  1. She is not. Discovery is 2022, while Enchanted is 2020. Sun Princess is 2024.
  2. this year will be the second time for us 3 to see these shows, but the first one for my parents. I will go with them, of course, but then - I truly enjoyed all of them in 2022. My DH and DS skipped the Spotlight Bar last time, but I'll make them go this time, since it was amazing. 🙂
  3. newer than the new ones they had in 2022? 5Skies, Rock Opera, Spotlight Bar? I think they'll have them around for a while.
  4. and for us it would be what I can afford. And lately, RCI's prices have been out of control. Sure, all the cruise lines increased their prices lately, but RCI's prices are outrageous.
  5. My hobby happens to be car seat safety, and these questions are just the very basic ones which I ask every parent who has questions about a travel seat. 23" seems a little unrealistic for an average one year old child. She is probably a bit taller than that, unless she has a medical condition making her very short. Average height at 12 months is around 30". For a one year old, I'd look into using a Cosco Scenera NEXT for travel. It's light and compact, and you can also use it on the plane. It's super easy to attach it to a stroller if you are bringing one to haul it around the airport: Alternatively, you can fasten it to a hand truck or a carry on suitcase with bungee cords: If a car overseas doesn't have lower latch anchors or lockable seat belts, but it does have seatbelts, you can use a belt clip which you can purchase on amazon. There is another very useful board outside of cruisecritic where you may find a lot of good info on traveling with the kiddo: https://community.babycenter.com/groups/a10635/traveling_with_children I hope you enjoy your cruise very much!
  6. after waiting for several hours that day we and another family ended up making a deal with a different shuttle company who took pity on us. $20 pp, so $60 total plus a tip. We and the other family who was also waiting for SAS were the only people left.... This time we took an uber and it was $60+ tip for the 5 of us.
  7. they could always park at MIA airport and take an uber/lyft from PE to MIA to get their car. Or park at FLL and take an uber to POM.
  8. I would probably drop one person off at MIA with the luggage, and then go park the car at FLL. That's what we do at home: DH drops me off with the kid, my parents and the luggage at the airport, then goes and parks the car elsewhere and then joins us back at the airport. Saves us a lot of trouble with hauling luggage all over the parking lots, shuttles, etc.
  9. we stayed at the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon a couple of months ago, and there is a sign in the bathroom that says - if you forgot any essentials, please let us know and we'll provide them for free. 🙂 P.S. We found that Publix to be very small and basic compared to the ones we have at home.
  10. and many other already opened threads
  11. that's not how covid spreads. And yes, masks prevent spreading the virus.
  12. I would challenge it. Other people even got a refund for the days they had to isolate.
  13. how old, tall and heavy is the child? what car seat are you bringing from home? I would not assume that all the taxis in Aruba have functioning seat belts and/or latch or isofix anchors. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/28-family-cruises/ do check this board for more information on traveling with kids.
  14. where exactly at Eagle beach did you find this price? Passions bar beach? We were at Eagle beach in 2022, and 1 umbrella with 2 chaises was $40. Looks like it's $50 now:
  15. our experience is from 2022, but even then 2 chaises and an umbrella was $40. See info at link. Dropped off at Coco Loco bar - will not go there again.
  16. Last year we stayed at EB Hotel at MIA airport and LOVED it, however, at the time I got a corporate rate of $150, which was fabulous. We also stayed at Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon and enjoyed it as well. Also, with a corporate discount, for $150 a night. We'll be cruising out of POM later this year, and, sadly, EB Hotel is no longer included in the travel network. So, now I have to make a choice, and the top contenders are: Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon for $168 plus tax, breakfast included, food within walking distance, safe, free airport shuttle. We liked the area and the hotel itself. TownePlace Suites by Marriott Miami Airport $149.00 plus tax, 4021 NW 11TH STREET, MIAMI, FL 33126, breakfast included. DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport & Convention Center - $169.00 plus tax, 711 NW 72ND AVE, MIAMI, no breakfast. What we need is an inexpensive dinner within walking distance (later eve arrival), decent hotel price, safe area, well maintained and clean hotel rooms, close to the airport, a free airport shuttle is a plus, but not a requirement. What would you choose? P.S. Brickell hotels start at $229 and are not an option I am looking into.
  17. thank you, submitted my 2 booking requests yesterday. And now we wait. 🙂
  18. they left us at the port to fend for ourselves, so - no, thanks. it really depends. For our Thanksgiving 2023 cruise out of POM, I found cheaper flights to MIA on SW and cheaper flights out of FLL on Spirit.
  19. so, the site is still legit, right? I need 2 rooms in June, but I've never used valuetrips.
  20. We have experience with them NEVER picking us up from POM to take us to FLL. You are better off with a Lyft or Uber. That's what we did this time and it went very smoothly. Our flight was at 6 pm, so we weren't in a hurry and left the ship after 9 am. If you leave early, you should be fine.
  21. no. Did the passenger NOT look at the name on the boarding docs prior to the cruise?
  22. but you weren't upset with Celebrity for charging a higher than Carnival gratuity and still providing you with just one service a day?
