  1. Thanks for posting this link. I double checked, and it confirmed that even with a fairly heavy day for us (which not every day would be) Cheers isn't worth it. Close - if every day was heavy - but still came in under.

Did you include the zero proof drinks that are included with cheers?

    • Sodas (including specialty sodas), Zero-Proof frozen cocktails (including smoothies) and juices
    • Specialty coffees and hot tea served in the main dining rooms, specialty restaurants and coffee bars
    • Milkshakes, where applicable
    • RockStar energy drinks, Powerade, Vitamin Water, Coconut Water and Honest Tea
    • 500ml bottled water and other non-alcoholic bottled beverages served in bars and lounges
    • Large format (1 liter and 1.5-liter) bottles of water in the main dining rooms and specialty restaurants

  2. I simply want to address the portion in red.

The Star could have been delayed due to weather, a medivac, mechanical issues, etc. The fact that it was a woman jumping overboard does not make the delayed disembarkation process more chaotic. Those that cruise often are all too familiar with how the various cruise lines handle delays.

This being your first cruise may have added to your feeling of panic.

    Hi Shannon m

I was on the ship and i have posted a question regarding a claim on my travel Insurance.

They have advised today that my claim is not covered ? I wonder if anyone has had a claim accepted.

I also experienced the lack of any real help in re booking flights and accommodation .

The eventual disembarkation was chaotic. We witnessed a lady fall on the escalator due to being rushed off . I took these points up with NCL but no reply and I had to make 3 phone call to secure a letter concerning the reason the ship was delayed as requested by my insurance.

This was my first cruise I travelled with two of my daughters and my granddaughter.

I think unless someone is in the situation we found ourselves in it's difficult to describe the panic and chaos.

I am sorry if I have posted my question about insurance on the wrong forum but I am desperately upset about the money I have lost due to this unexpected and unforeseen event.

    Thank you

    Peggy lancs

  3. From the announcement of Bliss from NY. "Cruise itineraries will include port stops in Nassau, Castries, St. John’s, Ocho Rios, San Juan, Basseterre, Roatan Bay Islands, Costa Maya, Cozumel, St. Thomas, Bridgetown, Philipsburg, Harvest Caye, and Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian’s private island." No mention of Bermuda as a port.

    https://www.ncl.com/travel-blog/norwegian-bliss-new-york-sailings

In 2019 the Jade, Pearl, Escape, Dawn and Getaway all have Bermuda itineraries. They probably don't see a need to add another ship with that itinerary.

  4. Doesn't make any sense.

#1 you logged in to NCL

    #2 you noticed the credit

#3 you called NCL to ask about the credit.

#4 you were told it was a change in taxes and fees

#5 you then, I am assuming, asked "will this be refunded to my CC or to my onboard account?"

#6 the rep then replied "No" you must "cancel and rebook" to receive the credit.

From step 5-6 makes zero sense. You already have the credit on your account. CALL BACK. Print everything!

  5. They are tiny little people robes - I am quite certain that given an appropriate amount of BBQ sauce, I could eat anyone that could wear one of them.

I have nothing of real value to add - but this made me about spit my drink all over my computer!

  6. Booked on a January 23 cruise on the Epic with my TA. Attempted to register on line today and was greeted with a message saying I have no cruises scheduled. My final payment is due on 9/15. Would this be the reason?? I have a reservation number. I’m very confused. Thanks for any help.

As someone mentioned, you should be able to enter the reservation number and find it. However, please note that all of the functions that one would have access to if they booked direct through NCL may not be available to you since you used a TA. You will need to go to your TA for almost everything.

  7. Log in to Carnival.com. Click "Manage". Choose "Cruise Details". Next to "Bedding" there should be the word "Edit" in blue. Click that. If the word "Edit" is not there or not in blue (blue denotes a link) then you won't be able to change until they assign your cabin.

  8. Carnival cruise Line Cheers program? Why won't they make it unlimited like RCCL, NCL? they think 15 drinks over a 24 hour period is enough? not even close and they wont let you buy drinks after you hit 15.

May I ask how many drinks you feel is reasonable in a 24 hour period? Also, consider prices including gratuity. On NCL it's $106 per day. Carnival's price is $59.74/day (or $65.49 onboard price). I'd say price has A LOT to do with the limit/no limit.

  9. Mine arrived US Mail. No signature required. They don't come via special carrier or certified/signature required. Shipping Cost will be $.59/each. I believe 50 cents for postage and 9 cents for "handling" :)= $2.36. Also, it specifically states that if you order more than 1, they may sent separate shipments.

  10. I highly doubt that.

  11. I would have to say something. People who listen to the TV loudly at home find it difficult to adjust the decibels once they are in a hotel or cruise ship cabin. The one exception would be if there is some global disaster or news then I might turn the TV on, but I would keep the volume low.

We don't go on vacation to watch Television, and hearing loud TVs drives us up the wall. Loud anything is rude. Talking, music, television, etc. People are (as of late) totally oblivious to anyone around them. It is frustrating to say the least. We always bring ear plugs though, just in case we get next to inconsiderate boneheads who act like they are on their own private yacht.

Name calling isn't necessary. However, just because someone chooses to watch television is not the issue. The volume of any device should not be loud enough to be heard outside of your cabin. The same applies in apartments and hotels.

  12. Some people have hearing problems, and some people like watching tv while on vacation. If that bothers you then YOU are the inconsiderate bonehead.

I hope you don't mean this. My father has hearing problems. He uses hearing aids.

If you have hearing problems, are you stating that it is your belief that it is reasonable to listen to your TV at a higher than what is considered normal in a situation where it can be heard by neighbors? If so, can you please explain your logic?

  13.

Abby it may help if you explain:

    1) what fare you purchased

    2) how many people are in the cabin

    3) what is your final payment date

    4) when is your sailing

    5) what seems to be the issue? I can't tell is someone is planning to back out after final payment OR you are replacing person X with person Y after final payment.

    Thanks :)
