  1. My doctor has prescribed a stool softener but I might combine it also with a laxative. Linda got me some metamucil for fiber. I think I have some of those teas. At this point I will try anything.
  2. It’s amazing how our pets know when you are hurting. Both Lizzy and Charlie have been affectionate as they always are but now they are really love monsters. IMG_3742.mov As you can see they are good nurses.
  3. You nailed it! Thats beautiful Pat! Thanks for making my day!! By all means please do. I will say my second knee is responding really well. My pain in the joint has diminished significantly. I can almost walk around without a walker. The only thing hurting is this catheter and my stomach cramping from not being able to have a bowel movement. Sorry kids for the graphic description.
  4. OB is correct. They told me the balloon on the other end helps keep it in the bladder. They will deflate it before taking it out. I can imagine taking it out is not going to feel very good at all.
  5. Yes I do elevate and I have a ice machine on it now. Had my first therapy session yesterday and it went well. I’m happy that your husband is doing well. I hope one day to be at his level. Good question and it’s what I been asking. The urologist says the catheter must stay in at least 9 days to give prostate time to shrink. I tried to get the appointment moved up but they will not do it. Very frustrating.
  6. Hello my friends. Sorry I haven’t been around lately. I’ve been busy with rehab, rest, drugs, rehab, rest and drugs. I am beginning to walk better. My biggest problem is still this d%#n catheter. Charlie and Lizzy have not left my side which is nice.
  7. So life at home is more difficult than in the hospital. It really helps when you have dedicated nurses. Linda is doing great but she has doctor’s appointments too so today I had to take care of myself for a couple of hours. The pups are being such love monsters but I have to be very careful with them trying to walk on my leg. So we made this contraption out of box to protect my leg and they can walk on it. Lizzy however is obsessed with the tennis balls on my walker. She thinks they are meant for playing catch. She likes to bark at it. It’s pretty funny. IMG_3733.mov
  8. In a lot of pain. Trying to stay ahead of my pain meds. It’s frustrating in that in the hospital they can give you Toradal which worked really well. I don’t get that at home. I am just dealing with what I’m felt with. Sorry for any misspelling. The Oxycodone has kicked in.
  9. Cruise motivation is important to me. I want to be active without having pain. I will get there.
  10. You are absolutely correct. Effective PT can make a huge difference. I had a friend that did not do their therapy very much and still has issues today.
  11. There’s no place like home. Linda captured this photo of Charlie taking care of me. Incision at Hospital before I left.
  12. Thanks Debbie the main problem is that I have an enlarged prostrate but it was not letting the catheter in. So they had to do the camera/ catheter to get it up in my bladder. I have an appointment hopefully sooner than the 12 days they scheduled to have it taken out. I’m frustrated now at home to get enough elevation on the couch to have it flow downhill.
  13. They did not say she was there. Kelcie getting double teamed a lot. I’m a little worried KC not playing well right now.
  14. Watching it in the room via NFL network. I already had my therapy so perfect timing. They also said I can take my time and can go home after the game and after lunch.
