  1. We definitely did but we also stretched the budget a bit with the land portion and didn't do as much in all the ports as we could have. You'll love all of it, just some parts will be even better than others.
  2. Think I mentioned somewhere in this thread we would never pay for it and love going to Cococay for free so I don't disagree with most of what you said. Just wanted to clarify the different cabanas and point out there are some things you can't replicate for free. If you have 8 people going, it's not THAT terrible at the old $1899-ish price. People pay $200/person for excursions that include far less. Hell, that's roughly how much the beach club alone costs now without the cabana! At $3499-ish and if you have less people, it's damn expensive, but everything is relative. Thankfully, like on the ship, RC offers something for everyone.
  3. Same with ours. CVS is my backup to Walgreen's.
  4. You swab yourself in the drive-thru for the Walgreens NAAT test so it's under your control. Stabbing!?! 😱
  5. How about waiting until it's a bit closer and looking up the extended forecast? I was on land for 10 days and at sea for 8 in mid-late June in 2018. It was in the 50s-60s most of the trip but while we were on land I read it was in the upper 70's on the ship that week, then cooled down when we got on.
  6. Why in the world are posters questioning other posters on their flip flops? Who cares what she wears or what she calls them? This forum is a trip. 🤣
  7. I wouldn't spend it either but it's not exactly the same experience. I'm sure my nieces will love sliding into the ocean and having a server tricycle us lobster and drinks is nice. Are you thinking of on land cabanas? These are over the water cabanas out on a pier in the ocean. You need to go through the beach club to get to them. Not sure how you can set up next to one.
  8. Forgot about the rock slide. Definitely a good point. We stayed 2 nights in the Lodge at the end of the road and, like you said, flew around the mountain from a Talkeetna flight tour company. Going all the way to the back of the park and the lodge itself was definitely a highlight (except for the idiot tourist who accidentally discharged bear spray into an employee's face). Fortunately we were told she was OK. Our bus ride back to the front early in the morning was pretty cool too. It was just the driver, us, and one employee heading into town for supplies and he went to the back of the bus to get extra sleep, lol. So it was like a private tour. The driver was like, we can stop more, stop less, skip stuff, whatever you want.
  9. My in laws got one for a big family 50th anniversary trip next week a long time ago and it was "only" like $1899. It looks amazing and I'm sure we'll enjoy it. That said, DW & I loved Cococay in 2019 without spending a dime and will be back there twice in July and won't spend any $ then either. I enjoy steak & lobster, sure, but the free chicken parm sandwich hack and funnel cakes along with free Diamond drinks are delicious too.
  10. There's an extremely long trip review of my 10-day DIY land tour and 7-night Radiance Southbound cruise from 2018 in my signature if you're interested. If you want a short answer, Denali, Denali, and more Denali! Nothing against Fairbanks, we started our trip there, drove to the Arctic Circle, and flew back to Fairbanks... but Denali was a much bigger highlight between the mountain and the animals.
  11. Not silly at all. It depends on the length of cruise and itinerary. For 3 or 4-night cruises, it's night 2. For 7-night cruises, it's usually either 2 or 3 (whichever is a sea day) and then night 6. I'm not familiar with other lengths so others will have to chime in. Another way to check is by looking at MDR menus in the app. Formal nights will have beef tenderloin on the 1st and lobster on the 2nd. *NOTE: This is based on my knowledge of US sailings almost always to the Caribbean so if my answers don't apply, someone will have to chime in to correct me.
