  1. Winner! And I thought my 20 bags of mulch I bought yesterday was a lot. Enjoy! I what are loved Explorer.
  2. You should have seen my leg after knee replacement. It looked horrible and was really bruised. Surgeon said everything looks great. I would imagine it will start looking better soon. Hang in there. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
  3. Thanks for the info. I too would prefer to leave from Amsterdam. I love that city and would like to visit again.
  4. Yes very safe but just be aware as yo would in any city. Most of the areas I suggested are popular areas and safe. For hotels I would recommend the Plaza area because of the shopping but is a little more expensive. Downtown as some very nice hotels including the new Lowes hotel as well as Crown Center Hotel which is walking distance to WW I museum, and Union Station. If they narrow it down let me know I can give you my thoughts.
  5. Thanks Graham. What you don’t see is our Hosta garden. It’s still being worked on when I finish I post pics of it and our Tiki patio.
  6. We do have problems with mosquitoes but we keep a big fan out on the patio. To keep them away. Mosquitos can’t fly in the wind very well. We mainly have lists of critters that come through. Lots of deer, raccoons, possums, rabbits and coyotes which we really watch out with the dogs. We are doing pretty good. Both are done with PT but continuing on our own with exercises. I’m still real stiff and trying to get a better range of motion. i have not checked the dining options. We almost booked it for our stay but ended up booking the Double Tree. We plan on taking the tour so I check out the options. Thank you for the suggestion Judy.
  7. I have real grass in the front, sides and behind our retailing wall in the back yard. i just use a leaf blower and artificial lawn sweeper for the artificial grass area.
  8. Linda has urged me to hire out our mowing but I actually enjoy mowing. I don’t even want a riding lawnmower I prefer a powered push mower. I like the exercise but do agree it would be so much easier having it done by someone else.
  9. Since I have a wooded back yard, every time I finish mowing I have to check for ticks. I am amazed where I find them underneath my clothes and sometimes in areas I can’t figure how they got there. I am able to get them off before they settle in deep but they always leave an itchy little welt for a few days. Wish I could figure out how they get underneath my clothes so fast.
  10. I would be happy to help. Kansas City has a lot of things to do. Besides Rabbit Hole I would highly recommend Seeing the World War I museum. It's the only one in the world dedicated to that war and located underneath the World War One memorial. It's also right across the street from Union Station which was our famous train station that also houses Science City a museum for young people. The Nelson Atkins museum of Art is another wonderful art museum that features all kinds of art from great artworks from artist such as Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh. The museum is well laid-out and contains artwork from classic European artist to modern American artists In the 18th and Vine district is the American Jazz museum which covers the great Kansas City jazz artists such as Charlie Parker and Count Basie. In the same building is the Negro Leagues Baseball museum which even if you are not into sports is a very impressive exhibit of the first colored baseball teams and players such as Kansas City's own Satchel Paige. Kansas City is also corporate home to Hallmark. In the headquarters building in Crown Center (Another wonderful place filled with shops and restaurants) is Kaleidascope a art space for kids as well as Sea Life an indoor aquarium. There is also the Kansas CIty Zoo which is wonderful. For food and shopping the Plaza area is a must see with it's Spanish style architecture and restaurants and shops. You also must eat some famous Kansas City BBQ which we are really known for. Restaurants like Joes KC, Jack Stack, Gates and Arthur Bryants (where presidents have eaten) are very famous. I personally am a big fan of Joes KC. There are many other places and things to do in Kansas City that might interest you. I would recommend you going to https://www.visitkc.com/ for more info. I hope I helped.
  11. Our past dogs did that and our current pups do that too. We even have a ultra quiet garage door opener. They must hear the frequency but they are always waiting for us wagging their tails.
  12. I think that’s the hardest part. It’s only after they are gone that you realize how much of your life was filled with unconditional love every single day by that animal.
  13. Bottom line is if you try it you are breaking the rules of your signed cruise contract. Is it that worth it for a bottle of Jack? Just buy it on board and don't worry about being caught or confiscated. You are talking a $15 dollar of booze. I don't think $15 is going to break your bank.
  14. As @Biker19 says 5 cocktails is about where you start to break even with the drink package. I usually get cocktails that are $13-14 each. I can easily drink 4-5 in one evening. Throw in that your sodas and specialty coffees (not Starbucks) are included in, it may be a good deal. Back in the day when you could get a DDP for $40-$50 it was well worth it. Now a days with the price around $70-$80 it may not be worth it to you. One thing I do like about the drink package is not having to sign for your drinks. They just take your sea pass card and run it through. If you pay by the drink you will get a recept for you to sign and add a tip if you like. I always tip cash which the bartenders do appreciate.
  15. That's too bad. I really liked this itinerary but we are completely booked for 2024 and have 3 cruises booked in 2025.
  16. So sorry I am so late to your great review. Pictures are outstanding as always. I so much want to do this itinerary on Jewel. Sorry if you addressed it but are you happy with Jewel? Is the ship in fairly good shape for her age?
  17. Good luck Dave. I had that procedure done. I had no idea that even after they blast it into pieces you still have to pass the pieces. Luckily I did mine the next day.
  18. Thanks Deb for the update! I will be thinking of you guys today. Great idea! Those look very tasty. Welcome to the family Patches! Those Tomahawks look awesome!
