  1. I have gotten Carnival Insurance and paid for it a finial payment date. I can't remember about the pre-existing conditions.
  2. My husband asked me how many days do we have? Didn't even have to add "till we cruise", I knew what he was getting at. Pulled up the HUB app and said 191 days, 20 hours, and 14 minutes. He just says oh boy we are in the under 200 club now. I feel special, I'm in a club. So what Under Club are you in? 😆
  3. i had to cancel a cabin in our group and lost the deposit. I knew it was going to happen. This was disclosed to me when I did the deposit. Took the chance, but that is what happens when take the lesser deposits and book a year out. Things change. 🤷‍♀️
  4. My husband asked about this and I actually have worked it too. Ours was a little different, we priced 5 adults, drink package on ship, we don't need airfare for the cruise as we live in Houston, but even with all the little things, it still was comparable. For us it comes down to the experience of the cruise. We enjoy the sea days and going to the different ports.
  5. This would be so fun! We live in Houston, but with the Houston traffic we would need to get a hotel the night before. What to do, what to do? 🙂
  6. Having worked in HR, this can come back on Carnival. Heaven forbid there is someone on that ship and is currently on the edge, having personal issues, and not having fun. A comment like that, joke or not, can be the last straw for someone. As the CD he and all the crew are the face of Carnival on the ship and that can put Carnival or any company in a bad spot if someone jumps. My last cruise the CD made the comment that people need to beat their kids more. It was made in jest about the crazy kids running around the pool deck while he was trying to host a deck event, but there were a few people that didn't find it funny. Just my thoughts.
  7. I have always done my travel reservations on Tuesday, tomorrow. Black Friday, Shop Small Saturday, Cyber Monday, and Travel Tuesday. I don't think the cruise lines will have anything, but I've always done well with airfare and any land vacations. Just tossing that out there.
  8. Not going to try and fluff this, both of my kids were completely bummed about sea days and things to do. The age range is a hard one even at resorts. They are too old for teen clubs, but not old enough for adult things. My children were still kids at 18 and 19 in their own ways.
  9. My question is 2 parts - We have 3 cabins under one booking. My son, his wife, and one of their friends were in one of the cabins. However, they are not going to be able to come. My daughter in law is pregnant and due 2 months before we cruise. How hard is it to change the people in the cabin? We were going to cancel the cabin, but my husbands sister and family are thinking of going. Second part - If my sister in law opts out, can I move my daughter and her friend into the room, they will both be 23. We have 3 balcony cabins in a row on the Jubilee for June, so I have some time before final payment is due. Thanks for the help! 🙂
  10. I always bring snacks. Our last cruise my daughter brought an open bag of Oreos. She just packed it in a carry on. The worst they will do is have you toss it. Maybe say something.
  11. If you have used the child care, how is it? Looking to book a short cruise, 5 days, but would like to hear good, bad, and ugly of child care. My kids were in their teens when we started cruising, so I have no idea how camps or babysitting for a toddler is done. Child will be 18 months old when we go and is my Grandbaby. Thanks in advance for the info. 🙂
  12. Our last trip on the Dream, March 2023, my husband did not have a wifi plan and was texting I Phone to I Phone with no issues. He was on air plane mode and we did not get a scary cell bill.
  13. I get Premium for checking in on emails and work stuff. My daughter gets the value and works good for her. Also, my dog sitter has an I Phone so we were able to stay in contact that way. My husband was texting his work with his I Phone and he didn't get the wifi program. I don't understand it, but we were on airplane mode and no huge cell bill. 🤷‍♀️
  14. Port days have great discounts. We have always waited until we were on the ship. Also have gotten good deals on the last sea day.
  15. I would call Carnival or check with a private limo service in Houston. We live in Houston and take one from the house to port and port back home. I'm sure they can do airport transfers. Just need to call and ask.
  16. Roller Coasters! I like the larger ships. We cruise with groups and there are all ages. For us the larger ship tends to cover needs and entertainment for everyone.
  17. We did San Juan on our own. At the time my boss at work was from San Juan and had family there. He had lots of pointers. After walking the forts and a few churches his brother picked up for a family dinner. It was really nice.
  18. Just cruised from TX. There are no discounts on day 1 for anything. If you want less expensive wine on the first day, buy it at the HEB and bring it.
  19. We just got off the Dream on Saturday. If you wanted a paper copy of the Fun Times you had to go hunt it down. The popcorn for a move was a $3 charge. Security was all over and by the 3rd day was starting to really step on the parents if their kids/teens were out of control. Not a bad thing.
  20. If not enjoying the fries is the worst thing that happens to you, count yourself blessed.
  21. Hello - Are the doors on the Dream magnetic? Asking about the outside of the door. I was going to by some magnetic door decorations but before I do, wanted to ask. Thank you.
  22. We live about 45 mins from the island, and it was bad this morning. Not seeing any ships on the cruise cam.
  23. We are on the Dream in March. Have been on the Breeze and it was, for me, my favorite. My husband still likes the Valor better.
  24. We have cruised out of NOLA and loved the vibe Have gone in the fall / winter and felt the crowd was a little older, meaning less kids. Now having said that, the cruise still had the fun energy and there was plenty of goofiness. We also really enjoy the trip down the Mississippi.
