  1. Celebritys pricing makes MSC look logical. And with all their confusing promos and the OBC the prices almost change daily and crazy in all direction. Example from today for a 11 day cruise from Barcelona: Inside 1203 € Oceanview 814 € Balcony 1443 € Concierge 1437 € Retreat 3880 € Who chooses the Inside, please raise you hand 😄
  2. Oh, that will be interesting to see. Defintely a logistical masterpiece.
  3. So do I as we will sail Celebrity again in January after a 11 years break. Everything I remember is GONE. Their MDR menu I checked on the app cannot even compete with MSC. All the signature dishes have disappeared. I hope the buffet at least is as good as I remember. And 20$ for a Filet Mignon and others, very funny for the premium line. Well, need to be fair, these cuts should not be too surprising as the rate per day is cheaper than this MSC Musica cruise. But one thing is guaranteed, if Celebrity wants to fight with MSC, this fight cannot be won. Sure, their Elite members will continue, but that´s it.
  4. Not bad for a cruise that is fully booked for months 😄 That is the problem for MSC, they cannot sell the "Haifa" cabins, because these cabins are not available for the whole week. And they are not prepared to embark people in Rhodes or Marmaris, anywhere, nobody would go there for starting a cruise in a few days.
  5. Oh a new pasta dish! With Gragnano pasta! Excitement is building up 😄
  6. No need from my side, the only other thing I am interested about food is you visit to Kaito as it will be my first cruise as Diamond finally 😄
  7. Thank you, so the answer for me is yes. Starting the cruise with a nice steak is preferred, even I am not a fan of MSCs lasagna and canneloni.
  8. Love to hear that. I was thinking already about it as we will board very early. Was the Sunday lunch menu in the MDR good, did it have something I should not miss? 😉 Not surprised to hear that the taxi scam in Athens is still as used to.
  9. There is no ban, even now MSC has cruises with cabins with ZERO surcharge for single cabins.
  10. Not too different from ours, except that one very important two words difference 😄
  11. I try to help 🙂 The situation looks not so difficult. The logical disembarking point would of cause be Cyprus the day before Haifa was scheduled. There are lots of flights from Cyprus. Absolutely no problem to get back to Western Europe. Check ryanair.com I also think there is a high chance that MSC allows you to stay on board and go back with them all the way to Italy. Anyway nobody can take your cabin in Haifa. That surely would be the easiest solution. If your schedule not allows you to stay on the ship until Nov 1, you need to get off either in Cyprus or Greece. All have plenty of flights. If you are not familiar with flights in Europe, many airlines do everything to avoid bookings through 3rd party / travel agents. And the flights can sometimes only be found only through their websites, so don´t waste time, go directly there.
  12. MSC made a decision! October 19 Rhodes instead of Haifa October 26 Rhodes instead of Haifa November 2 Marmaris (in Turkey) instead of Haifa. So congratulations to @Beamafar and others who will go to Rhodes. We will enjoy Marmaris also. I guess, I don´t know the place 🙂
  13. By no means the Germans will go to Haifa, they have no passengers embarking and disembarking there. That´s MSCs problem.
  14. As I have never been to Rhodes but always wanted to, I would sign this happily also.
  15. Just to add one thing, in the long history of MSC this was never free 😉
  16. Pegasus - the airline, not the horse - is Turkish, not Greek 😉 It is a very important airline for the Russians, as it still brings them almost anywhere. I don´t think many of the other Europeans will embark in Haifa as it is the most inconvenient port for them to reach.
  17. Yes because it all depends on the question if they disembark / embark passengers this Thursday in Haifa. To my surprise Ryanair today canceled some flights to Tel Aviv, but also had many going: https://www.telaviv-airport.com/ben-gurion-arrivals-airline-ryanair Very interesting for the stranded / stranding cruisers, there is a Ryanair flight from Paphos on Cyprus to Tel Aviv (only 1 hour!). Actually many.
  18. Some for sure, but their main embarkation port for sure is Kusadasi as Izmir-Moscow is a popular (and visa-free) route. Cyprus also has a huge Russian "colony". About the substitute, I don´t think they will add another stop, we will just stay longer in Kusadasi or Limassol.
  19. No. This is the only one about MSC (and the Musica, Sinfonia is also scheduled to head to Haifa) What other cruise lines do is irrelevant for @Beamafar and (two weeks later) myself. Still no news from MSC, but in a few hours the travel agents get up and back to work from weekend. Hoping to get news then, but I have to say that MSC delayed this already two times with me. Dropping of Tunis and rescheduling our embarkation from Abu Dhabi to Dubai.
  20. Usually all ports have shuttles when not in walking distance, Hamburg definitely (to city center). Not always to where you expect, in Zeebrugge the shuttle goes to Blankenberg, not to Bruges.
  21. With two ships heading to Israel next week for embarkation and disembarkation MSC surely has other things to worry than Covid. Enjoy your cruise, we will go in three weeks time with our kids and my brothers family with a 1 year old kid. But we are familiar to travel MSC with kids 🙂
  22. Can only book on board. Minimum age is 6, so you are fine, your kid will love it. As you board in Southampton, you should be save to clinch a place.
