  1. The MSC shuttle goes very close to there. Just walk down the main shopping street of Hamburg for 10 minutes. During the week you also can use public transport, but not on weekends. Unfortunately MSC mainly visits Hamburg on weekends which really sucks. Taxis often overcharge foreigners by not taking the cheapest route. No real rideshare in Germany, forget about this.
  2. The infinity pool in the back is my favourite pool on all ships. And the layout of the Preziosa is just perfect. She's the best.
  3. Ouch, that is really too much. Way too much. But on the other hand not surprising in the week the US spring break collides with the European Easter Holiday. Well with kids there are no options, but I hope it will be not so much when we sail in the Med in two months during Pentecost Holiday. This at least is not followed in all European countries. By the way I like your review a lot, especially your deep understanding of MSC reflected by this comment: This is one of their signature dishes, I totally love it.
  4. At the moment there are no cheap cruises anymore. No matter if Armonia or Euribia. I paid the highest price per person per day I ever paid for a cruise (Every cruise line, not just MSC) this May on Armonia. Which I sailed two times before in 2011 and 2017. Also your upgrade was a good deal, I would take this with no doubt. But no more balcony cabins available for our cruise, we need to stay inside 😉 Right now I guess best deals are not possible when sailing April to September. What you paid is already the best deal, we just have to accept that Carnival ruined the market in Europe for the passengers with taking so many ships away from Costa.
  5. Too far to walk. Public transport is available 10 to 15 minutes walk from the ship but only Monday to Saturday. Sunday it would be a 40 to 45 minutes walk through the old Elbe tunnel to the next useful public transport. The MSC shuttle brings you pretty close to the city hall, on a Sunday it is the best option. Best thing in Hamburg is miniature wonderland as mentioned in this thread.
  6. You plan to insult Italian legend MSC more than Brighton fans insulted Italian legend Francesco Totti? Good Luck 😄
  7. No, "MINERAL WATER AND COFFEE IN DINING ROOM" is just a drinks package like other drinks packages, it is marked on the cruise card and it on in the manifest. MSC does put people with different or without drinks packages together as they don´t expect strangers share the drinks. Which is a correct expectation.
  8. What you see is not what MSC offers. This: And you are commenting things from 2016, on one special ship in 2016. Maybe it was not even correct at this time.
  9. I guess you only want to hook Bosnia as "have been there" as there is nothing to see and do near Dubrovnik. Just take a local Dubrovnik city bus from the bus station to Donji Brgat and walk the last 2 km to Ivanica. Nice views of the coast line , so "nothing to see" is not totally correct.
  10. I never heard about this, maybe this is something new on the World Europa? The kids (over 3) have dinner with the kids club in the buffet. Or with you where you want to have dinner. In the MDR they can order from the kids menu or the regular menu.
  11. > On our documents that we just booked, it says embarkation time 1:30pm, can we change that time when we do the online check in? - Yes > Can you buy a bottled water package only? - discontinued > Are there formal nights on the cruise? 7 nights Seashore - Yes, it is not formal, but "elegent" (not enforced) > What is the dress code in the dining room at dinner. (dress shorts and sandles for men?) - very limited "dress code", you need to look like an idiot to be refused > Are you able to bring a case of pop or wine onboard (like other cruise lines) - No. > We booked Fantastica, I read somewhere that you can select your dining time? Our agent has us for 5:30pm (early dining) - You (your agent) selected this. Can change on board probably.
  12. Are you sure? When did you check?
  13. Actually the three in the middle Manarola, Corniglia and Vernazza are undoubtly the best. If the easy Manarola - Corniglia trail is closed, do not bring your kids to the hard one up and down the hill. You start either in Manarola or Vernazza and then see in Corniglia if the group is willing to continue. It is worth it and millions of very old and very young did it 🙂
  14. Browse is enough for you. Water, Ice, Coffee and Tea are available 24/7. At breakfast time there are also (fake) juice options. No, nowadays the cruise lines are already happy if all manage to wear long trousers. The Gala or Elegant night is for you to enjoy, many guests enjoy to make photos with their nicest cloths on this special night, but it is all up to you.
  15. Yes, it is a lot of stairs. Maybe not the most suitable for old folks and young kids. The easy walk down at the water is closed since I first time heard about 5T. Maybe these a special tourist taxis, La Spezia is a big industrial town where locals need taxis also. And they surely will not pay 15 Euros for a short city ride.
  16. 15 Euro for less than 2km, impossible! Sounds realistic.
  17. Been 3 times to 5T, never bought the useless card, only the train tickets. There are booths were you would need to pay entrance fee to the trail if you not have the card. But there were never people there. And I don´t think in the last 20 years all trails were open, one or two or three always "broken".
  18. I have the feeling as it disappeared also from all MSC websites except MSC USA. Which certainly is not some kind of escape road for MSC. But @KimPossible1 has to prove that these T&C were in effect at the time of booking, from now on I will save the PDF every time I book.
  19. I think from Athens will be a little bit less than from Italy and in the Western Med. But sure more kids than usual. The point is if the Aurea restaurants still have a better menu compared to MDR on Lirica Class. If yes, in my opinion it would be worth the upgrade. My experience is from 2018, so absolutely no clue about now.
  20. OK, if these Terms and Conditions were in effect at the time of your booking I cannot see any reason at all how MSC could refuse your claim.
  21. I checked my booking conditions, there is nothing like this clause 6 you mentioned in your first post. I really wonder why MSC could deny. Is the stuff you quoted from their website or where did you get it?
  22. Before Covid (at least, I have not sailed with a Lirica-Class-Ship since then) these ships hat the huge advantage that the Aurea Restaurant had a different menu with some great choices from the Speciality restaurants. I don´t think any of the older ships has a hot tub in the spa. We are cruising in the Eastern Med in the same week with the Armonia, I hope you are aware that it is Pentecost school holiday week in some countries and you will not be alone on the ship 😉
  23. If you booked with a 3rd party, MSC will not entertain any requests from you. If your booking ended up with MSC USA, MSC in Europe will not even give you your money back if they cancel the cruise 😄. If you booked outside the EU, you automatically have given up all EU travel and consumer rights. Which in 99 percent of the cruises is not problem, but in 1 percent is a disaster. There is a reason why people like us here in Malaysia book in the EU, because their consumer rights are priceless. And we have none and the companies know this very well. So good that nowadays this is so easy to do online. Sorry for being off topic. You have to go through your "online 3rd party". But there are not just the category "Inside", "Oceanview" und "Balcony", there are much much more. So if your Balcony cabin is let´s say a BL3 and the Inside is a IR1 the cabins cannot be on the same deck. Maybe the 3rd party can get cabins next to each other, but expect that you will have to change the category of at least one cabin and this will not be free.
