DH and I did the Bliss Miami to LA in Feb. 2022 (a slightly different itinerary).  It was pure heaven for 15 days!  It is our favorite cruise of all time.  I can't wait to sail on her again (and do another PC sailing in reverse!)

Nope!  This just will not do.  Got the coupon and am hoping to do our first Alaska trip next year, but end of September?  Maybe if it was our 3rd or 4th time,  but these "old" bones just think it's too cold!

Thanks for the reminder!  I hadn't booked our GSC villa for January!  So we'll do that today and then use the points for a statement credit to offset it!  Win Win!

Great review!  It's making me want to pull the plug on Alaska for 9/24!  

It seems that they have been doing it for several months now.  It's not always however.  And if you follow the upgrade thread, there have been instances of people ignoring the "Live Bidding" and then later having their original bid accepted.

Did you question it with BOA or World Points?  

My $50 OBC (5 day cruise next week) also shows as a $50 purchased item, instead of the OBC in the summary.   I'm waiting to see how my January one shows, as it is a $100 and both DH and I are on the sailing and share the stockholder account.

We've sailed in the Haven on both the Encore (1/22) and the Joy (5/23).  Both were very comparable.  Staff was equally attentive, the bar service top notch and the Horizon lounges had plenty of seating.  Even with the increased # of cabins on the Joy, I didn't feel that the space was crowded and we never waited more than 5 minutes for a table in the Haven restaurant.  

I'll be sailing on the Joy next week in the Haven again on a sold out ship and am looking forward to another wonderful trip.  (And an encore sailing on the Encore in January, so I love them both!)

Thanks for sharing your review!  My mom, 2 sisters and I are heading out on the Joy in a few short weeks!

Yes, it says Norweigan Cruise Line (then the phone # and FL). 

I've just never paid attention to it closely before!

When do the triple points as "triple" on the BOA site?  For clarity, I made final payment of $5,015 on 9/13 for my January cruise.  My pending points show as 5015.  There is nothing in the bonus points.  I assume that there should be an additional 10,030 points in bonus coming.   Will this only happen when the statement cuts or should those already show?

I hope this makes sense!  (Migraine brain fog is no joke!)

Thank you for posting the menus and great pictures. I've tried many of these, but am now excited to expand our Haven horizons.  29 days to go until we have lunch in the Haven on the Joy.  I can't wait to have my traditional Shrimp Scampi, I just need to pick my 1st cocktail!  I'm open to suggestions!

@BirdTravels thank you for another fantastic review!  We love the Encore (and will be sailing her again in January).  Would you recommend the 1st week of September for Alaska (weather wise)?  DH doesn't like to travel in July or August as that's prime lake season for us, so considering early September or early June.

Either I'm psychic or this is the same thread you posted yesterday.  Are you hoping for different results?  I'm pretty sure that the general consensus was 1) that you should enjoy your trip and 2) after only 4.5 months, it was probably a bit early for a single mom and her young son to plan a trip like that.  

I do hope you get to enjoy your birthday.  And that if your new relationship is meant to be it all works out.

There's always a chance for a last minute cancellation.  You really won't know on those sold out categories until the week of (or even the day of, in some cases!).  We had to cancel a Haven 2 br. in January 3 days before sailing, due to illness and then passing of my FIL.  The Haven had been sold out.  So someone got an upgrade last minute. 

Good luck with your bidding!  Always book where you are happy to stay, and if you get the upgrade, it's just a bonus!

Thank you so much for taking us on this amazing adventure @YVRteacher.  With your writing and pictures, many times I felt that I was right there with you.  Whether it was exploring paths of flowers, looking for reindeer or enjoying some of Verde's Beste, you took us readers on a once in a lifetime journey!  

I'm glad you made it home safely.  I'm sure you and your dad will be happy to see each other.  

Selfishly I wish summer was a bit longer so you could squeeze in one more trip, as I've loved following your epic tales!  I hope you have a wonderful school year Yvonne!

I feel like I have a non-fiction book of some sort inside me that will get written one day. For years I thought about writing a novel but I don’t have an ending or a middle and a beginning just won’t do! 

Well I for one will be waiting for any type of book you decide to write!  You inspire me to want to expand my travel plans!  

Thanks for catching us up Yvonne!  You have no idea how many times I've logged on to Cruise Critic to see an update from you.  It's daily required reading for me.  I truly hope some day that you put out your own travel book, complete with pictures.  You have such a way with words!

Enjoy your cruise!  Our first Haven experience was also on the Escape and we've never been able to cruise any other way since!
