  1. new to us, since our first Carnival cruise will be next year. If I knew, I would have gone with Princess. First strike was Pepsi products only. Second strike is charging for extra entrees. I wonder what the third strike will be.
  2. they tried Celebrity out several years ago, so it wasn't post-covid changes.
  3. it was hard to find seats in WJ during breakfast and lunch on our April 2 cruise, and the food at WJ was meh. I did enjoy breakfast because of the unlimited avocado toasts, and my kid was all set with the basics like bacon, eggs, donuts and hash browns.
  4. nowhere near that on our April Oasis cruise. It was sad. Even the Park Cafe which used to have a fantastic salad bar went down in quantity of salad fixings available.
  5. I would definitely disagree. We sail on Princess for food and food alone. Royal Princess and newer. Our friends switched from RCI to Princess for food, but tried out Celebrity once. They said - never again, the food was not good at all.
  6. not that my booked cruise was a bargain by any means, but an inside for the 3 of us on a week long cruise in the Caribbean on Reflection was $2,700. That's for next spring break. I booked it several weeks ago. Not a bargain, but prices on all of the cruises are pretty crazy right now. At least we got the ABC itinerary, which is our favorite.
  7. no, these two are links to my other posts. You have to click on the links to get to the full text of the previous posts.
  8. never bothered us (and even my mobility challenged dad), plus, I have a hard time imagining where exactly would 3 banks of elevators fit on the Oasis class, for example, due to its very different layout.
  9. we have found that in US ports (PR and St Thomas) they also want to see either your driver's license or passport when reboarding.
  10. I don't believe that for a second. Been on many RCI ships - never had only 2 elevators. Oasis class has a ton of free food places.... I feel that people are comparing completely different ship classes. We have cruised on RCI, Princess and NCL. We are trying out MSC, Carnival and Celebrity later this year and next year. When I make my comparisons, I will make sure to compare similar ships, so it's not apples and oranges. Like - not comparing NCL Jade with RCI's Harmony.
  11. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/102-costa-maya/ we've been to Costa Maya many times, and we have never been harassed. One can stay at the port which is very lovely, has a pool, many stores, a bar and a dolphin show. We usually go to the beach along Majahual/malecon (we like Blue Kay beach bar - it has a lovely beach, not AI, you pay a small cover fee per adult and it includes a chaise and a couple of drinks - at least it did in 2019).
  12. you should definitely go back to Princess. Royal class and newer only. We love Princess (not even 50 yet with a pre-teen who doesn't do kid's club). Don't do Caribbean Princess (I see you have it booked).
  13. yes, indeed! It was our favorite - we went to the buffet after every MDR dinner and gorged ourselves on Nutella crepes. It was magical!
  14. if you are ever in Bonaire and sloth is your game, head over to Sorobon beach for $5 pp each way. It's our favorite place to just relax in the water or on the beach. It's truly spectacular and laid back. ABC islands is our absolute favorite itinerary, and I don't even care which ship will take us there. Next year, it will be Celebrity Reflection and Carnival Horizon. Last year it was Enchanted Princess. We love these ports - the best and loveliest beaches. And in Aruba we really loved the Butterfly farm and then crossed the street and relaxed on the beach. P.S. Sloth is pretty much our game in all ports.
  15. you could have requested a different table with a different waiter and had a much better MDR experience. 🙂
  16. he should stop sailing on old ships, and everything will be fine. We refuse to sail on Caribbean Princess ever again, after sailing on her in 2016. But that doesn't stop us from enjoying newer Princess ships very much.
  17. did it? We sailed on Oasis in April.... I could swear it still said it was for a fee.
  18. definitely had creamer on Oasis in April in WJ and at the cafes. I drink tea with milk, but my coffee must have creamer in it.
  19. not mine. She gave us $25 OBC. It's better than nothing, but nowhere near $400.
  20. depends on the ship. We had both on Allure and Oasis, and both were just meh on the Allure, and great on the Oasis.
  21. but rarely and not to THIS extent: On one of our cruises RCI changed St John to St Kitts 3 days before we sailed. It's inconvenient, and both RCI and we had to scramble really badly, because at the time everyone was required to purchase a ship excursion if they wanted to go offshore, but all in all, it was a normal change, something that happens more or less routinely. But everyone was notified of the change, and it wasn't nearly as drastic or bizarre as Stockjock's MSC change.
  22. OP didn't receive an email - OP can only see the change when they log in.
