  1. LOL... Since I have no personal experience in this I trust you.. I'm hoping it was a joke. I have to say.... there isn't much eye candy on this cruise. Male or Female.
  2. I wall warn you. Hawaii is magical and once you go you will have to come back. The best part is unlike the Caribbean it doesn't really get HOT and HUMID. The temps don't change much year round and the trade winds are always blowing back and forth keeping you comfortable.
  3. I've been watching the home weather and looks like the SF Bay area is due to get 1 inch of rain this weekend... VERY WEIRD. By this time of year we should be in our dry season until October. No complaints but weird. Just letting you know - your wife sent me a bribe to post all these pictures... she needs a cruise.
  4. I love the double rainbow over the tree....
  5. You may be 100% correct. I just used the iPhone i button and that is how they identified them. They did have gold colored flakes on them. There were about a 1/2 dozen of them and the star of the lunch time.
  6. The demographics have really been weird on both cruises. People must want to stay real casual and dine in OVC. Luminae is always empty. This was last night. I had Prime Rib and Iain had the smoked Trout Starter for Dinner. The deserts were weird, but our waiter talked us into trying. I had the Blueberry Mousse, Lemon Curd with Vanilla Frozen yogurt The other sounded terrible we had to try. Raspberry Licorice Cream - maple granola and Milk Chocolate Ice Cream. i b will say the base was a chocolate mousse with a slight touch of licorice. Ice Cream was the star of the dish.
  7. Did something a little different last night. We moved clocks forward an hour and will move another hour tonight. We decided to turn our clocks forward earlier and ended up eating earlier and ..... I stopped by the Theater while Iain had a smoke. Don't get excited.... I just stayed for the first couple minutes... Looked quite high energy but the theater was less than 1/2 full - Production Show - Broken Strings.
  8. Kelley--- thanks for sharing the identity ... I hadn't looked it up yet. Just loved the colors.
  9. I love the feet.... they are so cute. Years back when in Hawaii with my son for 3 weeks he caught a lizard and kept him - catching bugs and feeding him the whole time. At the end of the trip he let him go and said.....see you next trip.
  10. It's a Golden Dust Day Gecko. They are very common on the islands and are great to have around as the eat mosquitos and other bugs. They are very friendly.
  11. Since we enjoyed the Coffee Hut at Captain Cooks so much ---off we were for the 45 minute drive. What a beautiful day do sit on the patio and overlook the ocean with gentle trade winds and the absolute shangi-la no trip is complete without meeting the locals.
  12. At this point we should have turned around. Since the fish pond trail was closed that would have taken us back to the Ranger Station we took the beach root.... Our Navigator (me) thought it was a short circle along the beach back which turned in to the march from he11 across the lunar surface for 1 1/2 hours. Luckily no one stoned me to death.
  13. The star of the day were the sea turtles lounging and nibbling in the tidal pools.
  14. The trail lead us to a beautiful beach and tidal pools. This magnificent site is about 5 miles from the ship near Costco. No
  15. So much tranquility in this sacred place. The wooden boardwalk was installed to preserve the stone carvings.
  16. Our Day2 in Hilo ww started out with a hike at Pi’u Loa Petroglyphs National park Memorial to a fallen Park Ranger Pu’u Loa Petroglyphs
  17. Kona is a beautiful small town with so many things of interest.
  18. I use one similar but trying to find a time zone 1 hour ahead of Honolulu was proving difficult. It's a time zone 1 hour earlier than Anchorage and On hour later than Honolulu. I did find it finally.
  19. Yawn. Just woke up. It is so nice to sleep in. Well kinda….turned our clocks toward again last night. Had a tough time finding a city, as Fitbit doesn’t like just changing the time. Iain figured it out with the aid of Google. Adak in the Aleutian Islands. Just one last change tonight.
  20. I have hear some say yes. I have a friend that has tinnitus and he borrowed mine and said they helped but not cured He said some of the sounds helped mask to ringing.
  21. I'm excited to check them out. I have never done one ---but... may just to an UnBoxing Video. I had a neighbor pick up my mail to make sure they don't go missing. Everyone I know that got Sleepbuds swear by them... The new ones purport to have everything that the original owner had requested.
  22. We just set sail for Vancouver. Everyone must have been aboard early as we departed 30 minutes early. Would not have been a good port to miss the ship. Had an absolutely fantastic day in Hilo - But exhausted. We took a hike that was a 'Gentle Hike". We decided to take the loop back ----little did we know we departed on the trek from he11 across the lunar surface for the second half. Oh... well... I guess I won't get any more mileage out of Iain's navigation error on Hilo Day 1.
  23. I had purchased a backup pair on Ebay just in case. I've been using every night on the cruise. I often only use one with my other ear buried in a pillow. Will be interesting to see how the new ones work out. They are also coming with 2 sleep sound and relaxation sites with a one year free subscription
  24. It was in pretty good shape but nearest the shore the is lots of algae which I understand does major damage to coral.
  25. The part that takes me the longest in producing a movie is to find some music that works. The big restriction is that YouTube and others do a copyright check to make sure the music isn't copyrighted. CapCut has a huge library but so much of it is geared to the 18-25 age group or kinda wonky.
