  1. Some may be wondering why Crystal Serenity is heading to Kotor when next weeks cruise departs from Venice I am told by Crystal they are actually required to leave Italian waters and will undergo some final sea trials to make sure everything’s ready (all is going as planned so nothing untoward to deal with) - they will pick up some extra people along the way (there’s also another stop after Kotor) They are on track to be in Venice on the 24th for the shakedown cruise with travel advisers Crystal Symphony will follow a similar plan when it’s her turn
  2. Here’s a copy of the latest Before You Sail Guide Before You Sail Guide V2.pdf
  3. Yes and with the appropriate accompaniment E4BF66AB-95AE-42A4-AB79-196544E78A3A.mov
  4. Crystal Serenity sailaway from Trieste just a few minutes ago - and what’s that we hear playing? 💕 Thanks to our Crystal crew family onboard and bon voyage E4BF66AB-95AE-42A4-AB79-196544E78A3A.mov
  5. Or “reimagine” the burgers and fries at the Trident Grill! - somethings don’t need fiddling with 😂😂😂😉
  6. They're coming….here’s a shot posted today of some of the onboard entertainment practicing in the Cove They're actually videos posted by Crystal on Instagram - these links may work but I suspect you’ll need to login to see them - https://instagram.com/stories/crystalcruises/3151272890880251232? and https://instagram.com/stories/crystalcruises/3151273474231027226?
  7. Some of the dishes she’s been working on for Osteria D’Ovidio - from Crystal on Instagram
  8. Interestingly she held the role of Corporate Nutritionist at Silversea Cruises from September 2014 to March 2018 where she was hotel operations corporate nutritionist - it seems the old gang is getting back together…. For those who sailed with Silversea back then the menus from that period May hold some clues as to what’s in store for us Heres a couple of dishes from her time at Silversea posted on her LinkedIn profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/dalila-roglieri-a7938546
  9. He may need a phone booth to change in - is his name Clark by any chance?
  10. No surprise there at all - he wasn’t compliant with the dress code I suspect “thrown out” actually meant he was politely reminded of the dress code and asked to comply should he wish to stay in the Cove after 6pm. This is hardly issue where Security would be called to deal with the matter
  11. I guess for those who didn’t normally attend the shows or enrichment it will give them the opportunity try to experience them Given a lot of these acts are engaged through agencies I’m sure there was some scope to engage new acts along with some of the old favourites - of course that would be subject to availability as like some ex guests many of the entertainers have made commitments on other lines for 2023 and 2024
  12. Why do they have to walk and chew gum at the same time on this - just set and implement a dress code that is appropriate and clearly understood - as it stands it’s certainly not the latter and leaves crew and guests exposed to embarrassing moments when the various interpretations are communicated Seriously? You think a new and competitive cruise line is going to emerge based on a tweak to their previous dress code? When I talk about change I’m talking about much more fundamental and significant things - and no, unlike some, I don’t expect I’ll agree with everything new Crystal does
  13. Why do they need to be flexible? They have a dress code so why not enforce it? (although I certainly don’t understand just what it actually is after the unofficial “clarification” by yourself) - it just adds confusion to an already unclear policy As I understand it now you’re saying it’s not going to be enforced (whatever “it” is) and they’re going to review “it” after the first few cruises That’s strange! I simply don’t understand why they’ve apparently chosen to change the interpretation of the dress code over what old Crystal had when there must be a thousand other things they need to be focused on to get the new line operational. We keep hearing how the old things will return to new Crystal - so why would the dress code change without any explanation?
  14. It was a collaboration - I don’t believe Bowie wrote it alone - it was a number of members Queen together with Bowie https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Under_Pressure Great song though I do agree there are so many modern artists that could be covered in an Icons show - maybe copyright and licensing issues limit the options available to new Crystal
  15. you go first - take one for the team.... Fingers crossed sanity prevails
  16. That’s not what the dress code you posted in your initial post says
  17. Thanks for posting this - much appreciated There’s certainly a lot of the same shows and entertainers from old Crystal I’m guessing that time has precluded a revisiting of the shows at this stage but I’m hoping new material and shows are planned soon - many of us have seen the standard shows such as the Broadway hits from Westside Story and Rent etc many times - even Icons, one of our favourites, will need a freshen up
  18. If what you appear to be suggesting ie that there will be Formal Optional nights on voyages longer than 7 nights that are Compulsory Formal that require a suit or tuxedo (tie optional) for male guests I think it is a poor decision by new Crystal and counter to what other luxury lines are now moving to I’m not so sure that that is the case though and will wait til I see something from Crystal I certainly would not be happy having to eat in Tastes only on Formal Optional night should I choose not to wear a lounge suit or tuxedo and adhere to Evening Resort casual dress code I have been hoping for change from new Crystal - but certainly not this sort of change!
  19. There are definitely inconsistencies in what you’ve listed and interpreted as the requirements - I think your suggestion people who don’t wish to participate in the “Optional Formal evening” will be “banished” or “guided” in your post (not sure by who) to Tastes (not sure what the other options are you are suggesting might be) is a big leap and inconsistent with the dress code as published so far - given formal is optional and they can continue to wear the Evening Resort standard of dress if they wish according to the published dress code It looks like the key word is “Optional” I hope people don’t start trying to tell others how to dress outside the dress code from Crystal or start “judging” others on how they choose to dress I suspect it will be as it was with old Crystal when formal wear was indeed option and people had a choice I wish Crystal would publish actually things like this directly rather than communicate then anonymously through a guest - how will the majority of guests who don’t participate in this group know what the requirements are?
  20. The Visitor Request Form and details on the process are available @
  21. You’re welcome You can either get your TA to lodge it with Crystal or send it to obgs@crystalcruises.com I’d suggest getting your TA to enquire about what’s open when, I suspect a new version of the form with come soon once they realise Tastes is missing - I’m sure someone will let them know of the omission
  22. Old Crystal “lost” 100% of their back office - new Crystal have been busy recruiting for all manner of roles over the last few months
  23. Just blame the heat! Stay safe and crank up the air con
  24. Here’s the new Crystal Visitor Request form which includes requests requests for visitor dining including the costs There’s a base cost of US$26 per adult with various charges for the different dining venues - I think the charges are pretty reasonable actually Interestingly there’s no option to dine at Tastes (I suspect that will be added in due course) As always visitor requests are subject to security and capacity availability Visitor Request Form - GUEST 2023.pdf
  25. Given it says made in Italy on the neck label I suspect not But they brew Asahi under licence in many countries these days I hope, but I suspect in vain, that the Nobu Chardonnay returns….
