Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. If my husband and I get to the pool and see chairs covered in towels (not bags or personal items), and with no one sitting in them, we just throw them down and take the chairs. We got tired of looking at empty chairs all day until the hoarders decide to wake up and come down.
  2. We reserved all our Anyttime dining times and venues (there are 4 MDR’s on Edge) back in October when we booked our Alaska cruise on EDGE this coming june. Planning with a pen and paper, we chose dinner times based on ports, sailaway times or sea days. We even booked EDEN for my bday dinner night, and sushi on 5. All times and venues are listed as reserved on our calendar in the app or on the website. I have no worries about dining. I guess I don’t understand why people have an issue with this. You have the power to book ahead, like you do when planning excursions.
  3. You are correct. Many balconies have the sliding doors and when you open it to go on balcony, AC turns off. Leave it open to get fresh air in the room, which I need. Other ships have standard doors which close behind you as you walk out. I prop those with a backpack to get my fresh air flowing- also will turn off the AC. I’d rather get the fresh air circulating and sacrifice room temp for a bit. We’ll have our first IV experience in June on the Edge in Alaska
  4. Four of us are sailing EDGE in June 2024 and I have booked our dinners for every night on the app, at the time and dining venue as I chose. I have anytime dining and all the reservations with venues & times are displayed on my calendar in the app and on the website . This includes my booking of EDEN with the up charge already paid. It looks like I have legit dinner reservations ....
  5. We did 17 days on HAL Koningsdam last January. The MDR dinners were outstanding- in flavor, variety, preparation & temperature, and a fresh fish choice every night. Desserts were lush and appreciated the low to no sugar options. We don’t eat at buffets or the burgers, but offerings at NY DELI as well as the two speciality restaurants we always choose were truly fabulous- the food and the service. (Tamarind & Pinnacle Grill) .
  6. I was shocked 2 months ago when we booked our June 2024 Alaska cruise and all excursions were open for booking, with several sold out or “2 spots left” already in play. I’m used to HAL, where excursions open for booking 6 months before sail date. My advice is review excursions you’re interested in and reserve ASAP after booking your cruise. .
  7. Absolutely best money ever spent on a longer HAL cruise. Washed and returned with a high level of attention to detail every day, if needed. The unlimited laundry bag looks small, but holds so much if you pack it wisely- rolling clothes as opposed to stuffing.
