  1. I'm Confused ? Final Payment date is Sept 28, 2018 for an Oct 2018 cruise ?

I would like to offer help to the OP but I am confused as well. Final payment is due at a minimum 90 days prior to sailing. Therefore, even for an Oct. 31 cruise, payment would have been due Aug 2. I also have never booked from outside of the U.S.

  2. Going to Iceland We are going on the Jade in September.

Any indoor pool? Going to Iceland. It appears the Haven has a covered pool.

Can you bring wine onboard? Wine & Champagne Policy

Guests may bring bottles of wine and champagne on board. When bottles are brought on board and served or consumed in any restaurant, public room area or in their stateroom, a corkage fee will be charged according to bottle sizes noted below.

    750 ml Bottle: $15.00 USD

    1,500 ml Magnum: $30.00 USD

Wine or champagne sent directly to the ship by travel agents, friends, family, etc. or from another retail source, are subject to the same fees. Box wines are not allowed on board.

Gratuities Automatic? They are added to your account.

Internet fees? There are packages you can buy.

Any recommendations on specialty restaurant? This is subjective. I like steak and therefore like Cagney's. Best to make reservation in advance.

    Much appreciated.... thanks

  3. "Largest Race Track at Sea

Imagine incredible firsts on our newest and most incredible ship, Norwegian Bliss. See the ocean blur by as you take hairpin turns on the largest race track at sea. Get ready for a thrilling ride on this two-level competitive track while putting your driving skills to the test. Blue skies above and turquoise waters below!"

The above is from the main Bliss page of NCL.

Based solely on that I would not put anyone who doesn't have "driving skills" in one of these. This is not an issue of NCL not being clear. It all goes back to personal responsibility. If you want to putt putt around the track....THAT is not this. If you want bumper cars...THAT is not this. It's simple.

  4. From the Jade "Ask & Answer" section:

    Answer:

There are no self serving laundry machines onboard the ship. The ship offers laundry service. Usually in the second half of your cruise they will offer discounts on laundry services.

  5. You can search for menus on this forum. I do not believe I have ever seen a "list" on the NCL website. This is what is currently listed on the "terms & conditions" of the 5 Free at Sea offers:

Ultimate Beverage Package (Unlimited Open Bar):

Applicable to guests 1-2 on the reservation.

Guest must be at least 21 years of age at time of sailing to qualify for the Ultimate Beverage Package. Guests under 21 will receive the soda package.

Eligible guests are entitled to one beverage per person per transaction.

Includes a variety of spirits and cocktails, wines by the glass and bottled or draft beer up to $15 USD. Includes fountain soda and juice, and non-alcoholic beer.

A 20% discount will be given on bottles of wine (champagne and sparkling included) purchased on board.

Offer is not applicable at Harvest Caye bars, restaurants, or venues.

Does not include Ice Bars, room service, package sales, bottled water, ship specific promotions or beer buckets, designated super premium brands (subject to change),

bottled wine, mini bar purchases, fresh squeezed juices, Lavazza coffee beverages, wine dispenser, energy drinks or vending machines.

Guest who receive the Soda Package may obtain fountain soda at any bar, lounge or restaurant throughout the duration of the cruise, excluding Harvest Caye bars, restaurants, or venues.

Guest's check may reflect applicable VAT and/or taxes for certain ports or itineraries.

Guest is responsible for 20% gratuities on the retail value of the Ultimate Beverage Package ($17.80 USD per person per day) and/or Soda Package ($1.59 USD per person per day) prior to cruise.

Retail value of Ultimate Beverage Package is $89.00 USD per person per day. Package price is subject to change.

Retail value of the Adult Soda Package is $7.50 USD per person per day. Package price is subject to change.

20% gratuities on the retail value of the Ultimate Beverage Package and/or Soda Package are included when booking through the Australia office.

When booking through the Australia office, gratuities related to beverage and soda packages are included.

  6. This is all about personal responsibility. I don't think the limit is placed for patrons to have a "goal". More than likely, it's a limit that Carnival has implemented as the point where it is no longer profitable for them.

If on a vacation on land (or on a weekend) I would drink 6-8 drinks per day. At about $12/drink on-board that more than covers the Cheers price.

I have NEVER felt obligated to drink 15 drinks. Responsibility shouldn't go "out the window" when you board a ship, etc.

  7. PACruise804 - thanks....

I'm not sure what you think got combined. I read it as someone wants to pre-purchase Cheers (a non-refundable package once aboard) but wants to know about canceling before sailing if they change their mind. Cancel with refund has the same cut of as pre-purchase of 10pm day before embarkation.

When I log into carnival, select Cheers!, I get the following pop-up....enhance

When I click full rules there is no mention of the 10pm rule. :(

  8. Here is the link to the page PP got that from

    https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1106

    Restrictions:

    • CHEERS! is offered by stateroom - All adults staying in the same room must participate
    • We're committed to responsible drinking. One drink per order' date=' limited to 15 drinks per day
[*']25% discount off the menu price for any spirit or wine by the glass above $50.00
    • Program is non-refundable

Interesting. I took mine from a screenshot where I can buy it for my next cruise. I would appear they are in contradiction on one another. One saying non-refundable. The other saying refundable with restrictions. Anyone else thinking that or am I just dense today?

  9. Copied and pasted directly from the Carnival website...

    • CHEERS! is non-refundable; if the program is purchased prior to the cruise, it is refundable up to 10:00pm ET, the evening prior to the cruise departure.

UMM what? The above "copy and paste" makes no sense. I think two things got combined....

    Restrictions:

    • Must be 21 or older to purchase and agree to not give to minors.
    • Each adult assigned to the same stateroom must purchase the program.
    • Guests must purchase the program for the entire cruise.
    • Only one drink at a time may be ordered. No sharing is permitted.
    • There is a 5 minutes wait time between ordering drinks.
    • Program allows for up to 15 alcoholic drinks per 24 hour period (6am-6am).
    • Guests sailing from New York and Galveston will not be able to activate the CHEERS! program until Day 2.
    • Program only applicable for onboard purchases during regular operating hours.
    • European voyages may require VAT tax, when applicable this will be charged onboard.
    • Not offered on 2 day cruises and charter cruises"

Cut-off for pre-purchase is the day before embarkation and 10:00pm EST through call center. Additional restrictions apply, see program details below.

  10. What time are you arriving in Miami? The drive from MIA to FLL is about 40 minutes to an hour. We had a 1:35pm (boarding at 1:00pm) flight in June, same situation. We got up at 7am, had a quick breakfast, went back to the room to grab our bags, got to the terminal and hailed an UBER. We got in the car at 8:48am. Arrived at FLL at 9:28am. Needless to say, we could have stayed in bed or at breakfast longer ;)

  11. I answered you in another forum. Two additional things 1) find a TA you like and trust or 2) scour the different cruise line websites until you find a sailing that you feel is "right" for you. I put in another thread my criteria for deciding on a trip. You should list what's important to you first, then go looking (or have a TA look for you).
