  1. try to remember which lounger you left it on? put something else on it like a book?
  2. You are still young and your metabolism still works well. But making an effort to get healthier is worth it at any age. I am proud of you! Keep up the good work. At your age I lost 40# on metformin (prescribed for prediabetes) within a year, with very moderate pacing of food intake and very light exercise. After giving birth I gained it all back, and then some more years later during the pandemic, lost 30# during the pandemic, gained some of it back after going on the first post-pandemic cruise.... Yo-yo.... But making an effort again to become a little healthier. But I cruise to eat. 🙂 We don't eat like this at home.
  3. on our Nov 2023 Seascape cruise, the beach/pool towels were already in the cabin. Our cabin attendant replaced the wet towels with dry ones every day. We took them to the beach in ports of call.
  4. Just to confirm - is the casino non-smoking on Reflection? Thank you.
  5. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2986103-shows-on-reflection
  6. thanks! We may skip this one. will definitely see these. 🙂
  7. what are the show times, please?
  8. on carnival or celebrity? We have MTD on Reflection and I made an MDR reservation for every day. Are you saying I'll also have to wait in line with a pager? yay! Somebody on CC has just told me X doesn't have soft serve. I'd be very happy if they do. Not a deal breaker, but the kid and DH would be happy.
  9. we've mostly done RCI and Princess, with 1.3 NCL cruises and one MSC cruise. We are trying out Reflection in a couple of months, followed by Carnival Horizon doing the same ABC itinerary. 🙂 I'll write a detailed review upon my return, with unprofessional photos.
  10. I use mine for a night light. We also bring our electric toothbrushes, and the charge usually lasts the whole week. I do bring one charger, though, just in case.
  11. I usually read. My DH and DS enjoy playing ping pong - only on cruises. I've seen people crochet, make decorate rubber duckies, read.... My mom would probably enjoy diamond art. She made a few before our last cruise and I stuck magnets on them, using them for cabin and door decorations.
  12. last year - Blue Bay was $40 each way.
  13. I believe a gratuity is automatically added to each drink you buy individually (not as part of a package). Around 18% for most cruise lines. If you want to add a cash tip on top of the automatically included tip - be my guest. You do not need to prepay your daily gratuities. They will simply be added to your onboard account and settled against the cash or credit card you apply to it. If you wish to tip certain individuals in addition to the automatic gratuity, you are welcome to do so with cash.
  14. That does not mean that less than half the people who cruise do so without a passport. A lot of Americans never left their state in their entire lifetime, let alone the US. We have - many times. As a matter of fact, we've just cruised in November 2023 with a passport expiring in January 2024. We renewed it in December upon our return. Closed loop, didn't include any countries with funky rules.
  15. probably because of the record passport application numbers in the last couple of years. It was on the news.
  16. some of the cruisers' birth certificates are useless, because they are naturalized citizens. They are also not very useful for married ladies who changed their names. They would also have to bring a marriage certificate along with the BC. If the passport is not expired and will not expire before the trip is over, an ill-informed staff members shouldn't be a problem. And once we traveled with a passport which expired the day before we returned. We were not questioned about it.
  17. yes, you can and you should. Renew when you come back. No reason to renew before March.... Last summer renewal took 8 weeks. Last December it took 2 weeks. Both unexpedited.
  18. I know they sailed last year, but for future cruisers looking for shallow, calm water and sand - Sorobon beach for sure. If the beach club is very busy and has no loungers left, all you have to do is walk past this sign on the beach (to your left if you are looking at the water) and you will discover a long stretch of a completely empty but still sandy beach:
  19. It was $5 pp last year to Sorobon beach. Taxis were plentiful at the port. Make arrangements with the taxi driver for the return trip, if this resort is not a very popular destination. There were return taxis at Sorobon beach, coming by regularly.
  20. I must say - I get no emails from Princess at all. At least not anything pertaining to my upcoming cruise (booked directly on princess website, so no TA). Once in a blue moon I get an email from my PVP (CVP?) with a reminder that Princess still cruises and to contact her for deals. 🙂 On the other hand, NCL bombards me with emails every 2 days, and we haven't sailed with them since 2018 and have no plans to do so... 😞
  21. there have been quite a few threads in the last few weeks about it. Have you tried to search or leaf through several pages of threads?
  22. Are you telling me that Celebrity Reflection charges $5 per additional entree after the first? you didn't quote the entire sentence: You do realize that the charges for the additional MDR entrees and soft serve ice cream were introduced long after I booked Seascape? Consequently, they didn't effect all 299,995 people who may have sailed on Seascape since its first sailing and they were NOT discussed or present at the time of my booking.
  23. nowhere near the level of MSC Seascape.... They charge for the soft serve and additional MDR entrees, for goodness sake. And over an hour long line to get back on the ship with people fainting from the heat? We'd never experienced this before, and I hope to never experience it again. When I booked MSC Seascape, none of this was apparent, present or discussed.
  24. yes, it would. We tried out a new MSC ship, found it to be just ok outside of YC. Now we are going to try an older X ship, and we'll see how we find it. Sometimes it's not just the ship age and class (MSC Seascape SHIP itself was fine), but what you get for your money on that ship. Crowds, disorganization, nickel and diming, and long lines for everything is not something that we look for on a cruise.
