noticed they had Malbec at $17. The Sommelier on Solstice seems to be doing a good job finding wines within package prices. Iain drinks Chardonnay and is very happy with Louis Jadot 'Macon-Villages"
