That's great....a good sign.  Question...does Anthem show for you on the app?  We have it booked for December.  I can view details of my other cruises but for Anthem, it doesn't open and just says "we're working on the fun".

Looks like they are done working on the fun? Our Dec. 12 cruise now opens in the app and no longer says “working on the fun”. I hope that is a good sign.

We are on the Dec. 12 Anthem sailing and it says same as you with working on the fun. Not sure which one you are on, but I was wondering if ours isn't showing as is 12 nights and maybe that gets chopped or something if CSO gets extended?

Our March Symphony cruise shows up with everything. Technically, I have completed the e-muster and just need to visit the assembly station.😜

We are in NB and hubby was trying to get me to take whatever first dose we could get.  I wanted Pfizer or Modera and knew I did not want AZ under any circumstances.  I was 44 and he was 46.  We ended up with Pfizer as the first.

NB then started pushing Moderna as the second dose because of the Pfizer shortage.  When it came time that we could register for dose 2, hubby again started saying we should take whatever we can get.  I held out for a location I knew had Pfizer because I could see the writing on the wall regarding travel issues and really wanted the same vaccine for both.  We got dose two maybe a week after we could have gotten Moderna.

I am so glad I held my ground and made him get Pfizer for #2 as well.

We did not want AZ as well even though it was plentiful in the beginning. Got Pfizer as 1st dose and waited to get Pfizer for 2nd as there started to be rumblings of issues of mixed doses and travelling. In addition, I personally just wanted the same for both doses, so would have waited regardless.

That's awesome!! In Ontario there was a big campaign to try to get people to stop "vaccine shopping" (turning down a certain brand when offered) but it was so clear that problems would lie ahead. When the time came for my wife's second shot she went in fully prepared to walk out if it wasn't Pfizer.

We are in Ontario too and did just that…walked out of 3 spots until we could secure Pfizer.

  4. Am I missing something…if they are to follow CDC, the link @dswallow posted states this:

However, individuals who receive the second dose up to 4 days before or at any time after the recommended date can be considered fully vaccinated.”

So I read this as if you received your second dose ANY TIME after 21 days (Pfizer) & 28 days (Moderna), then you are good to go…at least if both doses are same vaccine.

In answer to your question which has not really been answered at least on travel.

Mario is believed to have been on various RCL ships since at least 2000 maybe even 1999. For the previous I believe 18 months to 2 years before the Covid hit he was onboard either the Liberty or Freedom of the seas for that entire period.

We were on the last Oasis cruise in March 2020 and he was on then. I think he was on there since it came back to the US after being amplified.

I know the plan for the new sailings starting in June call for 100% testing of passengers at debarkation.

Not sure if this was touched on in one of the other threads, but any mention of the bracelets for contact tracing on the Bahamas cruises?

Yes. I think it's fair.  Discrimination? No.

Our President of these United States has told us that every American that wants a vaccine will have one available for them by June. So plan now to get one. Further, every business has the inherit right to require certain procedures and policies to be instilled in their place of business. For example, Texas no longer has a government mandated mask requirement but Home Depot does. As does Chase bank. Is this fair? Yes. One must chose to either abide by their rules or don't shop there. The same with Chase bank. Or you can be arrested for trespassing if you're asked to leave.

I agree. No different than “NO shoes, NO shirt, NO service”

"the most exciting news you'll hear in 2021."

This sentence in that release has to have some substance. It better have. That's a pretty bold statement in the times were having.

I agree it is a bold statement. If it is not news on the restart plan, then there will be no cruising in 2021. I can’t believe any other news from the cruise lines would be more exciting than the restart of cruises.

    Here's my WAG...

Oasis in Bayonne is cancelled for 2021 so they'll move her to PC to do 3 and 4 night cruises for a restart.

If you are going to dream, dream big...

As much as I like your guess wouldn't that affect the sailings up to October instead of October to April like they changed

Anthem to PC for the winter. No sailings from NJ at all this year. Load up ships in FL.

Do you need a key to access that door to go from outside to inside...Looking at a room in that vicinity and was curious??

On Oasis, this door was not locked. We used it a couple of times going in and out.

Not that I'm suggesting anything, but if you do not have Aquatheatre reservations, you can bypass the "check point" on the boardwalk by going this way and slipping down the stairs. We just watched the show from up there...same as watching from one of the suites.

My TA gives some OBC if booked thru a group but I don't think that they give any if you are not in a group booking

    Same for me I believe.
I am not using a TA for OBC though, the customer service is key with me...which in my case has been outstanding! I am always presented with better pricing for a refundable deposit than non-refundable listed on Royal’s site, so this is better than some OBC IMHO. The creative booking for super deals is also worth it for me.
To OP, if you are happy with their service, I wouldn’t worry about OBC.

Are you on the New Years Anthem cruise?

We are on the 12 night before Christmas. Get off on the 24th. We are taking kids out of school, but they will only miss the last week before the break, which they don't do anything anyways. My son's grade 8 class is doing pizza and playing XBOX today in school...I think we are ok to take them out of school next year.🤣
