  1. I disagree----i did pay for the Premier package, it's just that at the time of purchase the price was the same as Plus, but it was the Premier package that i purchased as confirmed on my booking. Semantics maybe.
  2. I probably will try again once I am onboard as it seems the UK computer system is set up to simply say 'no' in my circumstances. Also it will be cheaper in $ if I can get it.
  3. Just an update as I now have an answer as to why I cannot book and I guess it might impact a few other people. I spoke to a very helpful young lady in the UK and she spent a long time finding out what the problem was. What she found was that when we booked our cruise there was a promotion of Premier for the price of Plus. As we have this promotion we were blocked from upgrading to the new Premier. Not the outcome we hoped for, but at least we now know why we cannot upgrade.
  4. As per title i am in the UK and on Sky shortly with old Premier package. I would like to upgrade to new Premier but i cannot seem to do it. On the app there is a link saying 'Upgrade' but clicking it just takes me to a page showing that i have purchased the old package. Last week i tried to do it via chat but after trying they told there was a problem with the code in the UK and to try again next week. So i tried again today, this time by phone, and they said the same thing, a problem with the code, so try again next week. Has anyone in the UK been able to upgrade an existing Premier package?.
  5. Yes the cabin was quiet, I would happily go in it again.
  6. I'm on Sky for 31 nights in September and I notice that on some ships that part of the buffet is turned into a Planks or Steamers pop up on some nights and I wondered if the same thing ever happens on Sky?.
  7. We've not been on Cunard for a number of years. In Club Dining is the dining room open for breakfast and lunch on port days?.
  8. The ship has to get from where the refit is taking place back to Southampton, hence 1 day difference.
  9. I wonder if it is still possible to pre-book before boarding and get the 20% discount that they've been doing for years?.
  10. Ah, i looked at the Lothian bus fare without realising there is a separate Lothian Country. We paid £2 each way which means we owe Lothian £4. Still works out as £12 return for a couple and then £8 return from June 30th.
  11. Just got back from the Regal round UK and there is one more option for getting to Edinburgh that is rarely talked about and that is the local bus, 43 from memory. We usually do the 99 shuttle but this year we thought we would miss Edinburgh and just have a walk around the town of South Queensferry. When you get off the tender you turn right and the town is straight in front of you. We walked and got to the centre in about 10 minutes. In truth there is not a lot to see there but it is quite pretty and if you don't want Edinburgh it's a nice enough hour or two. In the middle of town there is a main road on the left and a few yards up it there is a bus stop. We saw a few people waiting for the bus so we thought we would give it a go. The bus runs every 25 minutes and the flat fare into Edinburgh is £2. The bus itself is a newish double decker, similar to the 99 shuttle. In Edinburgh there are three stops along Princess Street, west middle and end and coming back the stops are on the opposite side of the road. Again the fare is £2 back, all Scottish buses, in fact pretty much all UK buses, are running a Government scheme of £2 for any length of journey on a scheduled bus route. So £4 each return into Edinburgh, the shuttle takes around 20/30 minutes while the 43 takes around 30/40 minutes, all dependent on time of day and traffic. Hope that helps some of the adventurous among you.
  12. On Regal now and the majority of passengers are American/Canadian, as they are on most of the Regal uk cruises. Most people on formal night are dressed smart, trousers, shirt and no tie, though i have seen people in shorts. Very few in a tux or suit.
  13. Bit of an update. I've just downloaded the new Princess app and set it up with my cruise details. On the front page, to the bottom right, there is a section marked 'profile'. I clicked on that and amongst the many sections it brings up was one called 'package'. I clicked on that and it listed all the items included within the premier package, including the missing ones. I suspect(hope!) this means that the full premier package is on my account, but it does not say words to the effect 'this is the package you have got', though I think that is the intention.
  14. I think you are right, it is just an error on their system. I've just done a dummy booking and when you get to the page that asks what fare you want, standard, plus or premier, all 3 items are shown as included in the premier offer. Wish Princess were a bit more on the ball.
  15. Just booked a cruise on Sky and took advantage of the current offer in the UK of Premier for the price of Plus. Looking at my booking online on my Princess account it shows everything expected included but there is no mention of 'unlimited casual meals', 'oceannow delivery' or 'room service delivery'. Is this just a mistake or is the UK promotion for a lesser product. Anyone in the UK who has booked any idea?.
  16. Nationwide are making some major changes to their travel insurance from May 1st. The insurer is changing to Aviva and amongst the changes are: 1) At present you can buy an extension to increase your cancellation cover to £20000 but from May 1st the maximum you can increase it to will be reduced to £10000, so possibly this will have an impact on longer cruises. 2) At present you can buy a cruise cover extension for the year that covers things like missed port cover. From May 1st you must buy the extension for each cruise that you do. There are several other changes and people are reporting that they are starting to receive emails from Nationwide. I cannot post a direct link but if you do a search for 'Nationwide FlexPlus Travel Provider Change ' it should bring up the relative links.
  17. Jim, What can I say. Thank you so much for this reply which is everything I could have asked for---perfect.
  18. I shall be booking a cruise on this ship soon. One of the options is to pay extra for the premium drinks package rather than the standard one included. So that we can make a choice can anyone post a copy of the onboard drinks menus or point me towards where I might find them. Thanks
  19. Thanks for clarifying. Looking forward to hearing how your meals in there go.
  20. Selbourne, I know you will be visiting Epicurean on your cruise. My wife and I are on for two weeks in a few weeks time and I'm trying to find out if, on an Iona 2 week cruise, they have one or two menus that they use. The P&O site only shows one menu but I'm sure I've heard in the past that they have two that they alternate. If it is 2 different menus presumably there is no way of knowing beforehand if you want to book before you board. Thank You
  21. Just to add to my original post. I've logged in to personaliser this morning and the advert for 15% off is still there but the wording saying it is ending 31/10/23 has gone. Make of that what you will.
  22. Just noticed when I logged into Cruise Personaliser that the message about 15% discount for the internet packages now says 'offer ends October 31st'. Have to say we had the package on the recent 30 day Aurora cruise and found the basic package to be good, including in the middle of the Atlantic. The signal in the cabin was not always the best, but was acceptable, but the signal around the ship in passenger areas was usually very good.
