  1. How's the general rockin' and rollin'? Our March cruise was the roughest we've ever had. The sea itself didn't seem that bad so it made me wonder if it was partly mechanical. Heck, I walk better drunk than I could sober on that cruise.
  2. Hmmm....he's too young to vaccinate. So how is Princess counting him in their numbers to the CDC? If they count him as a vaccinated passenger then the count to the CDC is a lie. Then again, the count may allow for his being underage and not include him at all. As the lesser of two evils I think I'd be inclined to list him as unwell then resolve it at the port rather than potentially, however remote, jeopardizing the entire cruise as being under the 90% requirement. This falls under the "Why the Heck Didn't They Think of That?" column for the app.
  3. I have long wanted to do the Canal. DW not so much. So I'll live vicariously until I can wear her down. 😀 Two quick questions, please. 1. Who is doing the astronomy lectures? They look fascinating. We took the kids to Kennedy Space Center years ago and saw their re-enactment of Appolo 11. When it was over and the crowd moved to the museum there were many of our generation (I'm 67) wiping away tears of pride. 2. I use a Kindle but DW reads the old fashioned way. She always leaves a couple to donate to the ship library. Sadly, most ships don't have a library any more. On CP in March there was a small nook for that purpose in the Internet Cafe. Just a couple of chairs, small table and a few bookshelves. If you happen by that way could you please see if it is still there? Thanks.
  4. We found the staff in Vines on both Sky and CP to be very helpful. One thing on Sky - staff in MDR had no wine list, just the suggestions on the menu. They weren't very helpful. When we mentioned this to our guy in Vines he said anything they had on their list we could order in MDR. OK, from then on.
  5. That is what we did in March on CP and November in Sky. It took about 1/2 the cruise each time to get it done. Hopefully that's been ironed out. It's not just the point of convenience for us but I believe it costs the staff tips. We always tip above and beyond standard for good service. But we do so at cruise end not every night.
  6. We were on CP for a family cruise in March and will be back onboard June 4 sans family. We're not expecting anything in the way of cosmetic changes and will be content with mechanical fixes. The engines ran a little rough in March. That may have been in part to some pretty rough seas. The main mechanical issue was that the toilets on a few decks, including ours, stopped working a couple of times. At home you usually just grab a plunger. On board I expect it's a bit more complicated. Also, how are they handling MDR seating? Still changing tables and staff every night or have they come to their senses? Thanks.
  7. Not sure if it was because DW won so much or I lost so much but we have Casino vouchers from our Caribbean Princess cruise last week. Hers is for $200 in Casino Free Play. But mine says Complimentary Ocean-view Plus. $100 in Casino Free Play. That sounds like a freebie to me but I haven't been able to get in touch with the Casino Department at the given number. We have to book through them. So how does this work? Am I comp'd but we have to pay for DW? Does the comp include Princess Plus or is that PLUS just a little deceptive link to the $100?
